This was an excellent documentary, thank you! I knew only a little about the Hussites, so it was a real treat to see the beautiful scenery & sites while learning.
Your voice has an ASMR quality too. :)
Good video.
Theodoric the Great next?
As a Czech, I approve your work. 10/10
Dekuji bracho!
Duuuude i just beat Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 days ago. Your timing is impeccable. Thanks David for your incredible work. ✊
Thank you brother! And you are right in time for KCDII (tho it's a shame they had to postpone)
i'm a simple woman, i hear KCD music = i subscribe.
What a great video!
As a Czech... Thank you for making this. Beautiful documentary. Your channel is criminally underrated.
Amazing work. I wish your content received more attention... Smaller creators like you make some of the best documentaries on this platform.
Thank you very very much!
Your channel is criminally underrated, should have atleast 10 times as many subscribers.
Very kind! Thank you
definitely. but it's getting there soon.
Jan Zizka really said “Nah, I’d win”
last time I was this early Jan Hus still believed he is protected by King Sigismund
I will hold off on giving my opinion on this before the Hawk Tuah Girl, but rest assured once she does I'll be back.
I heard she had some interesting things to say about Columbus
Using KCD music for this is just great
I was about to comment this, especially the use of the celebration song for Henry's wild night with the Priest of Uzhitz when talking about the Catholic Church at the time.
Last time I was this early Martin Luther hadn’t nailed his 95 theses yet
You are early enough for the first defenestration my friend
Can’t wait to Czech this out! ❤
The Hussite wars are fascinating. Multiple crusades thrown back by farmers with guns and wagons, hell yeah
Seriously a tale too strange for fiction
Small error: the New Town of Prague is on the east bank, encircling and enlarging the Old Town. The town under Prague Castle is the Small Town of Prague, todays Malá Strana, older than the New Town.
Threre's also a fourth town, the castle town, Hradčany, directly adjacent to the Prague Castle.
Awesome work! Very comprehensive and very well done. As a Czech historian I approve of this video. You may now approach windows with confidence again.
You truly bless us with these glorious videos, never would have expected a full on travel documentary but oh it’s great! Thank you again!
An amazing video!
Fun fact about the battle of Německý Brod: a famous Polish knight, Zawisza Czarny (the Black) of Garbów, took part in it on Sigismund's side and was taken prisoner by the Hussites (later released). Interestingly, Zawisza fought on the same side as Jan Žižka in the battle of Grunwald. He was also a member of the Polish delegation to the Council of Constance, where he defended Jan Hus and strongly opposed his condemnation and execution.
Also, when the Hussaties reached the Baltic Sea in 1433, they did so as Polish allies/mercenaries in a Polish-Teutonic war. The Hussites generally had a rather complex and multidimensional relationship with the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Dutchy of Lithuania. You could make a whole video just about the Lithuanian prince Sigismund Korybut (another Sigismund in this story) and his entanglement in the Hussite Revolution.
Thank you!
All I’m going to say is every time I read/watch something history related and you hear about the one eyed general they’re usually not someone you want to be messing around with
Henry has come to see us!
Best Euro history channel right now is an American, wtf Lads.
America #1
Face reveal fellas were going hard today. Extremely excited for this one, the Hussites are sick.

Empire builders come to see us

Good work!
ig I'll now play Kingdom Come Deliverance
Yooo one of my favorite historical events. Im working on a fantasy story set partly during a bloody religious civil war based on the hussite wars, and the albegensian crusade l. Also the 30 years war a bit.
Ah then you must've read Andrzej Sapkowski's Hussite books already
@@Empire-Builders no I have not heard of them yet. Are they good? because im tempted to get them now.
@@mikehulsman4735 Havent read yet, was hoping you could tell me lol
@@Empire-Builders damn lmao. Im reading reviews online and they intrigue me. One reviewe writes: Characters in the novel may express views that some readers might find offensive". Also this guy wrote the witcher series wow. Its quite cheap so I might get book 1. Ill let you know how it is if I decide to read it
Definitely join the Discord and lemme know
One side of my family history is German(ic) from Bohemia, but also not catholic. I feel like whenever the Hussites are talked about, non-Czech Hussitism and protestantism in the area deserves more investigation & I dislike the mythologization of the reformation in Bohemia as nationalist folklore - even if there is an aspect of that playing a role.
was this filmed in bohemia?
Watch & see ;)
Prague is truly the Most beautiful City in Europe in my eyes
Kingdom come deliverance music intro? Lol
CK3?
God is moravian rahhhh
First
I love being a no lifer
Very American perspective of the era.
can you do something on lusatians or silesians? its very interesting topic
I was unaware the goose was a symbol of hussites… I like geese. I like czechia.
Hussites I’m a little on the fence about.
That plushy you plopped down however… certainly was not a Huss goose. That was a white platypus. Perhaps a duck billed blanco seal, but certainly not a goose.
It is actually a species known as Karlstejn gift shop goose
@@Empire-Builders 😂😂 a fantastic watch. My first time to your channel, and man it did not disappoint. Two goose thumbs up!
