  • This is an easy gnome tutorial showing you how to make a safari gnome with hat. The pattern is free to download for personal use. You will use a 70mm fillable ornament to make the hat. This is a no sew gnome pattern that you can easily adapt to a sewing pattern using a 1/4" seam allowance. This is a diy gnome with legs and a diy gnome with arms. You will learn how to make a gnome with a Dollar Tree pool noodle. You will also learn how to make a no sew gnome hat. Easy to follow instructions.

It took me 3 days and I am a mess with glue haha and it doesn't look quite the same but it sure was fun making this as a gift for a friend. I think the imperfections add to its cuteness. Hi Patti...I am back! I have a Cricut but I am new to that so could you tell me what pressure you had on cutting out your pattern; the blade you used and what was your setting...custom? I wanted to use the svg files because of their accuracy. Unfortunately, it chewed up my foam board...I was using 2mm like you suggested. Anyway, would like to know for the next one...thank you so much!

Karen, I use the 2 mm also, but I set the blade to the regular knife blade, no the deep cut blade because it does chew up the foam. I just select craft foam and set my pressure to more. That has worked good for me. Thanks, Patti
