Sam, you're excused for rambling on, I like you absolutely love the outback, it is so surreal, you feel so remote yet it's full of surprises, there's life all around you, wake in the morning and study the sands around camp, so many prints, tracks in the sand that lead to tiny burrows, it an amazing place, look who's rambling on now, haha.
You'll even discover sometimes a dingo has warmed himself by your fire while you slept, foot prints, the outline of his haunches and tail as he sat, magic magic place.
We just love sand travels, Googs track, K'gari just can't get enough of it.
First took our kids out there in 1999, then 2002, 2015. Now to follow up, our kids & grandkids have a planned trip in 2023 so please disclose the 8 magic weeks the Farina Bakery operates, many thanks.

Here's a tip - leave your tree trunk protector at home :) There are no trees to winch from in the Simpson.

My GU Patrol 3.0 CRD auto wagon on 33" tyres used 21.85L/100 from Mt Dare to Birdsville, 11th to 15th Sept 2022. Lots of mud, slush, but firm sand from the recent rain. Took 117 litres at Birdsville. I have a long range main tank so there was zero fuel anxiety, but if relying on the standard 90L + 32L there would have been significant "will it make it" so a Jerry or two would be needed. Hopefully my figures will help if you're planning a Simpson crossing.

No surprises the LC300 can easily do it. If your management lets you loose again, how about a repeat in the new Ford Everest? Excellent video, thanks.
