  • Adam O'Brien demonstrates and discusses his "Color and Shape" EMDR therapy set-up for optimally working with pre-verbal roots of shame in EMDR. Adam works on EMDR therapy author and trainer Dr. Jamie Marich in this video.
This video demonstration is not intended to replace proper training in EMDR therapy, nor is it designed to be a "Do It Yourself" EMDR video. Proper EMDR therapy must be facilitated by a trained, professional clinician.
This video is meant to be a teaching device for clinicians, and an informational video for clients on what they may be able to expect from EMDR and related interventions.

I have an open mind and trust that I'll understand why they're sitting that close by the end of the video❤

interesting. i imagine this is helpful for all preverbal trauma/ beliefs. Shape thing seems like NLP technique. Might be interesting to end with the shape that was related to PC or whatever it turned into.

Can anyone explain me about shape and color of the preverbal shame?
I just can think about it like finding a metaphorical vision of it.
For instance, if I had picture my shame like a little witch being humilliated, harassed, mocked and persecuted, would I had to picture myself with three years old living it? That vision has been developed by the feelings I always had and the literature of being outcasted. Will the shape would be a flame and the color orange?
I'm trying to know how to picture it out.
    Thanks

Thanks for this! I'm wondering why the sets were so long? Is that strategic with pre-verbal memories?
