Thai Airways International upgrade its product by refitting all cabin classes of 6 Boeing 747-400's.
Royal First Class has 9 seats with individual divider. The seats are 21 inch wide and can be reclined to 180 degree flat bed. The seats also equipped with 23 inch personal TV screen.
40 seats in Royal Silk Class located both in the main deck and upper deck. The seats are 20 inch wide with 15.4 inch TV screen and 170 degree recline.
325 seats in Economy Class with 34 inch pitch and 18 inch seat width. The seats are equipped with 10.6 inch TV screen and foot rest.
Air France is doing the same thing with its Boeings 747-400s but they are doing that much faster. Also Delta is refiting its Boeing 747-400s and they are doing that realy fast and Delta Boeings 747-400 will all have tvs on each seat by the next month.
A huge improvement over the old (and colourful) cabins that I am more used to. I flew on HS-TGY twice in 2003. In three weeks, I fly Thai again from London to Bangkok, and I hope that the aircraft is one of those with the new interior. Great video!
I agree with you. But I think the reason THAI is a lot slower is because those airlines have big fleets compared to THAI and they can have other aircrafts to replace the retrofitting ones. In the other hand, THAI cannot retrofit many aircrafts at the same time or else it will affect THAI's flight schedules.
All 6 aircrafts will be completed by mid 2013. 2 will be completed by OCT 2012
well done Thai! i have used the 747 from FCO to BKK but not yet tried the new refitted version, how long it will take to complete the refitting?
Can you tell me which six aircraft they are doing. We are taking a flight from Bangkok to Sydney to Bangkok. We will leave on the Bangkok flight 475 to SYD at 7:20 on the 12th of April and come back to Bangkok on the the 20th of April on Thai 472 at 3:55. Thank for your help. By the way I like your videos. Chris
TG's fleet have a total of 92 aircraft: 7 A300-600 / 4 A320-200(Thai Smile) / 25 A330-300 / 6 A340-600 / 1 A380-800 / 5 B737-400 / 16 B747-400 / 8 B777-200 / 6 B777-200ER / 6 B777-300 / 6 B777-300ER
I don't know how big is the Thai Airways fleet. But Air France fleet is composed with 380 aircrafts.
Good to know, thanks for the information. Have a flight from BKK to Frankfurt in July. Hope I can enjoy the new First Class since the B-777 300er unfortunately will not fly on July 6th (anymore?)....
This B747 are too old for flying, even the cabin and flight entertainment will increase retrofitted modern style..today world people airplane consumer know how old the aircraft coz they can surf by internet and lots information they can easy to find. TQ
The seat in Economy Class like Garuda Indonesia Boeing 737-800 but plus footrest
92 aircrafts its not big but some TG's 744s will be replaced by the a 380s.
You will take a very old Aircraft....the 475 has been build in 1984....
Anyway good luck and have fun....!
Mainly on European route
Except for Economy (34" pitch, 10.6" PTV AVOD), Thai disappoints with First and Business on the 747-400.
เราว่าเครื่อง747 สวยกว่าA380 อ ีกดูเป็นเครื่องบินมากกว่า A380 เหมือนอาไรไม่รุ้อ้วนๆป้อมๆ
Any idea which routes will the refitted 747 be deployed on?
lol looking at everything, economy seating looks so depressing. I traveled round trip to china this year and it costs 900, but if i had first class with the full recline, it would of been 7000. now, 6000 usd is a ton of money to be spent in china, and 6000 is so hard to save up.
when you sleep the whole time it's not that bad :P
any idea what routes the refitted versions will operate?
Anyone know if these are operating from Heathrow yet
Flying the revised 747 also from Munich
Fly to Milan???
i love my music
