hi guys I am a bit confused, I havce a 2008 taurus x, I watched other videos and the pump looks different. this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=2z?YlW7axIDU&ab_channel=briansmobile1 lthe pump looks differnet and the jobs seeems more complex. what year is this taurus?

I did this a little while ago but I believe this is a 2011 Taurus. Very similar repair on most, but there are some differences as some Taurus's had the PS Pump right at the top of the engine, a bit easier.
      Hope this helps.

You have to watch Napa. They have been sneaking Dorman products into the inventory. I needed a spring shackle for my pickup. Went to the Napa website. They had two price points. If it wasn't for the photo showing the part with the Dorman logo on it, I would have missed it. There was no mention in the worded description that the lower priced shackle was Dorman. I did actually use a Dorman. Bought two Dorman shackles for the price of one Dorman from Napa. This truck has 311k miles. Some Dorman stuff is alright. I would avoid any of their electrical or remanufactured items.

Uh oh, I’ll look for that. They are expensive, so if they are just charging more for the same stuff they’ll get outed. ;)

@@JimmyMakingitwork Napa isn't charging more for the Dorman. They still have the Napa "A" line. Dorman appears to be the less expensive "B" line option of parts. Napa doesn't mention in the literature that the "B" line item is Dorman. Napa does however use the Dorman part number. According to South Main Auto, Dorman is going to be the supplier for reman driveshafts. He installed a Napa driveshaft and it failed. Napa no longer uses this particular supplier. The warranty replacement will be a Dorman product.

I stand corrected. If you scroll down further to the specifications, Dorman is listed as the manufacturer. The main header says "Napa OE Solutions".

Where does that black o-ring go @813 ? It was in the bag with the teflon ring.

They give you the seals for both sides of the hose and sometimes they are already on the hose or only one end is disconnected.

I've wondered how does doorman stay in business almost every part they sell is bad when I see a doorman part I tell the boss to be ready to pay extra labor cause I'm not taking it off free I would wait for a napa part before I wasted time on a doorman

Replacing the high pressure line and the line going from the rack to cooler on my 2009 Ford Flex select , and I gotta say this was the worst repair so far … didn’t have a pully puller , so I just disconnected the line from the rack , pulled the belts , disconnected the return .. and of course all those hard to reach mounting brackets .. after taking pulling the bolts on the pump I was able to fish the pump and hose out the bottom of the vehicle just behind the subframe… was definitely a slow go tho .. no parts store has the pump with pully so had to order without.. but went ahead and got the tool .. so hopefully the reinstall goes better … all done with vehicle on ramps .. so it’s doable without pulling the wheel.. at least on the flex but from what I can tell it looks the same…, just wish I would have found this video first cause the pump was still good. But not after I tried an adjustable wrench on the flare nut with the pully still on … lol
    Lesson learned …..
    Thanks for the video

@@JimmyMakingitwork side note , at least on the 2009 flex select 2wd , you can’t put the pump on before the pully … there’s absolutely no room to get the tool in ,, but after hours of trying to fish the line up and around I was finally able to get it bolted on properly .. proper orientation of the high pressure line is key before starting the process cause once you get the pump to the desired location there is no room to spin the line around where you need it .., hard lesson learned .., now to work on the actual problem to day , guess it was the steering shaft seal ? On the rack that failed , or maybe both , idk . But about to go get the rack now . So day four of power steering work , fun fun 🙃

Yeah, the line almost touches the pulley, crazy tight squeeze. :)
