@@glenemma1Thanks. I forgot to mention in the video I walked into Brashs a few times. It used to have so much stock. Tonnes of pianos and keyboards is my main memory. The store was also dimly lit which highlighted the white keys of the pianos. That was my recollection anyway.

Hi HW. The old building near Dymocks was Batemans Crystal Hotel after 1917 (and probably that before then). The old Darrell Lea shop was Belfields Hotel. It also has "(Royal Exchange)" on the map. Maybe a former name?
I found an old photo showing part of the Crystal Hotel from 1901, and it's an old sandstone building. So 1902 would be about right for it's rebuild. It's also been known as The Manchester Arms and the Tatler.

Great vid ..Our city in Canada 🇨🇦 has a lot of historical buildings as well ..we were the gateway to the West back in 1800s to mid 1900s ..our weather is quite warm still ..supposed to be 22c on Sunday ,Monday but sharp drop Tuesday 8c ..i see the people crossing the light rail tracks ..you gotta be definitely watching where your going because those trains seem to move quite fast 😮

TH-cam really are full of contradictions...you spend minutes typing a long detailed comment with no bad words or references, and it gets taken down, yet someone can do a liveshow, and swear & say anything they want, on it. And, have you noticed the amount of soft porn lately on YT ? Young girls doing cleaning naked in bodypaint, or getting their boobs out to demonstrate how to breastfeed with a doll, or trying on transparent wet clothes, and this is all allowed because they insert a disclaimer at the start, saying it's educational or not for sexual gratification. Give me a break ! These get 100k - 1 mill views, for a 2 minute video ! Not that I watch a lot of these... Anyway, YT will probably delete this too !

@@HazelKitching Not much. I dropped into the dentist this arvo to get more painkillers. I was horrified when the dentist put me in the chair and tortured me some more. Think I’ll have some soup when I get out of bed.
Hi HW, Are you feeling better after the tooth extraction? They do say that a salt water rinse in the mouth is a great healer. It is mild here in Yorkshire, with showers. as usual. Christmas is in the shops and on the Internet. Are there many homeless people in Sydney? When I walk around our town centre, there are quite a few of the homeless people sat outside the shops asking if you have any change for them. I decided to watch this video on Saturday morning, as I would have been rushing off to work after viewing the video. Best choice I made. Have a good weekend and get well soon. 🙏

@@hwtours Yes, same here in the UK. Diesel used to be cheaper than petrol until the government of the day decided that diesels were better for the environment and so pushed them on us. What happened? The sale of diesels went up dramatically and, surprise surprise, so did the price of diesel. Move on to the coof and the price of both diesel and petrol went down a lot due to everyone being under house arrest. Then we had the tiff between Russia and Ukraine so up it all went again. As did everything else with the blame being put on dear old Vlad. However, in recent weeks we've seen quite a drop in fuel prices but no corresponding drop in other things (mainly food) which, the supermarkets told us everything had to go up due to transportation costs and so you'd expect substantial reductions in grocery shopping. Nope, their still high - but why? Anyway, rant over and onto the Crows Nest video.
