Tom Saad rope wrench sure isn’t this compact lol. Got my leaning way back on a spar when used as double tie in lol

great vid-your a big guy(I'm 130kgs and mostly fat)and you made it look easy.
I never trust those skinny looking guys running up the ropes.
I was looking at the uniscender but I think your video changed my mind.

I just got this today. Just realized I was using it facing the wrong direction because half the pictures of this thing online have the carabiner on the wrong side of the climbing line. On top of that the instructions that came with it are not the greatest. Also! How come this device isn't in the wesspur catalog? Do you guys not trust it or something? Fortunately I'm too fat to go high enough to hurt myself.

Hey, thanks for the comments. We were unable to get the Hitchhiker 2 for an extended time, which is why it wasn't it in the catalog for a period. The HH2 is a great device! We hope this video helped fill the holes in the instructions.

this device is much smaller than a rope wrench (and tether )and I dont get why it isnt the 'big dog' device to use for tree climbers. It looks like it has the same or similar 2 extra friction points as the wrench but in a far smaller package overall. it is a touch of engineering genius at its simplest if you ask me.
most climbers still climbing on friction cord are using a tether (or many fanciful versions of it) and rope wrench which is physically longer and one of the 'cons' ive read from these pro's about using mechanical devices is maybe the bending when you reach a branch the rope is over but at least this thing is so compact that would be even less than any other device I've seen.has anyone done a side by side comparison in use test?

What's the tether do for the system?

For this system, it keeps the Hitch Hiker at the chest when ascending with the hands/feet. Essentially, enabling ascent without having to manually tend the HH2
