I am so glad I found you. I just finished getting my Acupuncture degree, and I have CPTSD and deal personally with addiction and I know it. I'm trying to heal myself while at the same time learning bc I want to help others. I lost my soul mate to heroin, years ago. My story is complex and intense and I am just now getting to the place where I can actually understand that everything I've been thru, has led me to this time, and is going to ultimately be for my good, but it's been a rocky road and all I have is gratitude. I'm going to specialize in trauma bc it's just what I know I need to do. Looking to learn from ppl that have gone before me. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and your amazing work.

So glad you are addressing trauma and addiction-- this is my niche too. Many of my clients who have begun addiction recovery have been dismayed that their PTSD is not understood in 12-step circles. Keep up your work educating about these co-occuring disorders- and yes, so treatable! I have seen healing from BOTH.

The trauma caused by fight flight is devastating if the patient is not allowed to talk about their experience. They will never heal and will always remain medicated. All they want is for someone they love and trust to listen to them and they are met with negative comments. They never receive what they always wanted and that's for someone else to understand this is what happened to me and this is why I am now a shell of a person.

I wonder, Dr. Jamie: Would EMDR be effective for healing ptsd of people who overcame cerebral palsy?

I meant, if that issue is not a contradiction for treatment?
