- So as Mike waits for his crops to dry down, he decides to head on over to help out his inlaws with their crops. The John Deere and Case combines get to play together 🙂

Hey Mike - one thing I have learned from your channel and a few others is that farmers especially, it's neighbors helping neighbors.
Yeah right, keep living in your pretend world. They’re “neighbors” right up until the second they have the opportunity to bid land away from someone else.
So awesome seeing Ron show up like that. It’s a reminder that this is in fact a small world after all!

Good to see some Red combine s out there in the field. Hate to say this but Red machines cut so better samples than any combine out there. Own JD combines but the Red machine just cuts so much better and easier to work on!! Just saying. Hope y’all have a great harvest and be safe!! From La. USA!!
Never fear, Chapel will be running combines and tractors without ever going to the field. He will be running them from his smarter phone while at school.
That cab must be giant if Ron can fit in there with you. He's a big ol corn fed man.

Once harvest is done and with the Canada / US border now easier to cross a trip south to see a few fellow You Tubers may be a different type of brief holiday and change of pace.
Shop talk could take place with the Brown & Fast families as new shop construction is in the works for those farms.

When the video opened, the "view" through the windshield is a classic, then clipping along the road, and your voice explains the moisture of different cereals for storage. That my friend is a very satisfying view. I have some of the same memories. Thanks so much for the time you take to do this extra work during your day.
Meals in the field are 1 of the things I miss about harvest!

At 12:30 in the video the grain in the hopper looks pretty good to me. I have a limited background in agriculture but it's one of the cleanest I've seen!
That is a dirty sample with terrible looking wheat. Thats 100% feed wheat now and only good for chicken feed.
Hopefully you and the family can take time for a Thanksgiving meal even if it is in the field.
The forecast for this weekend looks nice so equipment will definitely be running in west central Saskatchewan.
Cool in the mornings but warms up through out the day.

@@jackbannock3458 In the Lloydminster area there are various canola crops waiting to be straight combined that unfortunately just haven't completely rippened.
Lots of bales to be picked up as cattle farmers certainly have more product available this year compared to last year.

Mike you showed us the grain sample in the tank on the John Deere if you're in-laws help you thrash it would be great to compare grain samples between the deer and the and the case
Run the grain through the drier and move it around It will knock the sprouts off
swath clockwise then your auger is on the outside. can skip ends when they get short and it will be similar to going back and forth.

My renters threw out about 5 bu on their wheat which would have almost paid the rent at todays prices

Hey mike! you recorded your video in 2160p50.... the 50 stands for the refresh rate.... i've noticed a bit of a stutter on a few of them until i decided to look at the quality settings.... the last 4 videos are running 50HZ instead of 60HZ

I've seen a few videos where they have the swathers set up so when you harvest the cart can drive down the swath to unload the combine....how hard is that to do?

Weird how long canola takes to dry up north. Down here it could rain an inch on a Monday and combining by Wednesday
Why not spray and straight cut. We farm north of Wadena and straight cut all wheat. 1cwrs 13-7 protein

That's tough for ripe crop to be sitting for 3 weeks wet... it hurts quality. That stinks!
Mike, from Pretoria, South Africa, a question: when wheat is swathed and then combined, do not loose much of the kernels?
It’s slightly better straight cutting because there’s less material other than grain (moog) but the separation capacity in combines nowadays can compensate for that.

Will Chapel have the opportunity to ride around with the northern Grand Parents and if so his mind may be thinking along the line of his mother that this red equipment is cool to ride in also.

Hey Mike -- What is the advantage of swathing grain versus straight cutting? There is no swathing in my area.
It drys faster . A faster process than waiting late in season to straight cut.

I am surprised Mike’s father in law didn’t kick him out of the field with his green machine. Most farmers are really devoted to the color of machines.

In Canada when you take grain to the elevator they buy and sell in metric tonnes which is 2200 lbs
