- Sam Bell reviews the Supro Blues King 12. A combo amplifier that captures the vintage Supro amp tone that helped sculpt the sound of early electric Rock & Roll and the British Invasion of the 1960s. The “single-ended” Class-A tube power amp found in the Blues King provides the raw tonal characteristics and remarkable touch sensitivity of these mid-century combos, while delivering a full 15 watts of 6L6 tube power.

This was by far the most useful review I have found on this amp. I'm really glad you played clean with the reverb up. A lot of the other reviews just jack up the volume and burn, which is nice, but I always want to hear what it sounds like clean first. Thanks.

He made this amp sound so much better than all other demonstrated. Thats how i hoped it would sound.
This is an outstanding review of a great sounding amp--wish more reviewers would adopt this approach to combo amp reviews-you have covered a great expanse of the various tones achievable with all of the various variations possible from the controls-well done!!
If that’s a small amp I have done the comparative math and according to my calculations he’s approximately 3’5 inches tall. Sounds great though.

I own 2 Supro amps, and 2 Supro guitars - so no one can say I'm not a fan BUT to my ears although the CLEANS are great!! Easily comparable to Vox and Ampeg it's just the GAINS on both amps I don't like - It sound screechy and lacks depth. No fear, I have pedals to take care of that !! The USA Supro customer support is also excellent!! guys over there very friendly and informative.

how does it hold up to your other amps and do you think that it is loud enough clean for me to practice with my band
I can’t answer how it will sound with your band because I’m a solo practitioner. But Supro amps on a whole great amps . I have several amps i love them all
By far the best demo of this amp (we’ve seen 🎸). Would be nice with a built in tremolo and extension cab socket but they’re not a deal breaker. Anyone considering a Blues Jr should A/B the BK12.
Great demo. Anyone wanting to show off their amp can take a lesson from this reviewer. Start clean and proceed to high gain. Makes perfect sense for a listener.

Even though this amp is discontinued..... This video was what made me decide to pull the trigger. Great demo and playing. Other Videos didn't know how to set the amp up right. Went for the wrong tones to sell the amp.

Blues JR suck you will not keep it. Bass is horrible
@@michaeldstern I had a USA made Blues Jr (earliest verison, brand new) and I fucking hated the amount of bass it kicked out. I had it dialed all the way back, too. Muddied the tone too much.

I think they made a big mistake putting the amp in front so it looks bigger than what it really is.

Bluesy low to mid gain is nice but too much, it sounds really nice when on weed.

perspective - he's sitting behind it - he's further away so he looks smaller. Funnily enough, this is the EXACT technique they used in the lord of the rings movies to make the hobbits look small.
