Another detail in Celeste's execution was that she was expecting the whole "being burned at the stake" thing to be what ends her, so the firetruck insta-kill comes out of left field.
It's mostly Celeste wanting to be unique, burning at a stake was a unique death attributed to victims of witch trials, but the fire truck cemented her death as part of a percentage, being that automobile kills are far more common

@@Firegen1Seriously! The only "flaw" would probably be the Chihiro segment at around 17 minutes in-she handled it perfectly, but it's honestly an easy dilemma to solve: if you complete Chihiro's social link before his death, he not only confesses to being male but becomes very angry with you if you continue addressing him with female pronouns afterwards. Safe to say that he's closer to a trans masc allegory than a trans femme one. He's definitely gnc, but considering how much he hates being called a girl that's most likely _not_ his gender identity. There's no reason for DGR fans to fear discourse when he lays it out so clearly like that.

Alter Ego absolutely deserved to be on the Kill Count, in my opinion 😅 If Monokuma does a whole execution for them, that should be enough to count. Also, how amazing is that Junko cosplay? The hair?!?!
My one shot against Alter Ego being added would be them appearing in the failed execution. In my head that shows they're still lurking about on the school's system, thus not fully dead. But that's just my two cents on the topic. Also yeah. That Junko cosplay is amazing!
Knowing that Chelsea had to record this twice due to tech issues and still knocking it out of the park like she did speaks volumes to how much she's grown in this role. Keep up the amazing work, Chels!
I find Celeste's death the most interesting kill due to how she loved the idea of being burned like a witch, but her hope for such a demise was dashed by such a comicly silly way of going out.
She wanted to go out burnt at the stake, a death that not many people in history have suffered Instead she died in a car accident, probably the most common way to die
right ? it was meant to go off of how she valued being so unique & not “basic” or not be seen as a “loser” (as she put it) just to be killed in a way that’s so common
Thank you Chelsea for including every single *“Mukuro Ikusaba, the sixteenth student lying hidden somewhere in this school”* very iconic and realistic detail 💀

The fire truck thing with Celeste is actually pretty clever. It makes her death seem anti-climatic but that's literally the point. Since she considers herself royalty she was happy to have the kind of death she was getting as she would go out in a literal blaze of glory. This is foreshadowed when she says she would like to be reincarnated as Marie Antoinette even knowing how that woman died. Celeste's execution is not only an incredible visual, but also contains amazing symbolism and would be absolutely soul crushing from Celeste's perspective. Celeste wants to be aristocratic, valuable, and overall noble and royal in appearance and status. So being executed by burnt at the stake in a very dramatic visual in front of a castle would actually probably be a way she would want to go out. Only for that all to be ripped away, as shes instead killed by being run over. Unfortunately a very common, normal, and not nearly as dramatic way to die, meaning it would cause her the most despair in the few fleeting moments she had left.
Zorin and Chelsea are such incredible hosts of the killcount, keep the same spirit and enthusiasm of James but with such unique style. Love the whole deadmeat crew!!
Being a massive Danganronpa fan myself and wanting this Kill Count to manifest for YEARS since Chelsea admitted she was also a superfan, this was easily my most hyped Kill Count yet. And it did NOT disappoint. Between the clear love and passion for the game (and franchise) shown by Chelsea, all the inside jokes/references and the AMAZING opening montage and To The Numbers bit, this is absolutely one of my favourite Kill Counts to date. I SINCERELY hope Chelsea covers Danganronpa 2 and V3 in the future because imo, those games are even better than Trigger Happy Havoc.
Fun fact, Danganronpa was going to have a secret ending where if we beat the game and later restart and talk to monokuma in the first week before the first victim is killed, he would give you a key and hint you another way to leave. Then after going to the entrance hall, everyone discusses the matter and conclud that in order to escape, they need to give up their talents. Then they do, they get out and we go back to the entrance hall where makoto lost his conscience in the prologue where It seems like a normal entrance hall, with no steel plates over the windows. Makoto then sort of wakes up, mentions the game's events as a dream, gets embarrassed and decides to go home, feeling like he's more fit for a normal life and after a while, forgets what his dream was.
the funniest part is how a "leave the game early" scene is still kind of included. One of the items in the Monomono machine that can only be gotten in the post game is the Escape Button which triggers a bonus ending scene. It's even used as the plot trigger in Danganronpa IF (the novel you unlock when you beat the second game)
Might probably be my favorite comedic Kill Count episode that is for a video game, I even love the sponsor. 😂 Meanwhile, Chelsea's cosplay is very much in character, she is the real Junko here now
You know Chelsea and Jeff (mentioned at the end) are true fans cause of the attention given to "Mukuro Ikusaba, the 16th Student, lying hidden somewhere in this school… the one they call the Ultimate Despair, Watch out for her" MULTIPLE TIMES The increasingly fast cutoffs got me XD
oh my god Chelsea is KILLING it in her Junko cosplay!!! and seeing her jam out to the theme was honestly such a mood because what else can you do when you hear that absolute BANGER?!
I was so not expecting my article to be featured in a Dead Meat video! (17:39) Thank you guys for taking such care with discussing Chihiro's story, and thank you for the shout-out!
That's pretty much the whole franchise, random plotlines. The third game has half the cast form a cult at the midway point that just ceases to be by the end of the chapter, and is not mentioned ever again.
@@Kagetora- I also recommend it, though I also make sure to advise folks to go in with the knowledge that the games sometimes touch on topics that are _very_ sensitive by today's standards, and said topics aren't always handled the best within the frame of the games, with this being _partly_ due to the games being Products Of Their Time And Country Of Origin, and partly due to the developers _deliberately_ making the villains of the series some of the most _truly evil_ characters in modern animated fiction. (Seriously, the stuff Junko gets up to in the prequel anime is _utterly vile_ at times, and I can only _imagine_ how much censorship a kill count for _that_ would need to avoid demonetization. Even the original simulcast needed to be censored!)
Holy hell please let Chelsea do kill counts for other DanganRonpa games (and maybe some other horror games too -eyes emoji-) And that Junko Cosplay is so good! Absolutely killed it! (pun intended)
Chelsea already is proving she's a great host to this channel, also a pretty good cosplay. Also, this game is probably the second best Danganronpa game to me, just the great characters like Mondo and Toko, the twists are still pretty realistic and not as goofy, it actually feels like a real tv show in which the players actually die and murder infront of you.
Thank you, Chelsea for this wonderful kill count. Your cosplay is amazing. Your voice acting is amazing. Humor is spot on. I hope we do indeed get another Danganronpa kill count someday.
Another thing about Celeste's kill is that the one thing she always wanted was a unique death. Burning to death at the spike, I'd say, is decently unique. That's why she's smiling in her final moments- that is until the firetruck comes storming towards her, resulting in a death via car crush. One of the most popular deaths, filling Celeste with despair.
Even worse thing I realized not too long ago: Celeste said something along the lines of wanting a royal death. Something dramatic like being burned at the stake surely was what she had in mind, but note that one of the most notable deaths of a member of royalty in the modern consciousness was Princess Diana, who died in an automobile crash. Technically, Celeste got her wish, just that the monkey's paw -- or, in this case, the bear's paw -- curled.
A normal playthrough for the main story would take maybe 25 hours, according to Google. So, with a regular play time of 1,500 minutes, that leaves us with a kill on average every 125 minutes.
I was expecting just a decent effort, but Chelsea's lengths to cosplay Junko, the smooth transitions of each kill, careful mentions of questionable content in the game, and "by the numbers" bit is so buttery good. Chelsea knocked this out nicely! ^o^
As a Junko Stan, Chelsea MURDERED that cosplay! Danganronpa is one of my favorite series of all time, so having it in one of my favorite TH-cam series of all time was a mega treat. Thank you! 🎉❤
Chelsea's cosplay and energy were both perfect and immaculate, holy SHIT. As somebody who was around for the first (pre-release) English translation this was such a trip back to the past.

She whispers the 22 words every guy wants to hear Mukuro Ikusaba The 16th student lying hidden somewhere in this school The one they call the ultimate despair Watch out for her 😂😂😂😂😂
Chelsea being so happy during the episode, does leave you with a happy feeling after finishing this episode. You can feel her love for this series. Also, very cool that you are exploring other types of media, without having to do a second channel series, im actually happy for that.
This is like an early Christmas for me. A kill count of one of my favorite franchises from you guys. Even if I know the bodycounts and order of the deaths, I appreciate you guys touching on Danganronpa.
I hope that even when kill counts go back to normal, we still end up getting some of these special ones every once in a while, because I've absolutely loved them.
The comedy in this was absolute gold. Whether it was Chelsea, a script writer, or both, you absolutely killed it with the jokes in this episode that made every single minute of this ~50 minute episode an absolute top tier comedy episode. Also, Chelsea absolutely nails the delivery on all the jokes but keeping them funny, quickly passing, insider remarks that don't loom for too long and only give the best to those who pay attention. Very well done!
Ok the beginning of this video killed me, that dance party was too funny. Also I'm glad to see Chelsea again as the host. Danganronpa is a strange series so I'd love to see the sequels (especially V3) being covered in the kill count.
finding out that Chelsea also likes Danganronpa (one of my personal favorite game franchises of all time) and even made a kill count on it is just so cool for me.
As a Danganronpa Fan the Get To the Numbers bit is by far my favorite. Incredible recreation and video! Great job to everyone that worked on this video!
I love love love the direction Dead Meat is going, horror media in general is so vast and diverse. I’ve never played this game but it does give me Corpse Party vibes and I think that might be good to cover
Yknow, that ending segment with Chelsea as Junko and James as Makoto makes me think about a version of Danganronpa where the Dead Meat team could all be characters...
this is so full circle in a funny way. Back in 10th grade my friend and I hung out in our art teacher's classroom during lunch. I'd always switch between watching Danganronpa play throughs or Dead Meat's kill counts. Now I'm a sophomore in high school who is still in love with Danganronpa... and now it has a kill count episode. I don't know why this made me nostalgic for those simpler days.
I can't think of any other channel/show where someone ends up covering it, and I'm just as excited to watch. Chelsea and Zoran's episodes are both always first rate.
I can't believe it took me so long to see this. I LOVE this game series and this video was incredible!! I hope we get to experience the other two games on this channel some day!

Zoran is definitely gonna have a word about how unfair it is that Chelsea gets to be pantless on the Kill Count set but he can’t. 😂
oh my god Chelsea is KILLING it in her Junko cosplay!!! and seeing her jam out to the theme was honestly such a mood because what else can you do when you hear that absolute BANGER?!
KILLING it? Eh? Guys?
Masafumi Takada always turns games into gold with his music
I was so not expecting my article to be featured in a Dead Meat video! (17:39) Thank you guys for taking such care with discussing Chihiro's story, and thank you for the shout-out!
i like how this game has the most absurd and random sounding plotlines but still seems to tie everything up pretty neatly at the end
That's pretty much the whole franchise, random plotlines. The third game has half the cast form a cult at the midway point that just ceases to be by the end of the chapter, and is not mentioned ever again.
This episode filled me with so much hope. Can't wait for the sequel kill counts
If that was a pun it wasn’t a very good one
@@Kpimpmasterwhat
honestly id love to see the sequels be kill counted but even if this was just a one off, im so glad it exists!
Makoto and Nagito : *Allow us to introduce ourselves*
@@broisbored they said “filled me with so much HOPE”
I was never interested in Danganronpa, but Chelsea is truly the master of storytelling!! Kudos to her, I really do love this kill count :)
I highly recommend playing it. Great series
I recommend playing the games, but the chapters are all pretty long even if only talking about the trials
you will absolutely love the 2nd games kill count. as much as i love the original, the 2nd is the most intriguing, to me at least.
@@oracxo Definitely. Has the most Iconic characters IMO. I knew about people like Nagito before I even knew about Danganronpa
this episode feels like such a fever dream having been a fan of both Dead Meat and Danganronpa for so long
RIGHT!
Holy hell please let Chelsea do kill counts for other DanganRonpa games (and maybe some other horror games too -eyes emoji-) And that Junko Cosplay is so good! Absolutely killed it! (pun intended)
I would love to see her cover, like, *all* the horror games.
i think it would be cool if they did the when they cry series
I want her to do Zero Escape but I also wonder HOW that would work given the whole timeline thing that series has going on.
I think the word you're looking for is common, not popular. XD
Even worse thing I realized not too long ago:
Celeste said something along the lines of wanting a royal death.
Thank you! 🎉❤
Nah fr it was sick
Chelsea's cosplay and energy were both perfect and immaculate, holy SHIT. As somebody who was around for the first (pre-release) English translation this was such a trip back to the past.
chelsea mentioning danganronpa on the podcast made me get into it for the first time !!! so glad she’s doing the kill count for it. loved this, so much fun and love chelsea’s comedic style. probably an all time fave kill count !!
"And a library, which is more Byakuya's speed, because he has glasses"
I absolutely love when Chelsea hosts
Absolutely in love with this whole kill count. The cosplay, the humor, Chelsea as the host, just perfection
Puhuhuhu! What a despairingly long kill count this is! Hope the numbers add up!
All jokes aside, Chelsea looks AWESOME in that Junko cosplay! And the prop wall is so good!
Side note I’m in love with the unofficial Ultimate titles Chelsea gave them all.
Chelsea absolutely nailing it. Your parents always walk in when the most out of context thing is happening
I've never played this game but I LOVED this episode. The cosplay, the jokes, the graphics, the knife meme, the last sequence, all gold. We need a sequel and I need to play this game!
Ye the second and third one is pretty good
Chelsea KILLING IT once again! She’s come so far since her first appearance on the kill count and I’d say now she is a pro! Can’t wait for Chelsea’s next Kill Count!
I never thought that Chelsea has heard of Danganronpa, too.
Words cannot express how excited I've been for this count
YOUR WRONG! Spoilers:
Alter Ego shouldn't have been on the kill count anyway because THEY'RE STILL ALIVE!!! (They saved Makoto because they uploaded themselves to the schools network!)
*BREAK*
Also they have a brief cameo in DR2
This episode was an absolute banger! The costume, the writing, and the delivery all top tier.
Chelsea absolutely SLAYING in the JUNKO cosplay, love it!
the upskirt bit killed me, thank you Chelsea lmfaoo

Never thought I would see you cover Danganronpa, yet here we are. Chelsea's Junko cosplay is excellent
That’s until the strikes end
Chelsea being so happy during the episode, does leave you with a happy feeling after finishing this episode. You can feel her love for this series.
Also, very cool that you are exploring other types of media, without having to do a second channel series, im actually happy for that.
Chelsea looks amazing in her Junko Cosplay! Love seeing Chelsea host the kill count and so excited for this one!
Me to! It’s so much fun 😄
Hitting me with a surprise ProZD had me rolling. Also, I love how Chelsea has her own ships lol
This was without a doubt, my favorite Kill Count ever lmao!! Petition for Chelsea to cover the next two games!
I really hope she covers the others
Maybe even the animes
But it's their choice what they do, I just happy this video exists

The most unexpected kill count yet WELL DESERVED kill count ever

Chelsea's cosplay game is on point!
Always gotta love a Chelsea Kill Count, I would love to see her cover the next two games!
One of my fave and most re-watchable killcounts! Keep it up
I’ve heard bits and pieces of this franchise but I’m happy to be more familiarized
How did you comment before it was released?

As a Danganronpa Fan the Get To the Numbers bit is by far my favorite. Incredible recreation and video! Great job to everyone that worked on this video!
You guys covering Danganronpa actually is so exciting to me. Chelsea is nailing the Junko look too.
This was fantastic! From the cosplay to the commentary, Chelsea killed it! Hope to see more video game kill counts.
I loved that kill count, and I would really love it if they did a kill count of the other two games in the future
And all the victims that were murdered or executed must have ingested too much Pepto Bismol, due to the fact that the blood is pink🙃
Well reason for that is if it was red they won't be able to have it over here and such etc, there's more to it of course. @@megspitzer9406
I love love love the direction Dead Meat is going, horror media in general is so vast and diverse.
I’ve never played this game but it does give me Corpse Party vibes and I think that might be good to cover
Me either, but I do own a t-shirt based on the second anime adaptation
I've never played the game, but I watched the abridged version of the anime here on TH-cam which I highly suggest because it's hilarious.
So proud of all the work Chelsea and the team put in! And the Junko cosplay absolutely slayed
There was so many good jokes in this one and Chelsea killed it with the delivery, I was thoroughly entertained 😂
I can't believe it took me so long to see this. I LOVE this game series and this video was incredible!!
I hope we get to experience the other two games on this channel some day!
Omg I love ProZd he’s such a funny creator. Glad he’s now apart of the kill count lore 😂
The ending and the puns are nothing short of spectacular. Justice for alter ego though JAMES 😡🫵
So glad I'm not the only one who wants justice for Alter Ego!
Chelsea a real fan, goin all out with the cosplay, defending chihiro, doin the kill count and the game justice. You a real queen for this one Chelsea and PLEASE make James play the games if you ever get the time!
>Real fan
>Refers to character that explicitly says he's a man, was born male, and actively says he doesn't like being feminine as "they"
Now, now. If there's any confusion, check the gender of Chihiro's Japanese Voice actor. [The answer may shock you].
@dragonproductions236 thats what im saying. Im glad i never got involved with the fandom if they were braindead enough to to blatantly ignore factual statements and observations in favor of "inclusivity"
@@dragonproductions236Because it's a highly controversial topic and not one that's really worth discussion in a silly kill count, this was simply the best possible middle ground.
@@PlayerZeroStart It's not controversial and it certainly is not worth taking a middle ground on, especially an unreasonable one like this.
