  • Here is how to learn the Rosetta Stoned polyrhythm: • Tool - Rosetta Stoned ...
Simply put an amazingly creative effort by Danny Carey. The end where triplets are played (tom kick kick I suppose) instead of linear double bass is particularly interesting.
My cover does not claim to be a performance that comes close to Danny. It is only intended to express my respect and appreciation for him.
SETUP: Roland TD-30 serves as a midi controller triggering the Superior Drummer 3 VST using the provided Roland ASIO drivers.

Awesome job. That double bass triplet part at the end was 👌. Also really like the sounds you got out of SD3. Did you have to tweak them much?

thank you. not too much to be honest. just some compression to hide some of my clumsy dynamics ;)

@@lgrumet thanks. I have a TD-30 and I'm about to take the plunge and get SD3 but still researching interfaces/latency etc. Glad to see you're able to get such great sound right out of the box.

@@fattyspecial no interface required then. just a regular laptop. SD3 will obviously give you amazing sounds as it comprises approx. 240 GB of drum samples recorded by some of the best sound engineers in the industry. The problem with SD3 is that you can quickly get used to sounding too good and thus be disappointed in yourself the next time you sit behind a real drum kit ;)))
