So glad the cicadas are done for now, it was intense this year in ATL… 2 of the 10 people you looked at definitely jacked your gear and past it back to other people on their team. The gear and tech today helps combat and resolve issues like that, although not full proof.
@@jameypricephoto pretty sure they're talking about the part 1 of the back to back 24hr race vlogs. I believe the shot was at Le Mans when you were panning through the pine trees to try and catch a shot of the Toyota. You got a really clean shot of the Toyota through the trees. Absolutely magnificent photo.
The camera manufactures need to come up with tech to prevent to use of cameras that are stolen. Like cell phones. At least in the pro bodies and lenses
Interesting story, but I would have liked to hear what are the precautions you or other photographers take now knowing this is quite common and what are the options. Worth another episode on that maybe!
Not much you can do! What am I supposed to do? It doesn’t happen everywhere. You just lock your gesr when you leave media center if you leave anything behind. Beyond that, not much I can do. If they really want to rob me, they well.

For the next episode I’d love to hear a story from Petit Le Mans. I don’t have a specific photo in mind, but it’s my hometown track and an event I look forward to every year!
Thanks for sharing. I had a camera and lens stolen at Kayalami last month, looking back, I think it was the same situation where people would buy a ticket with the aim to go steal some expensive equipment... So frustrating and sad.
There are special laptop locks. Or I will put it in a locker or lock it inside my camera bag, which is locked to a table. Depends on the event though. Some events we don’t need to worry about our gear.

I remember hearing in the 90s Monza was notorious for issues, photographers being harassed by police with Rottweiler dogs etc. Gear getting stolen.
My Flexotel pop-up village unit got broken into last year during the night at Le Mans. Camera's and other bits and pieces stolen... rough.
I remember this, and how angry it made me at the time.

@@jameypricephoto I remember stolen laptops being a problem at the Toronto Indycar races. The media center was quite open.
