LaVance is crazy talented. His low notes were great in this, but he can also blow you away with high notes--insane range. Check out the PMJ cover of Halo.
I'm 55 and only discovered PMJ a couple of years ago. Went to see them at Barrowlands, Glasgow and now going to see them again at Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow on May 4th. I can honestly say their music really touches my soul. Every arrangement is absolutely beautiful. I Can't wait for May 4th.
No, guys, this is a masterpiece. From the runs, to the diction, and the amazing control from them all. I am particulary impressed by the bass Lavance Colley, the tenor Von Smith, and the saprano Olivia Kuper Harris. The three were holding thier parts fantastically , blending with each other so exceptionally well, and creating a beautiful sound for the alto Sara Niemietz to blossom through... I have been left in tears and I will be listening to this over and over again for quite some time to come. I am truly grateful for having the privilege to listen to this wonderful song.
Wow that surround sound effect is just mindblowing. Wearing headphones with eyes closed literally feels like standing between them. That contrast in voices. Just awesome.
still wonderful after all those years beautiful voices beautiful arrangement and one of the smoothes, softest, warmest Mister Bassmen I've ever heared.
Von Smith is possibly the greatest harmonizer who ever lived. He can match his voice to perfectly match anyones. So good. Their harmonies overall are just so precise.
The original version may be iconic for PMJ, but this do-wop acapella is a masterful performance worthy of its own all-star slot, alongside or even instead of the original. It's very, very good and every time it comes it makes me dive into all the PMJ Doo-wops and Acapellas because I crave more. To all 4 performers and the arrangers: You EACH knocked it out of the park here. Sara's tone is lovely and her fun embellishments are well done. LaVance anchors things so nicely, makes a solid and soulful foundation of the song. And the harmonies - blend so very well together as if Olivia and Von were one supernaturally layered voice. Never thought a - is it a falsetto Von's doing or just ridiculously high tenor? Whichever, never thought it would be half of such a good harmony, it would not be enough on its own though, Olivia's an equal, supportive partner with her own very lovely tone. Thanks for this, guys, one of my faves for years.
I could listen to (and watch...) Sara Niemietz forever. I like that she's not only a fantastic vocalist, but a fantastic performer who expresses her material so well, and so naturally. Haley Reinhart, Hannah Gill, Casey Abrams, Mykal Kilgore, Von Smith and Robyn Anderson are some others who share this trait (off the top of my head), but it's next level entertainment when the stage presence matches the vocal performance.
I agree completely. The first time I saw Sara perform Hey Ya was like being in the perfect bubble bath with wine and a good book.: just sit back and enjoy the whole thing.
@Zeke Polken I consciously left out Gatti. Gatti's one of my favorites vocally, (she's also drop dead gorgeous) but I don't think she has the same type of stage presence as Niemietz and some others. I rate Gatti higher than Robyn for example, in terms of pure vocal performance. But Robyn is the better on camera performer, because every little shimmy, every little tweak of her brow is a performance that oozes personality. It's simultaneously a show, a performance, but also natural. The same goes for Niemietz, Mykal etc. Gatti feels natural, but not showy. Cook, Gunhild etc feel showy, but deliberate. It's rare when it feels both showlike, but also natural.
I cant stop and I won t stop!... watching this video and listening to this song. Great arrangement, love the front singer Sara Niemietz. So much love, passion and harmony.
Scott Bradlee's mission is realized again - I have never been able to tolerate this song in it's original form and completely ADORE this rendition. Thank you!
That's it, I'm definitly in love with Sara Niemietz. Her voice of course, but even more her smiles ! You can actually here her happiness appearing when she smiles. She's just....seeing her so full of cheer joy make my heart so feel like it's about to burst
This is awesome. I love that Scott does these kind of arrangements too. He's always improving and expanding his musicality. That's why he's had so much success. And he picks so many talents and styles too. Never change Scott. ❤
I saw the Europe tour sing this in Edinburgh back in February and loved it then and love this version too, really lets the talented voices shine. Love the “Scott Bradlee loves ya” line great reference snuck in there
The very best of PMJ - and it's not easy to be the best there.... More like that with Sara and Olivia!!!!!!!! and of course the others. The base singer is amazing too.
I didn't see an acapella coming. I'm diggin' it. 1:35 is one of the best things I've ever heard you guys do. Everyone looking at the camera for it - priceless.
The original cover of this song with Robyn was what got me hooked on PMJ. Thanks Scott and Co for making pop music swing again and keep up the fantastic work!!
Lawdy! Both versions are perfection. We blast the other for fun and this one is just whoa! Sara is so unique...beautiful magic. Love listening to her sing Don't Dream It's Over.
Bob Bobsen It isn't a reaction by Miley, but Rebecca Vocal Athlete did a reaction to this song. I found it a true joy to watch. Check it out . th-cam.com/video/DsGu8VOnIW0/w-d-xo.html
This is probably my favourite cover of yours... I love it and I can't stop replaying it; Sara's voice is on fleek as well as everyone else's and you can see they are enjoying it so much. I just love to watch them sing, they convey so much joy and emotion. And those backup harmonies really make it special. Please, more acapella covers!
Oh God mike- rayner - I pulled down to say exactly the same thing - and then I saw your comment - and you're right - it just needs one word and that's the word. Brilliant all y'all PMJ creators.
This is beautiful in its simplicity and authenticity 😄 I've met each of them and they're all so awesome to their fans 😊 Looking forward to next Thursday!
Wow... I'm in awe. Love the black/white filter for the video.. Thank you Sara,, Von , Olivia and Lavonce... and Of course Mr. Bradlee... Simply wonderful.
Our 4th PMJ concert. This time in Raleigh NC -- they had the crowd standing and crying. It was an amazing moment. It took till the second time through the refrain to catch all of the word changes, but it was an unforgettable moment. Thank you.
So great. The voices blend so well. Of course Sara's personality shows through and makes me happy. Keep on keepin' on. I hope it was half as fun to do as it is to watch. I love this.
YES YES YES YES YES. I couldn't wait to see this once the album came out, and it's even better than I could've imagined. It's so simple, yet so beautiful. Another favorite to add to the collection!
Another fantastic version of a song I'd previously dismissed as mostly pop fluff. Just great listening to this. And as always, Sara seems to be having the best time recording this.
The guy to the right 's voice... So deep, smooth and delicate. I feel like I'm smothered in love, safety and care
Aiba Ratna That’s LaVance Colley. He was the tour show’s MC, then started belting them out with his awesome voice and it never stopped.
LaVance is crazy talented. His low notes were great in this, but he can also blow you away with high notes--insane range. Check out the PMJ cover of Halo.
He can sing high notes too
Just in case anyone needed the link for listening to LaVance nailing it with Halo:

@@EvanGadol Easily my favorite singer on PMJ - his range is as insane as his control

this. Well said!
I agree, it's EXTREMELY good.
Your response is nearly as beautiful as the performance.
"forget the haters cause Scott Bradlee loves ya!" Awesome
it is and i do
Reminds me of the days when this channel was named like that :)
Love that Brilliant SCOTTBRADLEE!!!!!Dont stop!♥️⭐️
We love you too Scott Bradlee!!
Second this.
Why haven't these 4 people done more of these songs in this style??? They fit so well together........
the response is: Scot Bradlee is a bloody genius
Wow that surround sound effect is just mindblowing.
Wearing headphones with eyes closed literally feels like standing between them.
That contrast in voices.
Just awesome.
THANK YOU for posting this. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!
I literally did it after reading your comment...
MINDBLOWN!
I thought its Pentatonix LOL if I didn't see the title I will exactly think of Ptx
Asha Mae p
I plugged in headphones as soon as you did this. This is brilliant
just one word.... Brilliant

It sounds good but I prefer their first cover of We Can’t Stop.
th-cam.com/video/pXYWDtXbBB0/w-d-xo.html
My thoughts exactly. Another horrible pop song recreate into something outstanding.
mike- rayner-videos.... that’s four
+1 I can't stand the lyrics but they could sing anything and I would listed to their beautiful voices and ignore the lyrics! ;-)
Everyone looks so happy doing this. What a nice harmony
Von, Oliva, Sara, and LaVance. A combo I didn’t know I needed in my life
still wonderful after all those years
beautiful voices
beautiful arrangement
and one of the smoothes, softest, warmest Mister Bassmen I've ever heared.
What synchronicity they have as choir and group. I can not stop admiring myself, when I listen to them. They are great!!
So totally memorizing
Ouhhh it remembers so much!
I think you meant mesmerizing, which I agree it totally is
Von Smith is possibly the greatest harmonizer who ever lived. He can match his voice to perfectly match anyones. So good. Their harmonies overall are just so precise.
Postmodern jukebox never fails to impress me ,,,,,,,,,, well done once again

Olivia is well on her way to joining that list.
I agree completely. The first time I saw Sara perform Hey Ya was like being in the perfect bubble bath with wine and a good book.: just sit back and enjoy the whole thing.
Bryce Katz Totally agree. I think I've gone crossed eyed trying to watch her and Sara at the same time in the Straight Up video.
You forgot to mention the absolute best at what you're describing - Cristina Gatti.
@Zeke Polken
I consciously left out Gatti. Gatti's one of my favorites vocally, (she's also drop dead gorgeous) but I don't think she has the same type of stage presence as Niemietz and some others. Scott Bradlee you are genius. Artists...too! Amazing.
I cant stop and I won t stop!... watching this video and listening to this song. Great arrangement, love the front singer Sara Niemietz. So much love, passion and harmony.
That key change!!! You guys are amazing!!!
A brilliant piece of singing and, even better, the performers look like they are thoroughly enjoying themselves!
The voices are just amazing
Scott Bradlee's mission is realized again - I have never been able to tolerate this song in it's original form and completely ADORE this rendition. Thank you!

Just proves real talent can make even the reading of a newspaper/Miley song sound good.
Best arrangement in a long time. Fantastic. So tight on the harmonies. Amazing.
There is such a thing as good luck and a fair breeze, being born under a lucky star, a favourable planetary alignment and PMJ. Divine becomes reality.
What else can be said? Absolutely amazing! Saw them perform this live in Charlottesville, VA.
I got to hear this version live by the same people and I cant tell a difference. Magnificent
They are all just feelin it and I'm feelin it. Repeat.
I was watching this with big smile on my face and I didn't even notice until it was over. So pretty!
The enjoyment they take from singing together is so wholesome... and their voices blend together so perfectly it's so pleasing to the ear!
The other song (also from pmj) was amazing.....but this song......MIND BLOWN!
The guy on the left. Watching his facial expressions is like reading the score. Delightful to watch
Now I'm in tears...
This is awesome. I love that Scott does these kind of arrangements too. He's always improving and expanding his musicality. That's why he's had so much success. And he picks so many talents and styles too. Never change Scott. ❤
Cannot wait to see PMJ at the Siler Legacy tomorrow night ....... they are fabulous!
Please please please do more acapella versions! SO GOOD! Great job guys!
Talk about chemistry. This is absolutely stunning.
So glad to see more of Von Smith, I love him so much!!
I've spent my night listening to the problems in Europe. And this change. This song.
I just.
It's just what I needed.
I saw the Europe tour sing this in Edinburgh back in February and loved it then and love this version too, really lets the talented voices shine. Love the “Scott Bradlee loves ya” line great reference snuck in there
REALLY. No beat boxer? No ungodly post processing. And it sounds GREAT! I love it!
The chemistry here is bloody brilliant! Bravo!!!!!
The Voice from Heaven!
Adoro, adoro, adoro. I can´t stop listening this. You are fantastic vocalist. Amazing.
PMJ performed this tune at The Albert Hall in Manchester, England and I fell in love!
Sara is such a wonderful singer. It may be that PMJ is the very best place for her to show off her talents.
Silk. Oh so silk. Awesome job, everyone involved.
Cor the guy on the right has an amazing voice, so smooth
The build up and release from 2:32-2:45 makes me swoon. Fabulous arrangement all the way around!
I am down for more Acapella. It's was amazing plus who they choice to sing together was interesting, but it was amazing. Blew my mind
For such an unclean song, Post Modern Jukebox makes it bliss in the 1950's style. Good job, crew!
Unclean?
Hi can anyone explain why this is unclean? (I never heard the original)
Would be fun to transport it back in time and plant it for people to find. Especially for lgbt folks
Are you talking about "everyone trying to get a line in the bathroom", which is reference to cocaine? Not that unclean... it's a party with rockstars.
Silk purse from a sows ear, very well done PMJ. I can't stop singing this, such a fantastic rendition.
I can't stop listening to this ! And singing along. It's fabulous ! Love Von Smith !
PMJ at their very best. Absolutely perfect!!
Lawdy! Both versions are perfection. We blast the other for fun and this one is just whoa! Sara is so unique...beautiful magic. Love listening to her sing Don't Dream It's Over.
Saw this live last night and it was AMAZING!!!! No words, definitely my favorite concert I've attended to date
Love the Barbershop style with Lead in second highest spot. Beautiful!
OMG another PMJ bunch of artists to follow. Bravo.
Just another time I wish for a "Artists react to their PMJ-Covers"-video.
Bob Bobsen I saw a video about Katy Perry reacting to fan covers
And there was Teenage dream by post modern
so...what was her reaction like?
Oh, sorry it was "Last Friday Night"
Bob Bobsen It isn't a reaction by Miley, but Rebecca Vocal Athlete did a reaction to this song. I found it a true joy to watch. Check it out .

It is so wonderful to see PMJ crew having fun and singing... and remember boys and girls 1:35 "Forget the haters because Scott Bradley Loves ya!"

This is beautiful in its simplicity and authenticity 😄 I've met each of them and they're all so awesome to their fans 😊 Looking forward to next Thursday!
What is great about today?
DANG! They knocked it out of the park. Thanks Scott, Jesse, Matt, Von, Olivia, and LaVance. I vote for more like this! Much love.
Saw this live, it was the most beautiful thing ever ❤❤
Amazing. They did this song as an encore at the Chicago show. This is your new signature song.
So much work into this and so beautifully sung! A-mazing!
Thank you for mixing this with the mics in the correct position. It makes it so much better.
It felt like they were reminiscing one of the best days of their youth
To this day I still think this one of the best that PMJ has to offer. Thank you all! You just make music better!
I'm crying... it's beautiful. Thank you PMJ. Thank you Sara, Olivia, Von, LaVance.
Wow... I'm in awe. Love the black/white filter for the video.. Thank you Sara,, Von , Olivia and Lavonce... and Of course Mr. Bradlee... Simply wonderful.
Sara can sing whatever she wants and it's always going to be perfect
Our 4th PMJ concert. This time in Raleigh NC -- they had the crowd standing and crying. It was an amazing moment. It took till the second time through the refrain to catch all of the word changes, but it was an unforgettable moment. Thank you.
It sucks I can only like this once. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever watched.
Classic PMJ! Awesome. Extra points for the Scott Bradlee loves ya shout out.
Absolutely awesome, but listening to Sara always gives me a case of the happy ears.
I love this and the non acapella one so much
Can't get enough of PMJ!!!!!!
Me toooo :D
These versions are so clever ......................pls .................don't stop !
So great. The voices blend so well. Of course Sara's personality shows through and makes me happy. Keep on keepin' on. I hope it was half as fun to do as it is to watch. I love this.
Marvellous gem from 4 fantastic jewels. Thanks a lot for the bliss from the sky. Love ya all very much.
Loved the original version with Robyn, but this version is just as good if not better! We need more Acapella for sure though!
Angels would be jealous of this if they could hear it ! So dreamy and heavenly.. made my day ! thanks :D
YES YES YES YES YES.
I couldn't wait to see this once the album came out, and it's even better than I could've imagined. It's so simple, yet so beautiful. Another favorite to add to the collection!
Wow... I'm reduced to tears... mop me up please.
Brilliant.
I would definitely pay to see this live.
Perfeito !!!!!! muito bonito.... um prazer assistir e ouvir....tudo perfeito
I saw these four when they came to Augusta, GA. It was an excellent show I can't wait for them to come back to the area.
That lady with the floral Chinese inspired dress - I love her voice! Great voice!
Just found out her name - Sara - truly beautiful voice!
von smith and lavance together, just great!
How strange this video has so few views. Four amazing people doing an amazing job! More acapella would be nice :)
Another fantastic version of a song I'd previously dismissed as mostly pop fluff. Just great listening to this. And as always, Sara seems to be having the best time recording this.
Magnifico... necesito más de estas interpretaciones, en coro, brindan gran satisfacción a los sentidos...
WOW. What can I say. Your talent is endless. This is one of the best.
Never heard Sara sing anything I didn't love. She is my favorite!
The energy from the one second from the left is lovely. Great enthusiasm, its infectious.
