- Hi, all!
In this video, I continue demonstrating how to use the texture paste in my mixed media work. I do a little bit of printing, but in a different way than I’ve done before.
This was a piece that’s been living in my head for a little while, and I don’t typically work that way, and prefer a much more intuitive approach to Art, I am very pleased with the outcome of this one!
Join me in this tutorial, and I hope you enjoy the process as much as I did! ☺️☺️☺️
Below is a link to the Facebook page of the Westmoreland Art nationals, a competition in which I am currently competing!
Please feel free to check out all of the beautiful artwork, and you can vote for your favorite by clicking the “Like” button underneath the image of the piece!
(ETA: I had mentioned in the video that my image was displayed sideways, but that was fixed today! 😃)

Love the end piece! That color does do what you want it to do. Very clever! ❤
I got a Snow White feel from your piece as well. I love the eerie feel of this piece.❤️
Thank you!!
Very nice! got a real Edgar Allen Poe vibe from that piece👌
Thank you! What an awesome compliment!☺️
I do really like it a lot
Thank you so much!
I immediately thought of Snow White when I saw the black apple. I really like this piece a lot, Melissa. You answered my question about reusing the artificial flowers. P.S. I’m guessing a banana wouldn’t work too well?????😁😁😁😁
@Lainers2000. 🤣🤣🤣 not going to lie, I totally thought of that. Sometimes I just wander through my house thinking: I wonder if I could print that?!
@@ArtworkByMelissaReed You got me thinking about printing stuff now. I had a bag of potpourri with a dried orange slice in it but I threw it out. Dang!
My aunt told me to enter that at the art museum in Greensburg. We had to move and I could not focus and I missed it.
Don’t let that discourage you! There is always next year. They are actually already accepting next year‘s entries. I typically don’t even think about entering until right before the deadline, though, because I usually want to put in my most recent work! I hope to see you there next year!
@ArtworkByMelissaReed It is a goal now. And I guess people have things sitting around that they might enter now. But this far ahead, we could make something really amazing and regret entering something early. So when I moved, I had to pick my most favorite media's to take with me because I am a mixed media artist to the core, and I had so many art supplies. I am going through my stuff again to reorganize, and I find things coming together even better with every idea. Finding your channel was very inspiring. At the moment, I am working on sunflowers for a friend that wants me to decorate her new home.
