The Spectacular Duke of Orleans Bay
Duke of Orleans Bay was a complete surprise to me. I think it's at least on par or better than the more famous attractions around Cape Le Grande and Esperance with less people!
The scenery is spectacular with places like Table Island where you can wade across the sand spit and scramble up the granite face to the summit and have 360 degree views of the bay.
The white sandy beaches are breathtaking with Wharton Beach being a popular spot to set up camp for the day and catch some rays and waves.
A walk around the peninsula takes you to beautiful coves and stunning uncrowded beaches. Simply a spectacular part of Western Australia.
Once again, I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Cape Arid National Park & Alexander Bay
มุมมอง 1232 หลายเดือนก่อน
Cape Arid was the ideal place to visit over Easter as the Esperance area was booked out way in advance. I headed to Cape Arid a day earlier to ensure I got a spot but shouldn't have worried as most people just find a place along the beach and set up camp for the long weekend. Unfortunately I couldn't get to Cape Arid itself as it involves a 25km drive along the beach in very soft sand and don't...
Bremer Bay, Killer Whales & the Amazing Fitzgerald River National Park
มุมมอง 782 หลายเดือนก่อน
My trip to Bremer Bay involved exploring the many beautiful beaches as well as a unique wildlife experience out to Bremer Canyon. A renowned hot spot for Killer Whales, we spent several hours following two families of killer whales diving up to 800m to feed on fish and squid before resurfacing for air and a much needed break. Just north of Bremer Bay is Fitzgerald River National Park. It is one...
The Great Southwest - Porongurup & Stirling Range National Parks
มุมมอง 522 หลายเดือนก่อน
After visiting the Albany area, I headed a short distance north, to Porongurup National Park. The main attraction being the Granite Sky Walk around Castle Rock, which has epic views across the surrounding farmland. A little further north of that is the Stirling Range National Park which has many ragged peaks and challenging hikes. The most famous being Bluff Knoll. A healthy 700m rise over 3km ...
The Great Southwest - Albany & Surrounds, Torndirrup National Park & Two Peoples Bay
มุมมอง 683 หลายเดือนก่อน
Next up on my trip through "The Great Southern" was Albany, Torndirrup National Park and Two Peoples Bay. I visited the Albany Whaling Station and the National Anzac Centre and learnt a lot about our whaling history as well as the Anzacs. I didn't realise they all gathered in King George Sound before departing for battle in the great war. Sadly for many, this would be the last bit of Australia ...
The Great Southwest - Windy Harbour, Valley of the Giants, Elephant Rocks, Greens Pool & Madfish Bay
มุมมอง 823 หลายเดือนก่อน
There's a reason why the area in this video is called "The Great Southwest". Stunning coasts, pristine beaches, towering forest and cliffs dot the coastline which makes for spectacular scenery. First stop was Windy Harbour and it sure lived up to its name. Fortunately the sun was out so managed to explore some of D'Entrecasteaux National Park highlights including Cliff Window Lookout, Point D'E...
Margaret River - Cape Naturaliste, Sugerloaf Rocks, Canal Rocks, Hamelin Bay, Contos & Cosy Corner
มุมมอง 453 หลายเดือนก่อน
Margaret River is an area I've always wanted to visit. Renowned for its wineries, beautiful beaches and surf breaks that line the coast. I started in Busselton and snorkelled around the underwater art trail at the end of the famous pier, then worked my way down the coast from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin visiting the sights along the way. Sugerloaf Rocks and Canal Rocks were a highlight and...
Turquoise Coast Part 2 - Sandy Cape, Jurien Bay Sea Lions & Pinnacles Desert Drive
มุมมอง 304 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've had plenty of memorable wildlife encounters on this trip but nothing beats snorkelling with the Jurien Bay Sea Lions. Renowned as the "puppy dogs of the sea" I can certainly see why. I was fortunate enough to spend over 30 minutes swimming with these amazing animals who were extremely playful and curious. I also stayed at the ever popular Sandy Cape campsite and did lots of hiking and expl...
Turquoise Coast Part 1 - Lucky Bay, Pink Lake, Port Denison & Green Head
มุมมอง 215 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the first video of Western Australia's Turquoise Coast, I travel south from Kalbarri to Lucky Bay and camp in amongst the sand dunes for a few nights whilst exploring the coastline during the day. The beach is protected by reef which makes for great swimming especially when the wind gets up which is often! Next stop was the unique Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon) which is spectacular from above. A po...
Houtman Abrolhos Islands + Flight Over Kalbarri Gorge & The Pink Lake
มุมมอง 315 หลายเดือนก่อน
This journey has been a great educator in regards to Australian history. During my travels in Western Australia, I learnt a lot about shipwrecks dotted along the West Australian coastline, especially the infamous Batavia from the Dutch East India Company. Shipwrecked on one if the many reefs in the Houtman Albrohos Islands with a story of murder and mutiny, I decided to do a day trip from Kalba...
Kalbarri National Park - Nature's Window, Sky Walk, Red Bluff, Natural Arch & Island Rock
มุมมอง 315 หลายเดือนก่อน
Next stop heading south down the WA coast was Kalbarri. A great little town to stay in to explore what the area has to offer. There's lots of walks to do and there's 2 parts to the Kalbarri National Park. One about 40km inland and the other just south along the coast. Inland, I managed to do the loop walk through the gorge alongside the Murchison River. A stunning landscape topped off by Nature...
Shark Bay - Monkey Mia, Dirk Hartog Island & Francois Peron National Park
มุมมอง 805 หลายเดือนก่อน
Shark Bay... WOW, what a place. Most people come here to see the dolphins being fed at Monkey Mia but there's so much more to see and do. A day trip sailing in the bay on Aristocat II spotting dugongs is one of them. I initially spent the first few days in Denham and explored the town itself as well as Little Lagoon on foot and in the van. I also did a day trip to Dirk Hartog Island which is ve...
Kennedy Range National Park - Honeycomb & Temple Gorges, Escarpment Trail & Sunrise View Lookout
มุมมอง 365 หลายเดือนก่อน
It was a bit late in the season to head inland but thought I'd spend a few days at Kennedy Range National Park and do the walks in the late evening and early morning as it was very hot during the day. I'm glad I ventured out from the coast, as the scenery was spectacular, especially at sunrise from Sunrise View Lookout. The colours of the rocks and ranges varied from yellow to orange to deep re...
Coral Bay - Snorkelling with Mantarays & Tiger Sharks!
มุมมอง 745 หลายเดือนก่อน
Coral Bay is one of those places that grows on you. Driving into town, it didn't look like much but after spending some time there, the place got better and better.. Unfortunately the coral in close vacinity to the beach, died recently due to storms that pushed the coral sporn from a recent sporning event back into the bay sucking all oxygen out of the water and killing the existing corals. For...
Cape Range National Park (Exmouth) & Ningaloo Reef
มุมมอง 1536 หลายเดือนก่อน
A lot of people on my travels, raved about Exmouth and snorkelling the Ningaloo Reef so I had to have a look. Considering it was school holidays, I was fortunate enough to score a few different camping spots within Cape Range National Park including Neds, Kurrajong & Yardie Creek Campgrounds. The weather was exceptional so spending most of my time down the beach snorkelling was an obvious choic...

Thankyou. The way the Pinnacles were formed is still up for debate. Some say they were old trees and others say from seashells in an acient ocean. Either way they're a sight worth seeing!
