  • Cape Arid was the ideal place to visit over Easter as the Esperance area was booked out way in advance. I headed to Cape Arid a day earlier to ensure I got a spot but shouldn't have worried as most people just find a place along the beach and set up camp for the long weekend.
Unfortunately I couldn't get to Cape Arid itself as it involves a 25km drive along the beach in very soft sand and don't think the van is up to those conditions. Will need a 4WD next time...
I did manage a 14km hike along the Tagon Coastal Trail and even though it was Easter, pretty much had the beaches to myself. Dolphin Cove and Tagon Beach were the highlights as well as stumbling across a group of emus in the dunes with Dad keeping watch over the kids.
I also stayed a few nights in Alexander Bay. A lesser known spot but apparently a favourite for the locals. A stunning piece of coastline between Esperance and Cape Arid.
Once again, I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!
