Goodbye R8. After a run of 15 years, the car is embarking on its farewell tour. The car that has been everywhere, from being Robert Downey Jr's icon to being a track weapon to arguably being the best daily supercar. It stood alongside the Lamborghini Gallardo at first and eventually took that iconic V10 engine for itself. Then, Gen 2 stood beside the Huracán. Some V10 cars sounded better. Some had more power. But this one just hits home. The car's life began when I was in 1st grade, going into 2nd. Now, as a senior in college, its tour is ending. Thank you for everything you did for us R8. Your electric successor will be a hell of a performer, but nothing can match the sound of that V10.

a beast? Just have a different bodykit than normal r8, it's the same! More power would've been better! I love Audi but all cars are slower than the Merc & Bmw!

This isn’t just a new bodykit. it is lighter, no 4WD system for starters, new lighter wheels. The car is RWD as well.No BMW is as fast either,it’s as fast as a Huracan.

Own a V10 Manual which I love dearly but would love to have this also after driving a Gen 2 with DSG.. R8 had an amazing life and will surely go down as one of the most iconic cars
They should have gone wild with the last one ,should have been Twin Turboed from the factory with over 1000hp stock to make it the most unique one ever !
They will take 2-5 years off for sure while they work on the electric version. Possibly hybrid but doubtful. They may change the name it hasn’t been decided.
Damn I died a little on the inside when you said you could launch or rev that bad girl, it would have taken all the discipline in the world for me not to do so..I would have wanted to launch it so badly. Amazing car, shame this is the end of it but a special edition limited to 333 cars looks to be a nice send off for it, im sure there will be a few extra special editions out of the 333 as well. Already know a couple of those 333 are going to end up as 2000HP track monsters slaying anything in their path. The spec on that one is incredibly nice, especially love the lighter Nardo Grey type color with all the exposed carbon fiber on the car, and god damn does it look nice from the rear...super wide and even stock it just looks so damn good and aggressive. With Audi transitioning to electric and this being the last run of R8s limited to 333 cars, you can bet these cars are going to be a collectors item and be worth quite a lot 10, 15+ years in the future(especially as more and more companies like Audi, Mercedes, BMW etc go electric and stop producing their performance model combustion engine cars...unfortunately), would not be surprised to see these damn near 1 million dollars in 10-15 years.
Need to hear the exhaust revved! Disappointed they weren't able to reduce more weight on this like they did with the first R8 GT. Plus no extra power, they added 10HP to the first R8 GT at least.
Gahhhhh, a day after I get my allocation on my 23' and put the order through LOL! Wonder how available these will be for purchase though. Anywho, cannot wait to hear the details!

@@underviv64 RS3 with a proper exhaust will sound just like this, maybe even better. I've had my RS3 for a couple of years now (2019 model) very heavily tuned tho which wouldn't make it a fair race against the R8 but nothing beats that N/A noise regardless. Even with my RS3, I'll always give my props and respect to the R8 any day of the week
Called my Audi dealer today. They have no word! If it is truly more than paint, stickers and name, and is more power and less weight, 8 will be tempted. Then ass7ming is limited edition and my serial purchase of new Audis qualifies me as a good customer, I would place a deposit. Fingers crossed in all cases! Then the big question is do I keep the LMX as well!

Several yrs of the v10 but it can't make more than 620hp. But the c8 with a v8 makes 670. Thats a pretty big difference. Maybe audi didn't want improve on it too much. Its been 600hp for a while now. U would think go all out and try to make close to 700
I really love audi, but this kinda sucks. Optic wise no difference to normal R8 with aero parts. The old one even had other rear lights, why didn't they do them in Oled technic like bmw did for the m4csl ?!
Wish they had given it the "Performante" treatment, more power, plus the looks and added performance parts etc. Still a legendary car nonetheless and always will be. I'll never forget when the 1st gen R8 came out and so many people were talking about it, good times 🥲

BMW quit the V12 760i, etc. Lamborghini is only making very few of the new Countach's and were sold out before production even began, with no more to come. What next? Some Chinese company just bought Aston Martin, so I'm sure it'll go down the toilet next. I don't mean to be such a dick. It just makes me sad, and then that makes me annoyed as F.

Old R8 with 600hp did 2.8s 0-100 and tops 332km/h and this with 620hp does 3.4s and 320km/h?
