The RS-S is a great bike and I have far too much respect for my 2012 SM-5 to subject it to such punishment. It's now 10 years old and still going strong. Change the oil regularly, fit a better sway bar, handle bar risers and improve the air flow to keep it running cool and you have got yourself a faithful companion for years to come. They are such a unique bike and after all this time I still enjoy riding it. Take care.
To each their own. But to me, some are trying to make a sport bike out of something that wasn't designed to be that. I think they're at their best when in the touring mode. Just my humble opinion. Have 2015 spyder RT-S. Have never had a issue with it......ever.
It has the Rotax V-twin engine, same as on the Aprilia RSV Mille, but detuned with less bhp. Doesn't anybody know that? And doing burnouts while hitting the rev limiter constantly like that will kill that engine. Just ride it, floor it, but don't redline it that often because one day, this will kill it. Actually, this kills any engine at one point.
You didn't go from one brand of bike to another, you went to a different TYPE of bike, so there can be no comparison when you say one is better than the other because you are just giving your opinion on which TYPE of bike works best for you.

I have the same one, love it. Plus I put a Voo Doo muffler on it. Louder than than a Harley. Hahahahaha
I’ve had the Spyder RS 08 model for 10 years (first model made) and i can confirm they are insanely fun to drive/ride.
Just bought same..black/silver '08/rs with 9000 miles..added risers and a bigger brake pedal.... and tunes. Luv it!!!

Top speed on my 2012 manual was 131 on a long highway. They are geared very low and have great acceleration but slowdown greatly after 115.

They don't 'slowdown' after 115. They just quit accelerating as ferociously. Still accelerating, therefor not slowing down.

I bought a brand new one RSS in 2015 , had it for a month and I traded it in for Hayabusa 2013 Special Edition...best choice I have made

I would like to see an 'all wheel drive', on/off road, lighter, and with higher ground clearance: a cross between a spyder and side by side utv.
They do other models that cater for that, it would not be commercially viable to modify the Spyder like that. Just get one of their four wheelers
