    I tried this today sparring against one of my partners who has quick hands and fast feet. Great tip, thanks for the videos.

      Unless you are sparring with Muay Thai guys you should be ok ha ha. If you spar with anyone who can attack the leg, watch out, they will be gunning for your lead for sure ;-)

      Hard to stop lead leg kicks because the range is farther than a boxers reach. Even if the boxer does a bounce step back.

    Just want to say thanks. I've had a lot of trouble with aggressive boxers coming in. Usually I try to step off on an angle and counter, but I find the timing hard. I tried this tonight while sparring against a much bigger guy. Stepped to the right and swept his front foot with my front foot, while he was coming forward. I didn't expect him to fall so hard! I will definitely be adding this to the toolkit.

    Awesome as usual. Your channel offers high quality content, thank you. Also, my muay thai coach says that when against a boxer we don't need to get fancy and kick high, just 2-3 times hard low kicks and they are done. They don't know how to check kicks and they don't expect them.

    This was the Cowboy strategy to stop Nate Diaz and worked very well but in the end he couldn't stop that wave of precise punches. Anyway it's a very good counter movement. Thanks for the tutorial!!!

    Love this long range defense against punchers! Another alternative I like to do is to step in/step out/angle etc, parry/trap the hands and attack with elbows, set up clinch, knee, trips, takedown etc. My coaches always told me when your getting beat up by a good puncher...elbow!

    Needed this. I get walked down by boxers in sparring all the time and needed some kind of response. Great tips and videos in general, very helpful.

    • @jhk3172
      @jhk3172 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Work on your boxing defense and you can counter with kicks. You can parry then low kick, parry then switch too the liver and the you can use kick faints and then come up top with the hands, once he starts to react to kicks then it’s easier to box with him. Theirs a lot you can do but many kick boxers aren’t use too a pressure boxer. Just drill counters

    You know how you Just swiped the front foot away, What If they do that to you How do you prevent that from happening?

    • @warriorcollective
      @warriorcollective  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +DAire Purnell Good question, if you can foot sweep them, they can foot sweep you. There is nothing to stop this other than you being aware of the risk of it and seeing how likely your opponent is to utilise it within his attack. You tend to find this happens more if you are committing to coming forward so it essentially boils down to the way you fight I guess. That and experience should minimise it happening but like anything nothing is certain or fool proof in the fighting arena. If you lunge with the jab and move forward a lot, you are at risk, if you stay on the back foot and edge forward/backward more tentatively then you should find you don't get this kind of sweep occurring to you that much. Hope this helps, apologies for rambling ha ha
