The well known "tourist traps" are the same everywhere but there are good and affordable places that are not so well known -unless you are a local of course.
Thanks Derek and Catherine for the extensive review of MGM grand we felt the same when we tried it back in October the price is basically the same as back pre pandemic but 1/ 2 the dishes are missing we were very surprised dec 2019 when we ate this brunch before we left and the dishes were basically endless with variety my how things have changed. Thanks for keeping us informed.
You two are soo adorable but this Buffet will not be on my list of places to ever adventure into. Thank you for your always honesty and Derek's expressions of what he loves and not love so much. Love you both.

We were there on Thursday - 3 days before you posted. The lunch food was a bit of a disappointment. However the staff was very attentive and accommodating. We were standing in line with a 16 year old who has cerebral palsy, and uses a walker. We never asked for any special accommodations, but one of the staff brought us to the front of line. So, kudos to the staff!! At the carving station, I got a nice piece of beef (nice and medium rare); but my husband got an over-done, dry end piece. Not sure why they would even serve that? Maybe they didn't have the seafood/sushi section when you were there, but it was a long line. And not worth it. Wish they would've refreshed the shrimp. the mussels were pretty good, and so were the crawfish, but it was not worth the wait in line.

Happy New Year to you!! I have not been to Las Vegas in a very long time it's been years. So I love watching your videos it gives me an insight of what's going on there. Knowing that the MGM is one of the older casinos there. It's sad to see that buffet so unorganized and so not clean. I would love to see a video on their weekend buffet let's see how much of a difference it would be compared of during the week.. Because the price you paid for the week day price was completely not worth it. Cause you don't know if it's because of the age of the hotel or the lack of staff they might not have the ability to bring out good food But they need to re look at what they're doing and revamp it.

Here’s an idea for you, do a stand alone video where you rank all of the buffets you’ve been to. Judge them on quality, food choices, price, etc. it would really help us vegas non regulars figure out where to eat at. Thx.

I love this video!!!! I miss Las Vegas, the last time I was there was in 2015, and we stayed at Bellagio, but we made a visit to MGM. It is a Beautiful Grand Casio and Hotel. I wondered what their Buffet was like; thank You so much for producing this informative video.

I would think that the soups would be with the salad and so forth but it's just funny the way they did things. Second round of beef look better but I would need a little au jus on mine. Did I not see any vegetables? Like I said if it could be put in an orderly fashion I think it would be okay for 28 bucks. Thanks for posting.
Another great video Derek and Catherine! I went to the MGM weekday brunch buffet in July. My table was in the “secret” room. I was disappointed because there was a lack of variety and the same breakfast foods were repeated in several areas of the buffet. I thought the desserts were tasty.
I think this Buffet would be more suited if you arrived 9:3010:00am ish. At least to me. There were a lot of breakfast items with the omelette station so it would be a good start. Then I think it is just a matter of picking and choosing other items like Derek's fried chicken, Catherine's pork etc. Overall I could get my money's worth taking my time picking and choosing and focusing on the really good things. Now with that being said there are numerous places ya'll have gone to that were better, and Vegas has so many places to choose from. so, from watching this video I think I would just eat at Noodles and Tacos again, lol. That place was the bomb!!!!!

I remember buffets in the 50s on. I remember late 50s at the Shahara hotel they did the buffet in the showroom and people would walk out with napkins full of food an early take out. LOL. One of the best was early Bellagio with king crab, lamb, lobsters and so much high end foods. Buffets will never be the same.
Just did the MGM buffet for a late brunch on the 1st - price was bumped to $51 per person and the selection was pared down even further from what you saw. I did not find the seafood but it was a lot busier than when you went so its possible I just missed it. The food I did have was ok with the meatloaf being the low point and the highlight for me being the desserts (bread pudding and apple cobbler). But at the end I still felt like it was the worst meal I had all weekend from a food quality and value perspective.

I had a late breakfast there on my last trip to Las Vegas and I enjoyed it very much. Service was great and I piged out. And for the price it was okay not great but okay.
Sorry, guys, but the fact that some of the stations were dirty (to me ) , with spills and drips not being wiped off around the serving pans , was a Big turnoff for me .

I ate there when I was last in Vegas. Wasn't amazing but fine if you're looking to sit down with family and friends on the strip. Price isn't ideal, but considering that it's on the Vegas strip, it's probably one of the more "fairly priced" places to get a sit-down meal.
MGM Grand...Looks like a good assortment of food. Lots of homestyle cookin. Gotta love that fried chicken eh? For $28 it seems well worth it. very affordable. Reminds of of the time my girlfriend kept bugging me to take her to one of those places where they make the food in front of you.....so I took her to SUBWAY!!!! lol lol Anyway, MGM has a great casino too. I hate they got rid of the Lions in a cage live on display. ok, next Hotel buffet?? Maybe Resorts World???? Thanks for sharing.

I saw a video for a buffet off the strip called the Krazy Buffet. The dinner has seafood. It is only $16.99 per person

I went to Golden Corral a few months ago and I gotta say, way better than the MGM Grand looks in this video.

They usually start taking the food down at 3. You can buy alcohol per drink.
To me the bottom line appears, Vegas just doesn't give a damn. I really appreciate your videos.
