    Hantavirus is nothing to ignore but you are doing the right steps. As for blocking holes from rodents, spray foam won’t really work well. The rodents will chew through it. However, they HATE steel wool. Pack the holes with four ought steel wool. When they bite on it it is a similar sensation to when you get aluminum foil in your mouth while eating a wrapped sandwich. I can personally vouch that this trick works. Once you pack the hole, then put spay foam as glue on the inside. I kept mice from invading a rubble stone foundation by packing the holes with steel wool. It took a lot of the stuff, but I stopped the buggers.

      The normal family can't afford those generators but all those utubers get them for free. You would be surprised if you knew how much money they make and these companies send it to them for free advertisement.

    Nearly 30 years ago in Arizona which is known to have Hantivirus I helped my friends clean up a 20' camper that was covered with mouse poop. We wore N95 masks while using a broom, dust pan and a shop vacuum to clean it. Well... here I am all that time later and I never got sick from it.

I have seen what you all can do with your new home place and I know that you could build yourselves a cute little cabin on this “creek” place. Maybe you should think about letting letting the bus go. • @DanB-ei8br
    @DanB-ei8br ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Like everyone is saying it's called Hantavirus. Yes, it can be deadly but so can many things in this world when they aren't given the respect they deserve. The virus affects the respiratory system and can be fatal. For some reason, it is more common west of the Mississippi. I'm from the northeast and though rare here there was an outbreak of sorts in NYC, but according to the CDC site, only 6 deaths have resulted from it since 1993. I've done these kinds of cleanups professionally. Although I would have gone into a bus in this condition with Tyvek and a full-face respirator what's done is done and you are still breathing so that's a good sign. The steps you have taken at this point will reduce the chances of infection but bear in mind you have only cleaned what you can access easily. The reason I would have used Tyveks isn't just to protect myself but more so to avoid the risk of carrying anything home with me. The same is true when dealing with mold. The hidden areas that you can't clean would be more of a concern to me than anything. Like others have said protect yourselves as much as possible and when you get everything cleaned close the windows and doors to seal it up and then nuke the bejeebers (that's a professional term by the way) out of it with a professionally sized commercial ozone generator for twenty-four hours. Not a big ozone machine from home... a professional one...the one I had when I was in the business put out over 6000 milligrams of ozone an hour and because it is a gas it reaches into the areas that even the mice can't get into.

    My best friend was cleaning out a storage container and inhaled the dust. She got pneumonia from it and then got cancer on her esophagus that was rapid growing and she died in less than a year. The doctor linked the pneumonia to the rat dust which caused the cancer. When I sold my property in Naples I didn't take any chances and didn't go into any sheds.
    Stay safe.
