My husband worked in food service for many years (cook and manager). The stories he told me when he got home always made me question if they were real or not. I just don't understand why some people always have to be the a@@hole and act all crazy.

Paper destruction company that sounds like "fuck-it". We had a guy at our location, new kid, who had a finger crush-severed on his work truck. He got written up for calling 9-11 instead of driving himself to the hospital. Then L&I only gave him $4750 for his finger. Another guy was on top of his truck trying to clear a jam, which you're never supposed to do. (no ladder or means of climbing up, so you have to monkey your way up) On the way down he fell, and landed on the broken broom stick he was using. Went right up the pooper. Permanently destroyed any function below the waist, among other things. Less than two weeks later, another guy was clearing a jam by hand on top of his truck, and left it running. As soon as the jam cleared, the machine grabbed his hand. It ripped his arm off at the elbow, and took the skin off up to the shoulder. He fell 15ft off the truck, his the hood, and then the pavement head first. At least he did it at a VA hospital, and an ex-corpsman was coming in for his appointment, and saw it. Put a tourniquet on and dragged him into the lobby on the spot. Guy was a few weeks from his wedding, too. He was fired for unapproved clearing of a jam.
It's nice to hear a story I can relate to. I used to work for Staples as a cashier for 5 years and the in their copy center for 7. Our check processing procedures were HORRIBLE!!!!! I hated excepting checks. They were the worse!
Man whenever I hear these stories on people’s jobs reminds me when I was a medical assistant working at a urgent care. The medical field is crooked and treats there workers like shit I would say it was only my job but all my friends complained about most of the same things I did

Almost every single facility, it’s about finding the least crooked one that wasn’t going to boot you or make you take a furlough for not using sick days and other shit instead of paying you back for every single day you haven’t used in years. Lots of companies do it because they have many people collecting at once and they can’t handle the big ass payments at once or don’t want to and will find any reason to not pay out every chance they can. Real devious schemes that have no doubt gotten worse since covid as times are stressed and people are overworked and some are no doubt trying to line their pockets and dip.
Nursing homes get it the worst here. Almost all of them trap old people to collect the majority of their ssi checks because “they can’t be trusted with it” I know an insane amount of elderly people around central Illinois that are getting $50-100 out of their ssi and or pension checks and some of these people, have BIG CHECKS. And many of them are very competent mentally just physically held back and they never say they are okay to be released from care because they’re cyphening endless dollars from the most helpless of people
When I am given a location, I check Google Maps to get a quick glance at the routes and major intersections, and then I make my way to the place without ever looking at the app again. Hell, I used to have a wall map of my city where I'd do the same thing. So I know how to get around. My GF on the other hand relies 100% on GPS to tell her where to go in the city she's been in for nearly 30 years. Like she never learned to know where certain intersections are and how they relate to other landmarks. What the hell is wrong with people these days?

I wonder what people did before the existence of the GPS? Oh wait I lived it, I’m fine. In fact even after the existence of it I still didn’t use one until a few years ago, even then only as a convenience. I still routinely navigate unfamiliar areas without one... sometimes they’ve gotten me lost, tried having me turn off a in the middle of a bridge, refuse to reroute when the route it wants me to take is closed for whatever reason.
I work at Wal-Mart in a smallish supercenter. So one day I'm getting started with my shift. I always clean the bathrooms straight away. So I just finished the men's restroom and started with the wemons. Which was like 10 feet away. So I went back to my cart to get a spray bottle and there on the floor was a trail of SHIT.. Thick goopy chunky creamy poop. I follow the trail and it goes from service desk to the men's bath room. I push open the door and OMG there was poop going all through the bathroom to the back stall.. Inside was an older guy calling his wife saying he shit himself.... I had to SHUT down the bathroom and let his wife go in and help him. When I finally got into tvat stall. OMG IT was. Poop everywhere!!! Floor walls toilet hand rail to dispenser.... Every thing had poop on it.... Yep that was how my morning was!!! I felt sorry for the old guy.
That screwdriver made me incoherently angry. I had to dismantle my xbox because the "professional repair shop" I sent it to failed to realize that if you remove the heat sink, you HAVE to put new thermal compound on it. 🤦🏻♀️Fuck T8 drivers.

Everyone was glad that they had a rookie they could foist THAT job off on. I'm the type of person that typically only needs about 10 minutes to shower and get ready for bed. Not that night. I spent at least an hour and a half in the shower, and went through all the shower products I owned. Then I quit the next day. NEVER AGAIN.
The Pooh story is actually fairly comment incident to happen at businesses that groups of mentally handicapped people are brought to happened to me back when I was in high school when I worked at a movie theater definitely a habit of mental illness for sure I only know who actually did the deed that day because the group of mentally handicapped people that came in that day also went to my high school and where a group of brothers who were all mentally handicapped and they did the same thing at school sometimes

I don't know about the states, but in my area of Canada, if an item under $10 rings up at the wrong price, you get it free. There's a limit of three or four, but you obviously have to have them there waiting to be rung up. The cashier can handle this on her own, without a manager of sending you to customer service. Walmart, Canadian Tire, and all of our major grocery stores have this policy!

When I tried to eat it it didn't taste all that great and I was already kind of full, then I started thinking it looked kind of like poop, and it even moved sort of like poop, so that destroyed any chance I had of finishing it XD
