    Finally got on the board here as well. Season has been a grind. This evening they just ran in behind me giving me a 5 yard shot. Crazy the highs and lows of turkey hunting

    Do you think using a deer decoy on a marsh island would work, for
    example, a Montana deer Decoy?

      It's possible at the right time of year it could help, especially if it's one of those larger, more open islands where you can see a decent ways under the canopy but there aren't many other key features. I've always wondered what happens when does or smaller bucks investigate a decoy and decide something isn't right... would that affect general deer activity through there for a bit? Usually I like to sit closer to scrapes on the edge as close as possible to thick cover and known bedding, but that doesn't always guarantee the moment is right there. I've often seen bucks slipping along the thick side of the edge, staying partially secluded, when they are checking out bedding adjacent to an open oak island.
