Its a little-known fact there Norm, that uh, intermittent fasting works for lowering overall calorie intake as well as limiting insulin secretion. More insulin, more fat storage, less fat burning. 3 meals a day plus snacking, insulin shot each time. With Intermittent fasting, you’re grouping those calories together in a window, (plus as you said lowering the overall calories) so you have less overall insulin secretion, so more fat burning and less storage. Dr. Jason Fung has good info on youtube on this.

Wheezy, you are a manic, unhinged comedic genius, honestly the amount of jokes/gags you fit into a video is freaking insane.
Popular comedy series/shows would have a team of 10-20 writers and a whole crew and they cant get half the jokes you do in twice the amount of time, it's just crazy impressive.

Here's how I've gained a lot of weight:
I've been baking chocolate chip cookies and scones.
    And!
Instead of baking them all at once, I've been keeping the batter in the fridge so that I can have on demand fresh baked cookies in 10 minutes with the toaster oven.
Learning that I could do this has been great for increasing my fat stores!
    ...yay
With this one weird trick, you can be a little fatty too!

So uh... Hey, you giving us the recipe?

    • @confusedwhale
      @confusedwhale 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      @@LucJenson:
      Sure
If you are using a toaster oven, turn on your toaster oven to pre-heat while you mix your fat supplements.
      *_Cookies_*
      1 cup chunky peanut butter
      1 cup sugar
      1 egg
      ½ cup chocolate chips
      1-2 teaspoons Cinnamon
      1 teaspoon vanilla
      1 teaspoon Baking powder
      ½ teaspoon Baking soda
      ½ teaspoon Salt
      Mix all ingredients together
I divided this into 32 small cookies and refrigerated them in a baking pan. Grab 2-4 and bake @ 350°F for 8~ish minutes.
If you divide into 16 cookies, it's 12~ish minutes.
You need to let these cool down, because they are super crumbly for about 5 minutes. Though, that doesn't necessarily stop me.
      *_Chocolate chocolate chip scones_*
Take out *1 egg* to bring it to room temperature.
In a separate bowl (or liquid measuring cup) heat up *¾ cups of milk* (get it very hot).
Add *⅓ cups of cocoa* powder to the very hot milk. Mix it together and then set it aside for later.
(This is called blooming the chocolate, it really does help the flavor).
Then, combine these ingredients in a large bowl:
      *2 ⅔ cup flour*
      *½ cup sugar*
      *1 tablespoon baking powder*
      *½ teaspoon Baking soda*
      *¾ teaspoon Salt*
Next, grate *8 tablespoons of butter* (very cold/frozen) into the dry ingredients. Stirring every now and again to avoid clumps.
Add *1 ½ cups of chocolate chips* to the dry bowl.
Get the cooled down milk and add to it:
      *½ teaspoon instant coffee powder*
      *1 teaspoon of vanilla*
      The *1 egg*
      Mix until combined
Add the wet stuff to the dry stuff
Mix it but be gentle about it.
I keep a tablespoon with this dough, and scoop out 2-6 scone "cookies" at a time. Bake at 350°F for 10~ish minutes.
If larger scones are made, it can take 18-22 minutes to bake.
(You can do other things to this to make it more "scone-y", but you are then entering levels of diminishing returns.
If you don't want to bloom the chocolate, then you don't need to heat the milk, and you can add the cocoa to the flour.
Grating very cold butter into the flour makes it so that you don't have to cut the butter into the flour. It's easier this way.)

You can measure with a tape since at the beginning you are gaining muscle too but losing inches on your body. You can measure your energy levels and general fitness and your general wellbeing. Either way if you are healthy you should look healthy too. May take time but sure is worth it. 60 min walks with healthy eating will bring anyone's weight down over time.

I've started losing weight, the first time in my life I've tried to do so. I miss the days when I was thin and had a metabolism of a hummingbird, but those times are long gone, and the best I can hope for now is getting into a non-embarrassing BMI that will give me energy to live a little bit longer. So far I am reducing my food intake and increasing my dedicated exercising, and this has netted results (4kg/9lbs lost so far) so if I can do that much a second time, I'll be very pleased, and encouraged to try for a third amount of similar, getting me to hover around 80-85kg. I'd be okay with that achievement.

With how awful the food on grocery store shelves is, figuring out how to make stuff at home has had a huge impact on my own health journey. The first thing I tried was homemade granola because I couldn't find a single brand that didn't have a metric ton of added sugar. Check if out, if eating until full and still losing weight is tantalizing.

Weight loss is my favourite topic. Thanks for making this video addressing this subject. You look great! Congratulations on your weight loss!!! Losing weight has been my only 2020 goal. Due to the Pandemic I've been stuck at home, so it's been fairly easy to lose weight. I've been super relaxed working from home so that helped a lot. I started a plant based diet on January. I was way heavier than you: 182.5 pounds. At 5 1, I was obese! Now early December my current weight is: 125.4 pounds. I have a normal weight now. I've lost 57.1 pounds just eating legumes, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, mushrooms. Following Dr Fuhrman's and Dr McDougall's recommendations. I feel happier and more energized and healthier than ever by just eating plants! It's wonderful. The future is vegan ! I'm convinced of that.

This is horrible dental advice! You should brush right after you eat/ drink coffee to avoid a drop in oral pH. Just google Stephen's curve. 😄🤭 but seriously it's a thing.

    • @Dark-le3bn
      @Dark-le3bn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Cube435 your advise is straight up bs
      Think it yourself
Coffee has a lower pH i.e it is acidic in nature, while toothpaste has a higher pH i.e it is basic in nature
So let's say that u Brush ur teeth after 30 mins. What will it do? Welp, you are basically leaving a mild/weak acid on ur teeth(which actually erodes your enamel)
While, if u brush your teeth right after u drink your coffee, the acidic nature of the coffee neutralises with the the basic nature of the toothpaste, hence your teeth enamel doesnt get corroded

    Hey Wheezy, you're doing great!
I'm doing an almost identical routine, albeit with the reckless choice of eating 1500 calories a day, and I've lost 80 pounds since the whole world collectively went "oof" near the start of the year.
A couple of things that keep me going:
Progress pictures. But not too often. Just often enough for me to look at it and say "hey look at that! you look a little thinner!"
Having a size down in clothes to try on every now and again, really makes the progress feel tangible. I learned to do this after I'd lost ~30 pounds and someone pointed out that I was starting to look like I was wearing a bedsheet. Oops.
Linear progression- for me, its weight lifting. But really, linear progression is kind of in everything, right?
Strict diets don't leave a lot of room for cheese, but I try to find a new 'mantra' every day (sometimes book quotes, sometimes a catchy line in a song, sometimes actual mantras), to motivate me.
I didn't really contribute anything of much importance, but I just wanted to say I appreciate you and your videos. Some of your videos helped inspire me, so thank, for helping things suck less.

If you have time alongside your Christmas film bonanza, I recommend that you watch The Snowman from 1982. It's been uploaded to TH-cam for a few years now so should be easy enough to find. It's only 25 mins long so not a huge commitment. Its old school animation and no talking, just some really lovely music to tell the story of a little boy who builds a snowman that comes to life on Christmas Eve
It you have yet more time, I would recommend the double feature of The Snowman followed by Father Christmas. Both are by the same author. The latter is a very different style but its lots of fun. That is also about 25 mins. The double feature has also been uploaded to TH-cam

It's like drinking a concentrate out of the bottle. You are still doing a great job nonetheless. Anyway what did I want to say? It will come back to me in few months. Thanks.

  • @LucasTigy2
    @LucasTigy2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

if you ate that much spinach, you would probably die of oxalate poisoning. also, those beans are probably preventing you from absorbing the protein and other minerals from those eggs, so i'm not sure that's a good idea. i highly recommend getting a blood glucose/insulin tracker to keep track of your insulin levels as that's the main hormone that makes you hungry when your blood sugar drops below normal and eating two bananas a day is probably what made you need that snack. remember: "there's no such thing as a healthy snack". high insulin also leads to metabolic syndrome which is why calorie-counting doesn't really work if you're not keeping track. i would highly recommend adding some red meat to your diet to actually fill you up and to be sure you're actually getting all of your daily nutrients as eggs and salmon are probably not going to cut it unless they're really good quality. plus, you should probably be using cooking fat high in saturated fat and low in unsaturated fat as heating the unsaturated fats will oxidize them but stay away from "vegetable" oils that come from seeds as their omega ratios are terrible, making them extra pro-inflammatory.
one more thing, if you haven't tried carnivore yet, i would recommend it as it has really helped my sister with her asthma when she cut out the unnecessary plant foods (it's also better for your teeth).
there's probably a few things i'm forgetting, but our path to better health all starts somewhere. good luck!
