  • The truck market is in shambles and like many trucks on the market, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma has hit a major decline in sales. With inflated car prices, greedy dealerships, and low quality standards, buyers are fed up. The new Tacoma has been plagued by numerous recalls and ongoing issues with its turbocharged engine have only added to the dissatisfaction among potential customers.

Dealers are STILL tacking on markups on the TRD Pro. They must enjoy looking at their unsold stock.

    3 reasons: 1. Dealer markups 2.dealer markups 3.DEALER MARKUPS!

The most distrustful thing was the huge markup.

I think that most of the information brought forth in this video is pure speculation. You get what you pay for in the 4th gen Tacoma. If you can’t afford to buy one…well that’s on you, not Toyota. The most negative feedback on the new truck is from people that bought the 3rd gen just before the 4th gen was released. The Toyota dealers were giving really good deals on the 3rd gens so a lot of people bought them. When the 4th gens came out their performance records and available options were so good that the 3rd gen owners got a strong case of buyers remorse so they did their best to give reasons to not buy the 4th gens. Ford, the company that had more recalls on their vehicles for the past three years and the undeniably unreliable Chevy owners with 4 cylinder turbo engines, got a pass from the naysayers that bash these engines while Toyota got all the negativity. Why don’t you all just wait and see how reliable all the trucks are before making baseless opinions on how unreliable these out-performers are?

My 2021 TRD OR with long cab, upgraded leather and electronics option was over 50K back in late 2020 after i added a 3" TJM lift/suspension and TRD Pro 4Runnner wheels with Nitto Grapplers and a Tri-Fold Hard top. Back then that was "Boo-koo Dinero".
Back then there was a "$500.00 Military Discount" and they tried to get that taken off with some weak excuse but i stuck to my guns.

In Nov '19 I bought a 2 year lease return '17 TRD Sport Ext cab for only 28K. It only had 25k miles now at 113K. I've was offered 30K in cash a few months ago. Nope, I plan on keeping it for a very long time.

The Tacomas dont have a Turbo V6 6:15 youre talking about Tacomas, then say they arent reliable cause they swapped out the V8 with a turbo v6....no. Tacomas had a V6 and are getting a Turbo 4cylinder.

Reading these comments wondering if anyone understands the new fuel efficiency standards coming by 2031. In the move to decrease reliance on oil and gasoline, the new regulations want 2% more efficient vehicles sold from 2027-2031. That means the average of all cars and trucks sold so companies can no longer just make smaller engines, set them on their dealership lots, and have only the big high torque engines sold. Today, for every large non-efficient engine sold, they have to sell a lot of efficient vehicles to bring that average within required averages. And that’s not even talking about the requirement that by 2031, 50% of vehicles sold must be EV. Auto companies are simply changing their tools and setups to move towards those coming deadlines. The car production process is too complex to allow them to just wait until year 2030 and comply overnight. Regulations have lead to the types of vehicles and engines we have today.

Buying a new vehicle that's had a major refresh, especially an engine refresh, is always a bad idea. Let's face it, Toyota ain't what it used to be, but I still believe in a year or three they'll get these issues sorted and be reliable again. I'd follow the Car Care Nut's advice on maintaining any turbocharged engine and change the oil every 3-4000 miles.

Simply because Vehicle manufacturers base their quality on luxury, rather than durability, like they used to with the old toyota hilux. Vehicles nowadays are made to fall apart rather than to stay together

You got it right, "status symbol" against " reliability " equates to decreased sales volume.😂😂😂 Greed strikes again😢😢😢.

Why does the commentator keep talking about an 8 cylinder engine for the Tacoma. The last gen Tacoma had a 6 cylinder
They now have a turbo 4 . The commentator doesn't know what he's talking about!

Reason why nobody’s buying the Toyota, tacoma it’s because they’re not building trims and the figuration people want I won’t buy one now either because the base model trim is like $8000 more than the previous generation other reason is too much tech and cheap plastic feeling inside the truck, interior

Toyota fought EV and now this stubborn policy killed sales. Killing the inefficient reliable V8 for an unreliable turbo 4 and recalled turbo V6 was not wise. I'll pass. Rivian for the win!
