When we scan the barcode into Google sheets, the spreadsheet goes to the next row in the same column. How do we get it to go to the next column in the same row?
HI Berry. Question: I noticed in the video by scanning the only thing that goes into the google sheets is the barcode number. Is there a way to have the barcode number, and then in the next column the name of the product that got scanned in? But also, when we load the truck we'd like to scan the QR Code on the box and have it take it OUT of our inventory. Is there an easy way to both the input and also the output? Thank you, Rick

Great questions! They fit your user name "Ron_the_Skeptic". Yes, scan to text boxes on a web page. You can scan to specific ones, or use a feature "Tab to Next Field" which will advance the barcode scanner automatically to the next available field. The date and time stamps are a feature of Google Sheets and the Google Form. Unfortunately no, the app cannot get the device phone number. You'd need to add a "name" field to the Google Form to record who did the scanning. These are limitations of using a Google Form. Having a dedicated website with a login and then a web page to scan barcodes into will solve your requests.
@@themobilesalesengineer5688, thank you for your reply. @@Ron_the_Skeptic Yes it is best to check in the app so you see the correct regional pricing. The app is free to trial so you can confirm it will work for you before needing to make a purchase. These changes are preventing Scan to Web from working properly. We expect to have an update for both Android and iOS ready early next week that corrects the problem. Sorry you are experiencing this. It was a surprise for us as well. (replied July 2, 2020)

Yep, in the app there is a setting called "After barcode scan". The default is to do nothing so you'd have to manually submit. Change that to Attempt form submit. Or if you have multiple fields, use Tab to next field and submit after last.

These are limitations of using a Google Form. Having a dedicated website with a login and then a web page to scan barcodes into will solve your requests.
@@themobilesalesengineer5688, thank you for your reply. I see you did not answer the question of price; I assume that will become clear if I install the app. I have one more question: Is the Internet required or will it work with the phone's data turned off and Wi-Fi connected to the subnet provided by the router if the server and browsers are all on that same subnet?
@@Ron_the_Skeptic Yes it is best to check in the app so you see the correct regional pricing. The app is free to trial so you can confirm it will work for you before needing to make a purchase.
Yes the app will open web pages served on a local intranet, even protected behind a firewall. This is a common use of Scan to Web by businesses & non-profits of all sizes.
@@themobilesalesengineer5688, thank you, again, for your reply. The application I'm writing will eventually be connected to the Internet, but for the moment, it is isolated in my lab. I spent some time this afternoon writing a web page and cgi program to write a scan to a database table. Tomorrow I will make a slight change to a router and see if I can get it all to work. Then I will know if I really understand.
big help! thanks,, one thing,, can the app be automatically set home after submitting the g.form? so that there's no need to press the Home button..
Hi! We have a custom JavaScript after scan that will do this for you. Just use the Scan to Configure barcode here. scantoweb.net/google-forms-and-continuous-scanning/
This has helped me somewhat, but I have QR codes from a sight that my students use. I wanted to see if there is a way to use those barcodes for them to sign into school with, i don't want to create 400 individual QR codes... any suggestions?
Sorry it took a while to reply. What are the contents of the QR Codes? If it is just an ID #, you'll need to cross reference with a VLOOKUP in Google Sheets.
th-cam.com/video/n01PvnFniX8/w-d-xo.html
Is there a way to have the app jump straight into the scanner after clicking "submit another response"?
Yes, there is a configuration for the app that will do this. The home page needs to be the Google Form. Instructions here "Google Forms and Continuous Scanning" scantoweb.net/google-forms-and-continuous-scanning/
can i make a full google form with par code on it
Hello is there a way to prevent duplicate barcodes to be scanned?
How can you make is so you would enter the quantity of the barcode? Like scan then type 20 for the number of items as an example. This would be useful for inventory counting year end.
Hello Justin. Not that I know of in Google Forms. They are pretty basic. Scan to Web works with all websites. A custom website could be made that does the total. Otherwise you'll have to group and sum in Google Sheets after scanning.
webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/25798/sum-values-with-same-name
@@themobilesalesengineer5688 couldn't he make another page that totals the scans by using a formula?
An excellent presentation Sir. Wish you good luck Sir.
HI, WHAT A BRIILIANT WAY.. I ALSO DOING THE SAME PROJECT.. BUT MY EXPECTATION IS THE GOOGLE FORM WILL BE AUTO SUBMIT AND RECORD AUTO INTO THE SPREADSHEET.. ONLY BUTTON " SUBMIT ANOTHER RESPOSE" NEED TO PRESS. ANY IDEAS?
Did you find out how to do it?
At the 2:26 time mark .... you lost me. Up till that point fine. I do not understand "scan to Web"
Is there a way to " attempt a form submit" and then "append a url"?.
Thanks.
Yes, the app has that feature among others in After scan. Such as submit, append the URL, or run Javascript. scantoweb.net/after-barcode-scan/
@@themobilesalesengineer5688 Thanks for your reply, but what I ment is if there was a way to use the options at the same time?, that de app would submit the answer and then automatically append a URL.
amazing, nice tutorial
Thank you!
Hello. I want to do this for an event whereby when I check people in - their name and credentials appear on the spreadsheet instead of a random number. Can I do that? If so can you help me?
Sure, first Try the Check in / Check out video to see if that will help.
th-cam.com/video/0PtnVvrVTCY/w-d-xo.html
Otherwise, you'll need to use a VLOOKUP formula to fill in the name columns.
Lastly, could you just add the name into the barcode? You can create QR Codes here berrywing.com/barcode.
You skipped an entire step? What app are you using to connect the form and HOW DO YOU set that up and use it? I have an apple and its giving me a Java script error?
Hello Erin, the scanning app is Scan to Web. scantoweb.net
What Java script error?
Thanks for the video, but the responses are not being captured in google from even after scanning the qr code.
Hello Talib, Google Forms always show a Thank you or Your Response has been submitted page. This page has no text fields so there is no where for the barcode scan to go. You need to tap the Submit another response link on the page to go back and enter your form again. For more information, see this article. scantoweb.net/google-forms-and-continuous-scanning/
Is there a possible way to bring up product into not just the barcode number,,, for example if i scan a book into excel, how can i get it to bring up the book name and info and not just the ISBN numbers,,,,
Google Forms are one way only (at the moment). So you can only record the barcode number. It is possible using VLOOKUP to compare the barcode scanned spreadsheet against a master list to get the book name. Skip ahead to the second part of this video to see how VLOOKUP works. th-cam.com/video/OtfejiRS690/w-d-xo.html
If one person got two phone and he or she changes the email to his colleague, then it can be manipulated or cheated unless there is IP address is also recorded for each of attendee. For one person, here will two rows, in and out, what about to get all info for both time-in and out in a single row? Could you explain these technical issues, data security security and manipulation options. Thank you
If you need something that secure, I would not recommend using Google Forms and Google Sheets. You'd be better served with a warehouse management software with dedicated login and accounts.
I have been using their Barcode to Sheets app. Their Scan to Sheets app is a really poor substitute for the Barcode to Sheets. I tried it to put on another device to allow the clients to scan in without me having to chase them around. I have had error upon error upon error. Oh well onto something else.
Hi! Email, us when you get a chance. I think you are describing a different company's app. Our apps are called "Scan to Web" and "Scan to Spreadsheet". We are aware of "Barcode to Sheet", that is not ours. softwaresupport@berrywing.com
You really save me! Thank you
Fantastic! Glad we could help you.
Good Evening... May I ask, if i have 300 items does it mean i have to create 300 google forms?
No you shouldn't have to. A Google Form is a way of creating new rows in a spreadsheet. So 1 form to 1 spreadsheet is the best way to think of it. For the 300 items would you need 300 spreadsheets for any reason? Just wanted to make sure I was not missing something.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I want to use this to pass the attendance in my school where we don't have many resources but we do have Internet. I would have to create 40 forms with their respective QR to have the information of each student, is that possible? thanks for your help and greetings from Chile.

This is good i tryed it thats work for me and i need to 1 help i need to auto enter barcode number with item model how can i fix it
Google Forms are good for 1 way collecting barcode scans. It will not return any lookup result after scanning a barcode.
Email us, there are other options if I understood your question correctly. softwaresupport@berrywing.com
Wonderful app! Q. So instead of setting the "home page" to one particular form, is there a way to allow the user to select from multiple forms? For example, the user can choose the 'barcode reader' form now, but later they want to use the app to scan into a totally different form. Thx!
Yep, create a Google Site. This will serve as the app home page. You can then put links on the Google Site to your different forms and other pages if you'd like.
@@themobilesalesengineer5688 Thank you! Is this app also compatible with Microsoft Forms?
Subbed! Keep up the awesome content!
Thank you!
Great video !!! Thanks so much it really helps.
Glad to hear it!
it is free version or has limited scan or limited time for free user?
Yes the app is free to test with 50 barcode scans. You can then purchase in Google Play or the Apple app store. We also offer Enterprise and Non-Profit pricing. Contact our sales team for more information. Are you a web developer? We can also offer assistance during your design process.

How can I use this to track inventory that is checked in and out
That is a popular request. We'll make a video blog about how to do so. Email me and I will send you the procedure so you can test it for us. softwaresupport@berrywing.com
Hi, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, the responses don’t seem to pick up my text. I get a time stamp but no text.
Short answer and text are selected on the Google form.
Any help will be much appreciated.
We are sorry to report there is an issue right now with how Scan to Web integrates with Google Forms.
We are working on the issue.
Google Drive has made several updates and changes to Google Forms. These changes are preventing Scan to Web from working properly.
We expect to have an update for both Android and iOS ready early next week that corrects the problem.
Sorry you are experiencing this. It was a surprise for us as well. (replied July 2, 2020)
Can you track inventory and the quantity?
wondering the same
Great video thanks so much it really helps. How do I print out a barcode that I scanned to the sheet?
Sure thing. You can create them one at a time with our site. Or follow the instructions further down the page to create them in Google Sheets.

i hace a quetion. When i scan de barcode doesnt appear the info about de QR (name of the barcode) in teh sheet
The app only returns the content of the QR Code. What other information are you expecting? Please email us at softwaresupport@berrywing.com We'll do our best to help.
Nice.. really basic. Thank you
Please help. Whenever I scan another barcode, it keeps saying "It looks like there's a more recent draft of your response. Update to your latest draft to pick up where you left off."
Hello, not sure about that one. Are you using the Live View of your Google Form? Email us for support; softwaresupport@berrywing.com
wait...I think I'm missing something here. How did the responses are submitted? you don't even have to hit that "submit" button on the form😳
Yep, in the app there is a setting called "After barcode scan". The default is to do nothing so you'd have to manually submit. Change that to Attempt form submit. Or if you have multiple fields, use Tab to next field and submit after last.
This is awesome! I need help, is there a way to create a form for each person scanning, and a break per order? I need 30 people to scan 50 orders each to make sure all items (barcodes) are accounted for.
With Google Forms you are limited. Could you add a dropdown list with the people's name. Or provide them a barcode; so you scan the order # and then the person?
