@@januszparol1986 Prawde mowiac, Ty bardzo dobrze piszesz w jezyku angielskim, kiedy przeczytalem twoj komentarz; ''wow, man. I've lived in Warsaw most of my life...'' po prostu myslalem, ze jestes Angolem albo Amerykaninem. Oczywiscie, jak MOWISZ po angielsku nie wiem bo nic nie slyszalem ale co najmniej na pewno dajesz sobie rade z pisaniem.

When you were in Ossów 12:52 ( eastern part of military compound, where You saw monument as You said : for those who died in plane crash ). This church is not for them.
Ossów is the pleace where Polish soldiers repelled the Russian attack in 1920 , 15th of august was the date of this battle. The entire war of the 1920s was called the Miracle on the Vistula or Battle of Warsaw. Soon will be opened museum of Battle of Warsaw in Ossów.
Plane crash In Smolensk was 10th of april 2010.

The monument we found was definitely for Smolensk, even if the church was not, there were the names of the people from the crash along with the busts shown in the video

@@britinpoland2392 There is a famous graveyard on the outskirts of Warsaw (I do not know the name off hand but it could always be googled). I was taken there some years ago and shown around. There is quite an impressive memorial to those who died in the disaster, some of whom are actually buried there. I believe that part of the problem was a lack of communication as the airport in Smolensk spoke Russian but the aircraft crew spoke Polish. Usually, English is used as the international language in aviation messages but as the airfield was a military base there was no obligation to have English language speakers controlling the air traffic flow. Consequently, the Polish aircraft captain was both trying to land the aircraft and be a Russian language intermediary at the same time. I believe he was warned to fly on to another airfield but something was either lost in translation or he was pressured to land there by the then Polish Prime Minister.

@@michaelmckelvey5122 I’m not 100% if I’ve seen this specific graveyard, I’ve been to quite a few…will try and find it, I think the Smolensk disaster is a bit too sensitive to make a full video about, but in time I was thinking to make a video about the cemeteries in Warsaw

@@britinpoland2392 i was looking on line and there is a memorial known as the Stairway to Heaven on Plac Pilsudskiego in Srodmiescie. Some of the victims (27) are burried in Zoliborz at the Powazki Military Cemetry and that is where I saw the grave of Natalia Januszko, a flight attendent and the youngest victim of the disaster.

Talking about plane disasters and memorials, there was a nasty crash in the woods of Kabaty in 1986. I actually remember it very well as I was in Gdansk on that very day of the disaster and saw it all live on the television. It was a Russian Ilyushin on its way to New York and there was a similar plane crash in 1980, another LOT flight, another Ilyushin but coming in the opposite direction towards Okecie Airport. Some speculate that a lot of it was the fault of Edward Gierek and the Communist party that bankrupted the country.

@@britinpoland2392 If I am right, the 1986 air disaster was caused by a faulty ball bearing in the number 2 engine.
