    Nice video explanation... thanks. Got one of these annex kits arriving soon. Just hoping it comes with anti-flap kit like with yours. My Thule 5200 roll out awning has none.

      Thanks Mikey... If it is a locally made kit... then good chance its a yes. If it is the European imported, then it could be a slightly lighter solution. Can have their issues with the harsher Australian conditions. Happy to chat more when it arrives at yours if you're not quite sure the setup... no fee of course. HIt me up on here if you need a hand ;)

      @@GreatAnnexeCoTV Just arrived ... no end supports at all. The front wall can slide into the C channel on the awning, but no idea how to hang the end walls without supports. Looks like another $270 for the end kit. Should be a law against this. Grrrrrrr. Or maybe I can make something up myself.

      Oh no... seems odd. What attachment components are sewn to the top of the end walls? Sometimes is a rope spline or a pocket sewn in? Knowing this will ensure you get the right end bars to suit

      @@GreatAnnexeCoTV Turns out I was hood winked into buying a basic kit without the correct attachments. Their story is that it will hook up to the awning as I mentioned, but the ends just hang loose, and if you are not happy, which nobody in their right mind will be, then you BUY the extra attachments. That is a con for sure. Thule are very smart to add up the price with extras. Suck you in with the cheap basic price, and then hit you with a huge extras bill as follows.
      Anti flap kit that will secure the annex better (probably like yours) $270
      Center support rafter including brackets $95
      C-Track channel because Thule not include on awning housing $40
      3 x support legs because mine secure to van instead of ground $280
      3 tie down straps... not sure of price.... maybe total around $60
      Seriously, I am pissed at Thule and the guy who sold me this on ebay. Their argument is that this Annex can be erected as is... but honestly, "as is" will collapse under any serious strain. I will never buy a Thule item again. On the positive side, support was good although they told me what I did not want to hear.

      @@strikemaster1 Ahh.... Ebay can be a little bit of a mine field at times. At least you know what your options are moving forward...

    Thanks mate great demo just put our annex on watching your video now what are the 3 extra holes on roll arm for ?? Would they be for extra support poles ?

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If they are in the roller assembly, then yes.. holes generally indicate a pole location point. Send a pic through if you need to clarify ;)

    Nice demo. So after locking awning into position, your leaving it in the closing position? So the barrel wants to close back into the van? Cheers

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes.. that’s correct. This ensures that if a large gust of wind or large dump of rain that hits the awning will not allow it to continue to roll out and therefore encourage pooling or flapping. The locking of the awning support arm and the rafters are the security that it will not roll itself back in again.

      Alot of confusion around this on forums. Cheers

      @@palindromeAU Ahh... forums can be a confusing place with various examples of situations that can be all affected by the unique circumstances surrounding each. That is why I believe talking to experts in the industry would generally provide more accurate information... particular where unique circumstances apply. Thanks for reaching out to us :)

    Hi, the complete kit shown in this demonstration, how much roughly? We have a 2019 majestic knight SLX with a 16’ awning the same as the van you have in this demo. Cheers

      Hi Riles... complete kits range between $2490 and $2990. All Australian made of course 😉👌🇦🇺

    Do we leave the awning arms attached to the van and have two separate corner poles for the annex.

    • @GreatAnnexeCoTV
      @GreatAnnexeCoTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct… though you can stand the awning arm off if you require the access. Just ensure you anchor them well.
