- Helping Tom & Rachel with the council notice part 2! In this episode dad is away.. leaving me to tackle this overgrown hedge in soggy weather conditions. It was a brutal cut and a brutal shift, but it's so rewarding to be able to take some stress off Tom & Rachel's shoulders. How has the city council not given Ben an award? He does so much work on so many things that the city should be taking care of but doesn’t. If nothing else the guy deserves a commendation.
The council would do it when it gets really bad and more people will compline but if you are like this home owner and cant do it they will do it for you for a silly high price charge and on top of that fining you for the pleaser.

I am appalled at dog owners who chuck waste in other people’s spaces, just like at the rec centre. It sits there until a hard working man goes out there and cleans for FREE and picks up what shouldnt be there. The work is hard enough without that added in. Fantastic work Ben.
No words can explain how much a mini chipper would help especially if you do more and more garden clearances. Blast the chip back into the hedge, no more tip runs. Great effort, nonetheless
Having chipped up everything in a very overgrown garden of a house I bought, I was thinking the same thing. The problem is size, anything with a decent wood diameter cutting capacity is going to be big, that probably means towing it on a trailer, unless you have power access they'd also need to take a generator, more weight and requires inflammable liquid transportation and storage, and unless the house owner has a use for a large amount of chipped organic material they'd still need to get rid of it, and whilst it takes up less space, they'd end up with very heavy bags.
I still think it's a good solution, but unless it was used most days, it would be a big expense that might takes years to pay for itself, so isn't practical for a very small business.
100% I know this but I just haven't got space for one at the moment, and it would most likely just get stolen. I hope in the near future we will get a decent one a trailer and have storage. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching
From what I've seen, the chippers take a lot of time to use. Doesn't seem practical to me.

yes and no. Im sure people want to help him, I do. But it is his company, his supervision - even if the work is non contractual, someone is bearing responsablity. So even if he wants help on the job, it might not be as simple.
Then working random people into your job for one day to never see them again or have some dimwit standing in your path all day...
Its a risk I wouldnt want to take.
I would have been completely exhausted 10 minutes in doing that huge job by myself. If I lived near you, I would be offering to help. Not sure how much help I would be, but i would still be offering. You are such an amazing example to your sweet boys.

You're a true working class hero! I hope Tom and Rachel find a way to keep the shrubbery under-control now that you've put all that effort into getting it to a safe state.
I cannot understand why the Council cannot assist these disabled/wheelchair/ or persons on crutches, with the overgrown hedges, rather than giving them violation notices. ALSO: people who have strokes, heart attacks etc. also need assistance. The Council should help them out. Ben you and your Dad did an awesome job on this property. Arthur is very lucky: he got sweets!
I can imagine taking that route all the time and having to cross to avoid the over growth. Now to have a clear path, saves time and possible injury from crossing a busy street. Great work!

That was absolutely the right thing to do to that overgrown shrubbery. It will soon make lush new growth again and with regular trimming, will look so much better.

I agree, shredders are loud but probably worth owning. You can use the grounds as mulch in the end.

Wow! All I can say is Wow! The amount of cutting, hauling, and cleaning up refuse and dog stuff was mind bending! You could really use a group of volunteers for stuff like this. And to businesses that rent chippers....here's something great you could do! Lend the Flawless crew a chipper when needed. Promote your business as well as doing a great service, usually to a senior. I'm a disabled senior who was a critical care nurse for decades and I really appreciate any help I get. I've been blessed with some awesome neighbors who have become friends and watch out for me. Like my own angel squad. You and your dad and brother and others are the angel squad for Flawless. Looks great and it will fill in nicely with next year's growth. And hopefully walkers will appreciate not going into the street. Sending a "Great Job" from midwest USA, near Chicago, Illinois.

Hi Ben, hope you’ll recover from aches and pains very soon. While watching your video in awe a thought came to me. I’m also following SB moving and like he goes round and find those who need help with their properties. He used a machine that looked like wheelie bin but had a shredders attached to it. He would pile all the branches before feeding them into this wheelie bin and vola! He avoided all the extra hardship collecting , loading and unloading etc.
