@@retrorelic the goal I was aiming for was simply adding the basic settings that a dreampi does, but with the ability to inject the line voltage from the wic-1am-v2 (or something similar) and being able to connect to v90 or v92 for full speed, it would be great for posterity and future generations of classic gamers to have
@@narniaphuket In this case the VIC3-FXS/DID card is acting as POTS and is actually suppling the line voltage. The WIC-1AM is just an internal modem the cisco uses to connect and provide a PPP connection. You could use just the FXS card and dial between the 4 ports connected to external devices. As for v.90/v.92 you'll need to setup a digital modem (ISDN) for those speeds. I am working on that too but still in the learning process for that setup.
@@retrorelic that's explains a lot. I've been able to dial out but not in. Any wics or vwics that will work on a 1920 series or 2651xm series router? I have a partner level TAC account and access to any image.
@@narniaphuket Looks like there is a VIC-2FXS that will work in the 2600 series. Its only 2 ports though. I'd look for a cheap 2800 or 3800 series as those support the newer VIC3 cards. You'll also need PVDM cards to supply the voice/audio channels for the FXS cards. Thankfully most of this older Cisco gear is pretty cheap to find on places like ebay.
sounds like a clean connection! would love to see the Cisco side
Was my workhorse for my bbs
Still run one for my BBS dial-in node. This setup I'm working on should be step up in stability for it.
Maaaatteeee. Memories. Now open your Browser...in a woman's voice 'Neoplanet, Online.'
Can you 😊post your cisco config?
Working on something for that here shortly!
