What I like about these tutorials is that even though I can’t replicate your level of skill, I still pick up a lot of techniques and tricks that are very useful in painting other stuff.
Excellent, Ok maybe mine look a little more like blisters, but for the 3o mins I spent on it, I am very impressed. Excellent clear explanation and examples. Very impressed.
I remember, it took me months to find out how to do transparency of water in a painting. This is simply one of the best I have seen from your videos James. Thanks for sharing.
I just became a patron just because I love your tutorials and am learning so much from watching your videos. I am totally new to procreate and your step by step video truly helps. Amongst all the videos I have watched your videos and lessons are the best!
I have had Procreate for like a year now and I didn't know you could double tap for pure white/black/any given color. I was today years old *cries in the corner*. Seriously though, I'm enjoying your tutorials a lot!!
Loving all your tutorials every video is giving me more confidence! have you thought about doing studio ghibli background tutorials? there seems to be hunger for it yet no actual tutorials in your style what makes it easy to follow along
Loving the “elements” theme lately. Water, such a difficult subject to render. Great info. I’ve seen your “fire” stuff and it’s brilliant, hope to see more of that as well. Metal would be a really cool subject. Rusty, riveted, banded, etc..... Glad i revisited your channel as I have been spending more time lately with traditional methods trying to rejuvenate my long lost passion for pencil and paper, pen and ink etc. Time to take a break and get some digital drawing in. Thanks for doing what you do James.
Ah thank you, I really love elemental stuff and nature generally. I like rust, but usually when it’s gone so far that you can’t recognise the original surface lol
Thank you for the tutorial. It is very informative and helpful. I’m trying to draw a glass balcony lately, but stuck. Can you help me crating a video about how to draw the transparent glass effect.
Amazing video as always!! Also, I had a quick question, how do you like to film your iPad? Do you have it tilted sitting at an angle or is it flat on the desk with the camera overhead?
James Julier Art Tutorials oh wow! Nice! It may not be high tech but it gets the job done and looks great!! PS thanks for sharing your art with us. Your videos always brighten my day
Thank you for this tutorial , your directions are so clear and precise, I have learnt so much and looking forward to learning more . Keep up the great work !

Amazing video as always!! Also, I had a quick question, how do you like to film your iPad? Do you have it tilted sitting at an angle or is it flat on the desk with the camera overhead?
The iPad is flat and I’m using my iPhone resting on a satnav holder pointed down. Not very high tech lol
