not sure if you guys cares but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend recently :)
you do the best rollin bed liner ive seen, between the herculiner and your technique it looks the best. herculiner should send you a fat check. thanks for an in depth video. great job!
You did a really nice job. I watched 2 Herculiner videos and they look so bad I almost gave up on it. But watching yours I will do it myself now. Thanks for doing this the right way!!!
Nice job...just bought a used 2010 Silverado with no bed liner. My old 2005 Silverado had a coated bed that I gave to spray jobs to. I'm going to try the Herculiner on the 2010. Nice job.
I appreciate the video thanks for posting this! I have a 2019 Silverado I’m currently deciding what product to use on, and leaning towards Herculiner for sure as there is no mixing, etc. I’ll use a tray, and tape and cover everything because otherwise I’ll get it everywhere, but you showed how easy it is to work with. Thanks again. 👍
Looks amazing!!!! I’m gonna do this to my truck bed soon on my Dodge just gotta find the right day to!!! I’ve been watching videos to see how others are doing it and wow!!!! I love it!!!!!! You did great!!! Looks professionally done!!!!!
Looks good man. I have a 2018 tundra that i actually use as a truck. I keep the body paint like new but I've already beat the bed into primer and metal in some spots. I was go going to pay big money to have this done but after watching this video I believe I'll just do it myself.
Its about weight and durability, they can do it but its an additional 20 pounds or so and then they are liable for the liner failing when someone shovels out whatever on the daily.
@@PermacultureLongboarder yeah - weight is critical to vehicle manufacturing, as they shave pounds as best possible for fuel economy and cost. Why do you think Ford went Aluminum? The new GM carbon bed will eliminate the need for this anyway. They get reviewed poorly if any part fails, including paint and especially if something were to rust or delaminate (peel), etc..
I only three suggestions. One, I’d try rolling it on out of direct sunlight to prevent it from drying quickly, two I would peel the tape off right after your last coat to prevent it tearing and leaving little pieces, and finally keep us posted on this stuff! Lol. Great video man!
Durabak sucks, Duplicolor sucks.... Herculiner has the most texture and is very thick and strong. Try to do 2 coats if you can. 1 coat on a bare bed isn't going to give you thick enough protection. I'd buy 2 gallons and do 3 coats to be safe. Let dry between coats. Herculiner is definitely a good product. You must scuff the paint heavily and clean with acetone or it won't stick.
M Barilla id give 2-3 coats on the bottom of the bed and only one on the side walls and bed rails maybe 2 on the tailgate rail! That way you mite be able to get away with only one gallon! Theres no need to apply 3 coats on the sidewalls
Thank you for this video. I subscribed to your channel. This was very informative. Also thanks for the hint about longbeds about to do this to my 99 Dodge Ram
I took mine pickup to a professional Rhino bed liner dealer ~ MAN ITS EXCELLENT 👍 The pickup is 2000 Chevy Silverado. It was done in the Rhino spray liner 21yrs ago! It has never flake, peel, cracked, nor wear off! it kinda faded a little to a dark gray and not the tar black color any more But Its Awesome > It was worth every cent i paid for having it done PROFESSIONAL ! Only way is sand blast the bed to give the metal texture for the liner to hold ! Then they splatter it, with a smooth texture. then spray paint it
Pretty sure this one turned out looking fine because he did it on top of the old liner. It will Probably peel though when the old liner starts peeling. I always heard you have to peel the old liner to apply another one.
My friend and I did Herculiner on his 96 Silverado back when the stuff first came out in the 90s. It took two gallons to make the long bed look right. Thing was up in Colorado, the UV rays beat it down to a grey color pretty quick. I did my S10 with Durabak. It's about twice the cost, but it comes in colors and has a UV stabilizer. I still have to re coat it every other year. Haven't done so since 2011 and it's looking pretty rough. The Linex on my Suburban has held up extremely well in the 3 years since I had them spray it. Like you say, if you're willing to DIY, there are options out there that don't require a compressor or sprayer.
Personally I wouldn't do it with this brand because it will lose its shine with time. Also it's super rough and grainy. I would use raptor liner. It's more like line x but it cost more as well.
Make sure you probably cleaned it and went with a cleaner that removes waxes and oil that have built up. It'll make it so that it bonds the best it can
@@stevenford4313 turned out real good tbh and is holding nice but I don’t haul very much. Maybe just some furniture here and there. With my bed cover I don’t see having to replace anytime soon tho and I’m in Michigan with terrible winters so I recommend it for sure
Doing my today and did not get one drop of that crap on me. Not sure why everyone is covered in bedliner when done. Put the roller on an extension pole and you can just stand at the tailgate and do 90% of it. Most broom poles are the standard thread as the paint roller and will work too. Theres zero reason the have to climb into the bed to do any of this. Then lean over the side of the bed and hit tight corners with the brush.
i prefer the paint rather than the spray Its thicker LOOKEN GOOD MAN > Only thing it really needs bare metal, if the paint flakes so does the bed liner > The Rhino sand blasted the bed then spray it, But that was 500 dollars 18 yrs like the day they did it he hee LOOKS BRAND NEW GOOD JOB
So just curious how long was the original liner on there before it started fading White? Also did you consider going with raptor vs herculiner or did you just stay with herculiner cuz that's what you had on there?
The original herculiner was on there since 2009-10 so around 7-8 years but I used the truck to haul the whole time. I probably fades off completely to a flat color within a year if its left out in the sun alot. Ive had that extra kit in storage for a long time thats why I used it.
2:35 my guy tooted 😂😂🙌💀
He sure did.
Good job. Well done. Keep that DIY spirit alive. You know that our fathers and grandfathers never paid for anything they could DIY.
Dude ,you have any ideal how many custom shops are side eyeing you now?!? And 40 people that disliked this video are straight Busters.
lol, its funny you say that, I thought the same thing just the other day. Thank you for the support.
You do a great teachings! Great job! Now tell me how you got that tailgate latch on the inside of bed, THAT IS AWESOME!!!
Another pro tip- peel your masking tape off while it's still wet, to get a much cleaner line

Was planning on taking my plastic bed liner out and doing herculiner this spring, ill use this as a reference, looks very good, thx.
Invest in a rolling pan to put paint liner evenly on roller
Lol right?! Who in their right mind would do it like this.
Looks great. I did it to the inside of my enclosed trailer. Now, on a stepping board for the trailer.
Well done bro. Looks amazing. And like you said it's all about saving mula and doing it your self. Love it
Looks good man, you did a really good job. Im about to do the same on the inside of my 94 land cruiser

Did you ever line the bed of your truck?
Good job primo! It looks real good 👍
I like that you did the tops of the bed rails!
Thanks bro for keeping the DYI spirit alive .. like you said why pay somebody else 400$.
That's nothing I live in socal they were charging me $650-750 to RESPRAY my bed liner. Definitely gonna do it myself
Going to pick some up next pay check. Thanks
Thanks. It was good to see it done from your point of view. Really got a feel for how to do it and the difficulty level.

I wish to see many of beds after 10 years after the bed liner been used and how hard used.
idk why they don't do this at the factory? On all vehicles and under coat em as well, Build em cheap sell them high
job security... Its ridiculous as most cars have a protective coating...

Bout to do this to my Ford Ranger, thanks for the vid man

I’m thinking of trying this out. The factory coating on my bed is worn out. It looks like yours did. How has this stuff held up after this video?
Can you give a long term review of this plz
Great video, I’m sanding mine now, almost down to bare metal in some spots but 🤷🏽♂️ who needs paint back there anyways
Looks good man thanks for the tips, gonna do this to my '79 Elky for when we put parts in the bed.
Good work man! Which sand grit did you use ?
Looks great. Great Job. Thank you for sharing.
Did you just clean the bed with soap/water? Just got a 2nd gen ram and doing this but wasnt sure the best way to clean the bed out
You need to use some rubbing alcohol
Couldn’t you use a freacking tray ?!?
You spelled "freaking" wrong dummy!
Well done good job!
Hi there. How long it take to dry for the second hand.
I used a wire brush on my drill to scuff it. A lot easier on my back and quicker.
Maybe you have already answered this but I couldn’t find it in the comments. How did it hold up? Is it a good product?
Hell yeah!!! I'm going to do the inside of my jeep... why not.
MrSlickmonster6973 the reason I'm here. Have u done it yet? What paint did you, use and did it work?
@@raymondlamas8493 yes . I used the herculiner. It probably took longer to remove everything from the inside than it did to apply the herculiner.
MrSlickmonster6973 nixe! How was the texture "sand paper" like? Has it held on Good?
So far yes. I don't need a carpet no more.
Pretty sure this one turned out looking fine because he did it on top of the old liner. It will Probably peel though when the old liner starts peeling. I always heard you have to peel the old liner to apply another one.
you should have tried bullyliner
Man looks good
Should I remove the plastic of the bed and apply directly on the metal?
Looks great! Thanks man. Going to save the money and use this! Project time lol
Did you put primer on any of the spots that was metal or rusted, or you o ly scuffed it?
Dude ! Good Job. But,,, Do the corners with the brush ‘FIRST’ !
Great video good job.
Great video, thanks!
Great video - inspires confidence for others!
Great video, really answered all my questions... looks great too,
Awesome job!
very well spoken sir, and informative. 07 Titan

How long will it take for the second coat. In the same day?
When you let it dry and get ready to put on the 2nd coat do you get on the bed aNd step on it.
Yes. Make sure its dry
i hav the hurkuliner i got it today definetly waching
So you just used this out of the can? No primer first?

Thanks for the video!
Just got mine from amazon 🤟 slapping that shit on tomorrow. How long should I wait to put my folding cover back on the bed?
I don't recall if they state 24hrs handling time but I would think 2-3 days to get full cure on the liner. Just my opinion

Yeap good looking out bro
Still watching why does it look clumpy? When layering it on little bumps
Not bad at all brother
How is it holding up?
Looks mint
Is your truck bed aluminum ?
Awesome for under 100 bucks. They are charging 500 bucks in florida for this
how long did it take you to complete?
Does this stuff dry hard or rubbery and able to peel off easy?
