+Thejoeb I actually have this problem. I'm tall, skinny, with a large package. When I front carry, it borders on being obscene, especially when I wear flat front dress pants. I carry over my right buttock because when I front carry, even guys notice.
Great video! I was paranoid when I first started carrying and found that normal people just don't pay attention. I have carried for many years and have never had anyone notice.
Since having moved from California to Florida, your channel has been my go to guide for practical concealed carry. I noticed it's much more easier to conceal in public than I thought since society has moved towards looking down at smart phones to avoid awkward conversations/silences and simple small-talk. Most guys don't look at another dude's waist-line anyway, and law enforcement tend to fixate on hand movement or other suspicious/hostile body language. In the case of women, I find they don't look at the waist unless they're checking you out.
I think the smartphone culture has more or less saved allot of people when it comes to printing lol that and pushing the limit on how big of a gun you can carry....I swear these days you could conceal a Glock 34 with extended baseplate mags in a spandex unisuit and no one would notice since they are in their phones!
nateo200 Taurus is even capitalizing on cell phone culture with the Curve. They actually advertise that it resembles a phone in shape. I have a feeling that we might see more of this sort of camouflage, as guns gain popularity among the sensible people and misinformed anti-gunners become more paranoid, vigilant, and outspoken.
@AggiePhill I do not carry a spare mag. I carry a speed strip in my front pocket with six additional .357mag rounds. If I can't get the job done with 12 rounds of .357mag I am in over my head anyway. :-)
@barstoolguru I am not a little guy. I am 6'1" and I weigh in at over 220lbs. I assume you are meaning someone who is very heavyset (since taller would not change the dynamic much). In that case use the folds and bulges to your advantage. I have seen some heavy guys hide some big guns under their love handles.
Good info. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life in Hawaiian shirts or shopping from the 5.11 catalog. Hard to pull off the 5.11 safari vest when you are at Costco. Now where did I put that old box of Volcom t-shirts.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you! I needed this video because I will concealed carrying and it is great to know that I can just wear the normal t-shirts I have and not have to go buy a whole new wardrobe. Great video thanks for taking the time to do that!
Very good advice. I am new to the ccw world and still am paranoid. I feel like everyone knows I am carrying. All of your videos are excellent. Great wit and sense of humor .
THe thing that helped me conceal carry the most was wearing my pants slightly higher. I used to wear them around my hips, just raised it up about .5 - 1 inch and it was much more comfortable and much more concealed
Been carrying since 2012 and this video helped me size clothes. I've always liked loose fitting clothes, so it's not much of a surprise that printing has never been an issue of mine.
This is an old video, but was a very important one for me. When I first got my CCW permit, I felt like I had a giant neon sign flashing "GUN!" over my head. Then this video made me realize that no one is looking for it. I sometimes look for others carrying now that I do, but I NEVER looked before. I'm back in school and I've had people who sat directly behind me the whole semester not realize I was carrying (It came up in conversation on the second to last day of class when they mentioned they wanted to get their CCW permit). Almost no one is looking that closely. Thank you for this video.
Another alternative for some weapons is the Sneaky Pete holsters that look like phone/PDA holsters. I use one with my Beretta Nano and nobody pays any attention to it, except for one kid at the local gas station who asked if it was a CD player. The funny thing was that he was mostly concerned that I might actually still use a DiscMan instead of an iPod.
That just happens to be the color of my dining room. if I wanted something to compliment my complexion I would have to find something that goes with pasty grey.
I carry my Glock 27 at 5 o'clock with a Foxx hybrid holster. It hardly ever prints, even with thin t-shirts. It will come up over my shorter shirts if I reach down to grab something, you just have to remember to squat and not bend over. Either way, not a big deal. If someone sees it, shrug it off and go on about your business. FoxxHolsters are only 39$ shipped, I recommend upgrading to the kydex clips and roughing the back up with an old knife when you get it to make it softer.
This is a great video. I think to many people believe that people are starying at them all day. 99% of people are not paying attention to you when you walk by.
@barstoolguru I'm 6'4" and 280 lbs. I ccw under t-shirts, polos, and other types of thin untucked, and sometimes tucked shirts. Usually a Glock 26, but sometimes a full size Walther P99, and I carry IWB.
Thanks for the video. I'm a noob and have been struggling with this. Still in the hypersensitive to any kind of printing stage of carry. Actually seeing this demonstrated rather than just a discussion goes a long way.
You were very correct about most cops not noticing, the most important part is to act relaxed and as normal as you can be. I've lost weight and I can carry my G26 and not be noticed. Good vid, nice work. Long Live the Republic.
I wear my P230 on a separate big belt above my waist. Above the hipbone as you previously stated. Foobus plastic holster. Used to carry Mexican and that was really stupid. In the belt is useless too imho. Imposible to draw.Foobus is cool because the trigger is exposed so you can get your finger in the trigger as you draw up. I have gotten pretty fast. Not Raylan Gibbons "Justified" fast but close enough.
I find a Nike Dry fit tank top works great as an undershirt. It is silky, holds sweat in, and it is lighter than a cotton under t shirt, and it provides protection from the firearm and for the firearm. That is just my humble opinion from carrying with an undershirt. I have no idea why some people feel comfortable carrying a firearm IWB without an undershirt.
OK, but how well does the feel and look when you set down or drive your vehicle? I prefer the lose fitting , one size larger, over the undershirt. loose hanging material covers much better.
Good video, I feel the same way. I carry an inside-belt holster .380. I just wear a "beater" t-shirt with a short sleeve t-shirt over it. I tuck the bottom of my beater under the clip of the holster so even if my t-shirt comes up, the beater is secured over the gun. It's almost invisible most times.
BRAVO! Nice job. I carry a snubby and conceal the same way. I can even tuck my shirt in with a tuckablke holster and no one notices. I go to people who know I carry and can't figure out where it is until I point it out. Good job with the vid.
I carry a 1911, short barrel. Under a t-shirt. And I don't print at all. What works for me is a thinner clip (it does not print), and to pitch the holster forward, about 20 to 30 degrees (still at 3 o clock). To me, the holster makes this possible. Leather can work, but, I use a Kydex. Love these vids, just providing some advice I haven't seen you post yet.
Fun Fact: Its one year since I started looking for guns on people waist. I saw 1 (maybe). It was on fuel station, where clerk had something on his waist ... It could have been gun, or peeper spray or baton or just loosen belt ... Its impossible to identify gun under clothing, unless you really try to show it. I even cant see guns on people coming to shooting range.
How is that a tell? Anyone that has been in the military or understand how to deal with heat realizes a white cotton t-shirt keep you cooler than having no undershirt at all. It wicks moisture away from the body and deflects heat.
Right now, I only have a Sig Sauer P226, which I find kind of hard to conceal in the waistband and I currently have no money to spend on a Sub- compact, Any suggestions for a holster, because i currenty wear a shoulder holster with a light weight coat.
Forget about carrying an additional mag. IMHO, it's more trouble than its worth. This is CC, not combat. If you're really worried about having enough bullets, carry a high capacity semi-auto...if you can't get out of trouble with that many rounds, you're either playing hero or have a death wish.
I'd have to fully agree with the statement of mindset. I never looked for those carrying until I decided to do it myself - even then I have only noticed one because he carried a full size pistol in an obvious way. If people are not looking for it, like most people are not, they will never know.
I actually carry Glocks of all sizes in an outside the waist band Galco holster. I wear Tee Shirts all the time. I cannot wear really tight fitting Tees and not print. But I have never been spotted carrying. I worked with lots of law enforcement for several hours putting out U.S. Flags on a Patriotic holiday and none of them knew I was carrying. I jumped on and off a truck placing the flags for hours. My little Glock 26 and 27 is the easiest for me to carry in a Tee. I agree with you totally.
I try to wear t-shirts that are baggy and have graphics like concert shirts that have front & back print. I’ll also stay away from light colors-always black. Faded black shirts where they are almost grey might see my Glock 30. Newer, blacker shirts would see either my Glock 19 or 30
i wear a 4XL black shirt with PX4 subcompact. question why do most everyone wear 2 shirts? your wearing a white shirt under the black why? im just asking cause its 90' outside humidity is at 87% and its unbearable. 2 shirts why not a coat lol. great video btw.
Printing is less an issue with appendix carry. Sure, it's uncomfortable sitting or driving, but I find my Glock 26 in a N82 Tactical IWB disappears when in front. At 3-5 o'clock positions I have to be more conscious of it. I prefer button down sport shirts but wear baggy Tshirts during working hours.
I just don't like to wear shirts, even t shirts untucked. My job also requires dress shirts every day. What iwb holster would be conducive to CCW with tucked in shirts?
Look at the Crossbread holster. It can be worn with the shirt tucked in and all you see is 2 small clips on your belt that are not very noticeable depending on the color of your belt. A belly band holster would also be something to look at as they seem to work well for some people and are fairly cheap.
Take it off!! WOOOOO!!! On topic: I prefer this method of carrying. It's the most comfortable/easy. I've traded from a Kimber Crimson Carry II to a G17. With the proper cant (and the fact that I'm 240 and 6'3") it conceals just as well. I couldn't do it without printing pretty badly in a "tight" shirt, though.
Your right that people in general just aren't looking / don't notice those things. My wife got cold in the Mall & took my cover shirt leaving me with a compact 45 iwb. Top part showing of course and I was looking and did not see anyone look at me any differently than anyone else. Everybody's mind was preoccupied with so much that they just don't see it. Even the Mall security walked right by me and didn't take notice. Of course if I'd have pants on the ground look some might have noticed.
I have a S&W SD40AE with a side holster that carries another mag. It is bulky. My best experience so far is carrying in the small of my back without a holster.
I expect to receive my permit in the next week or so and I appreciate this video. I know it is not likely but what do you do if a person notices that you are carrying and says something. I know it may depend on what they say but seriously, how would you handle that scenerio?
I have a friend who my daughter babysits for. I went to pick her up one night with my Ruger SR9 in fairly cheap IWB holster with a t-shirt over it. We got talking about guns and I pulled the side of my t-shirt up to show him my Ruger, and he said he never saw any sign I was carrying. You're right, people generally don't even look for it.
Hey Yankee, good video!! Do you do Krav Maga? Nice shirt!! I do Krav Maga and Gracie Jiu Jitsu, and I carry an XD .40 subcompact in a crossbreed holster. Large black tees seem to conceal much better for me.
Until I took my conceal carry class and started carrying myself, I never paid any attention to the "tell-tale" signs of a concealed handgun. Even after I started carrying, it still surprised me when I found out a co-worker also carried, even after seeing the same clips on his belt for the hybrid holster that I use. Just goes to show, when you start wearing a gun, you are the only person who worries about it showing. I've been carrying long enough now that I don't even think about it.
In my experience most people aren't looking for one and I have only been asked once, by someone who may have been up to no good. If someone does notice they haven't said anything, they just give you "the look" and more room.
I would not want to try to conceal a full size 1911, even though I could. I'm 5'10" and about 250 lbs. I carry what is essentially a lightweight commander 1911. Even thought the frame is the same size as a government model, mine a nice round butt. It makes all the difference in breaking up the print, and it's more comfortable. It also helps to have a holster with adjustable cant. With the right holster you can conceal just about anything. I can definitely see how a J frame would be easier though
I agree, people that do not carry rarely ever notice even when its obvious. I live in Arizona and before I started carrying I never saw anyone carrying a gun then all of a sudden I started carrying & now I see about one every week.
Thank you for being considerate of your viewers and wearing another t shirt under the outer shirt. We really do appreciate it.
I always feel like "EVERYBODY can SEE it!"
So, now, while carrying, I just make sure my fly is unzipped.
just make sure your package prints more than your gun and you are fine. redirection at its finest, and chicks arent looking for gun bulges, nomsayin.
+Thejoeb I actually have this problem. I'm tall, skinny, with a large package. When I front carry, it borders on being obscene, especially when I wear flat front dress pants. I carry over my right buttock because when I front carry, even guys notice.
ramoeric LOL!
I get a bit over-conscious about printing when carrying, but forget that almost everybody isn’t paying attention.
Great video! I was paranoid when I first started carrying and found that normal people just don't pay attention. I have carried for many years and have never had anyone notice.

Yankee Marshall, thanks for taking the time to make all these videos. I watch almost all of them and they are very informative
I love that color. Bright color is very important here in the PNW.
Yeah, I would never expect someone wearing a Ruger SRS hat would own a gun.
Great video thanks for taking the time to do that!
this is quickly becoming my favorite channel
you get into the whole modeling thing dude...i notice how you selected the green background to compliment your complexion
Very good advice. I am new to the ccw world and still am paranoid. I feel like everyone knows I am carrying. All of your videos are excellent. Great wit and sense of humor .
I do...but I am getting too old for it. I get injured too often now to go very hard. I am still smarting from an achilles tendon issue a year ago.
THe thing that helped me conceal carry the most was wearing my pants slightly higher. I used to wear them around my hips, just raised it up about .5 - 1 inch and it was much more comfortable and much more concealed
How does that holster make the profile any thinner? I own both and notice no difference.
Been carrying since 2012 and this video helped me size clothes. I've always liked loose fitting clothes, so it's not much of a surprise that printing has never been an issue of mine.

Many medical people still carry a pager. They can be mass alerted in case of emergency.
A little of both.
That just happens to be the color of my dining room. if I wanted something to compliment my complexion I would have to find something that goes with pasty grey.

I had the SR9c. I have never carried the full sized.
I claimed it was a colostomy bag once when stopped by security at Lowe's once.
Awesome to look back on your past videos and can definitely notice your weight loss! Keep it up!
That is very sad in so many ways.
This is a great video. I think to many people believe that people are starying at them all day. 99% of people are not paying attention to you when you walk by.

Who needs gun when you can just go invisible 1:09 haha
If anyone ever asks just tell them it's your insulin pump or colostomy bag. That'll end it.

Thanks for the vid. You say "this works for me," can't argue with that.
I wear xl shirts also. I could get away with a large but sometimes if I reach up the gun shows. I also wear one size up on my shorts/pants.
I like N82 Tactical or kydex hybrid holsters.
It's not an action figure. It is a maquette. The action figures are in the other room.
OK, but how well does the feel and look when you set down or drive your vehicle? I prefer the lose fitting , one size larger, over the undershirt. loose hanging material covers much better.

Speaking of redirection...I was looking at the Wonder Woman figurine on the table in the background the whole time :p
Awesome, ain't it.
We're you looking with one hand perv

Why? So my home can be dull and depressing?
Fun Fact: Its one year since I started looking for guns on people waist. I saw 1 (maybe). It was on fuel station, where clerk had something on his waist ... It could have been gun, or peeper spray or baton or just loosen belt ...

I do that too sometimes.
And? What's your point?
I actually carry Glocks of all sizes in an outside the waist band Galco holster. I wear Tee Shirts all the time. I cannot wear really tight fitting Tees and not print. I like the new more serious format....very professional.thank you
I am...23 lbs in the past 7 weeks.
I have a M&P 9 I guess that would simliar to the 1911 Length and size. Where do you get those clips and holster??
most ppl wont notice printing unless they carry themselves, or are off duty officers... unless the printing is really bad
Or maybe he just likes free hats.
I try to wear t-shirts that are baggy and have graphics like concert shirts that have front & back print.
I’ll also stay away from light colors-always black. Faded black shirts where they are almost grey might see my Glock 30.
Newer, blacker shirts would see either my Glock 19 or 30

what holster is the one yiu had for the 1911 looks very comfortable
@TheYankeeMarshal What happens when you have to go #2? : P
You could also look in to remora holsters or sticky holsters.
You might look at the Galco "Tuckable" IWB holsters.
I've actually been using FoXX Holsters for a while now. I have zero complaints. Their hybrid holsters are awesome.
What's up with morphine pumps and where do I get one?
If you have abs you could.
Excellent demo.
I get your thinking there. As always...good video...Carry on.
great video! just started carrying myself with a xd9 subcompact, this vid was very helpful.
Hey Marshall can I get you to do a video on bra holsters?
I have used that before.
I have one of those. I did a video on it.
do you have an sr9, or just the hat? would a nates tactical pro be comfortable with a full size sr9?
How about with a tucked in shirt?
What do you recommend holstering my diabetes pump and pistol?
Do a video on conceal carrying one of those big revolvers you have. Inside waist band just for kicks.
Extra medium?
Very educational. Is the 1911 a full size grip length or an officers grip length?
Hey Yankee, good video!! Do you do Krav Maga? Nice shirt!! I do Krav Maga and Gracie Jiu Jitsu, and I carry an XD .40 subcompact in a crossbreed holster. Large black tees seem to conceal much better for me.
Why the two t-shirts? I have worn a t-shirt under a henley, sometimes known as a "Walter Beery" (sp?), but never two t-shirts.
Why did you sell the sr9c Did you not like it? What do you carry now?
Do people still own pagers?
Until I took my conceal carry class and started carrying myself, I never paid any attention to the "tell-tale" signs of a concealed handgun. Even after I started carrying, it still surprised me when I found out a co-worker also carried, even after seeing the same clips on his belt for the hybrid holster that I use. Just goes to show, when you start wearing a gun, you are the only person who worries about it showing. I've been carrying long enough now that I don't even think about it.
mj try the n82tactical professional holster. very comfortable and its tuckable
Got any tips for me on that wise?
Whats with the wonder woman action figure?
A CCW holder would immediately notice. I would give a wink and a nod, hopefully you wouldn't think that I was a fruit loop.
No I would just ask why you winked and nodded at me lol
I think most people would think you was gay I would never wink at another man lol
YankeeMarshall - Do you ever appendix carry? Video examples if you have?
In my experience most people aren't looking for one and I have only been asked once, by someone who may have been up to no good. If someone does notice they haven't said anything, they just give you "the look" and more room.
I would not want to try to conceal a full size 1911, even though I could. I'm 5'10" and about 250 lbs. I carry what is essentially a lightweight commander 1911. Even thought the frame is the same size as a government model, mine a nice round butt. It makes all the difference in breaking up the print, and it's more comfortable. Yup, once you know what to look for you start seeing it...but even then you can be fooled. I have thought a tape measure was a gun more than once.
What about bovine creatures?
nice work man, keep it up
