You should make A Pokémon that is based off of Hispanic toys, its head could be a 3-D puzzle and its arms could be Jacob ladder style arms and the Pokémon itself could be ghost type

Maybe a funny way to evolve Zusk into Blazea would be to have it level up while suffering from the Burned status effect. A flame orb could make this a more reliable obtainment method
I feel like customizable Crustang could be a neat twist on the idea of some or another Pokémon getting a greater degree of design customization that's been present in a few of the more recent games. Imagine being able to apply decals to your Crustang to get its look just exactly right for your personality.
Yesss! It would be so cool! Maybe Crustang could be used as a way of transportation in the game and therefore you would see it in the overworld a lot. Then it would make sense to have the option to customize it!
I think that it's cry would sound like a car engine and maybe it could know some fire type moves

Put some diamonds on it: Ice move! Put some grafitti on it: Dark or poison move! It would be really rad albeit a bit complicated maybe. But a man can dream haha!

Crustang is definitely better than Crabombible. It still looks a tad goofy, but unlike it's counterpart it pulls it off. I also love the idea of it being customized
Crustang would go on my team immediately. I don't even hate Crabominable even though the design is a massive downgrade from Crabrawler. I used one in Sun and it was fun fighting the Elite 4 with it. But Crustang would beat them while looking good, too.
It could customize maybe like furfroo
When you mentioned customizable Crustang, I immediately thought of decorator crabs. If they were a Ride Pokemon, like in Kalos, it would be nice to be able to decorate them with stickers, paint jobs, or entirely new objects.

oh boy i can already imagine Crustang as a ride Pokemon in a desert/city area. With the most over-the-top groovy ass racing music ever. i can already see a frickin Crustang racing minigame you can play for some cool rewards. Crustang is such a cool lil dude
I can also REALLY easily see Flitjitter animated in battle unable to stop moving with it constantly twitching and flying around erratically. It's so frickin hilarious
(and, like another comment down here said, Turquoise and Amber sound like the perfect names for the Mazah region games. Matches the legendaries' colors and special earrings)

Aztec language pro tips from someone that studies it:
“x” is always the “sh” sound
“hu” is always a “wh” sound
“cu” is always “kw”
“qu” is always just “k-“
“ci” on the other hand is “see”
“tl” is a single syllable, not two. You make it by forming the shape of a “t” sound and then pushing out an “L” sound on the sides of your teeth.
Emphasis is always on second to last syllable. You can blame Spanish monks for weird spelling.
Examples:
Cihuatl - “SEE-watl”
Macahuitl - “ma-KA-weetl”
Axolotl - “ah-SHO-lotl”
Huitzilipochtli - “wee-tsee-lee-POCH-tlee”
Quetzalcoatl - “Ket-sal-KO-watl”
By “Aztec language” you mean Náhuatl? Just curious lol

Bonus tip since this is popular - the rule for “hu” ALSO bizarrely applies to “uh” so you get things like “cuauh” which is pronounced “KWA-wuh”
Your tips are true and really helpful!! but the "x" sometimes have other sounds like "S" or "H"
for example the actress *Xochitl* Gomez is spelled like "Saw-Chill"
@@artist0154 In modern Nahuatl yes! In Classical Nahuatl, it is always ‘sh’. That same name spoken by a Mexica lord would be “SHO-cheetl”
0:38 looking at this, I can really see Jack’s improvement in posing, design and art in general! If I remember correctly, the second version was inspired by a fan’s design, but still, the slight changes between the second and third really shows how much more understanding Jack has of the pokemon style and character design in general. Go you!
Concept: Mazian vileplume based on la Catrina. The big hat is a staple of La Catrina's design, and her as a representation of life and death feels like it could apply to vileplume pretty easily

@@abrarnoorani8385 Definitely something like that. I'd say ghost is at the very least a requirement since La Catrina is the lady of the dead. Maybe ghost fairy or ghost poison?
Please do this! Vileplume has always felt like a design downgrade from Gloom!
There could be a mechanic where you can gather different metals to change crustangs shell

I can’t tell you enough how much I absolutely ADORE the pun in Crustang’s name. It seriously has to be the most clever name I’ve seen.
I kinda want a third Evo for the hyper bug, I adore them, though I do feel like there's a bit of a missed opportunity to make the wings into something representing the filament of a lightbulb that glows with energy
In my mind a third Evo could be based on a crash when the energy wears off, and/or inspired by thunderbugs, something big, mean, and possibly sporadic, even if it's sparked out or frazzled it could be very aggressive and still have some residual electricity, maybe it sparks like a broken outlet or twitches with uncontrollable surges that flow through it at times, part of me wants to make it a dark type but it's really not necessary
I'm thinking something intimidatingly awesome like a mega beedrill or naganadel

I peeeersonally felt the design for the moth to be... iffy. Like the eyes are kinda emotionless, the wings don't look like they would be able to fly, and the legs... are just tubes. That one feels the most like he just had a concept and wanted to get it out there. Which, there is nothing wrong with that, and as weve seen, hes gone back and fixed old designs and blown it out of the water. I love most of the other designs in this vid, but that moth... I could see getting a redesign imo
@@Variocom That's fair, the wings are really the only thing that doesn't sit right with me because they look like Pikachu tails, I mean it's not like Pokémon have any real physics so them not looking like they can fly isn't really an issue
I like the zoned-out-ness of the eyes but I wonder if there is a way to make them seem a bit more wired. As for the legs maybe if they were a little more wobbly it would look better, it does have the jitters after all and the first thing that shakes when I'm jittery are my legs

Maybe there can be a split evo? One form is where they had enough energy to properly evolve while the other didn't have enough and would become bug/dark. Like to evolve they would require a lightning stone to evolve at a certain level but if you go a few levels past that mark without a stone they turn into the burnt out form.
I love how original these designs are! And not just "fantasy animal with __ typing", if that makes sense lol. Crustang is probably my favorite from this batch! The concept and execution is just *chefs kiss*

crustang has got to be one of the most fun concepts you've done for this region! if I had a single genie wish to have any of your fakemon in an official gamefreak game, it'd be the crab car.
Crabominable is a concept that I love, with an execution that makes me wish I'd never laid eyes on it. Such a terrible, terrible waste. Crustang though? Crustang slaps.
Wasn't too sure about the design of crustang until you mentioned the customization, cuz y'know... Mustang. And i love that idea! Whole tournaments dedicated to showing off your crustangs drip would be amazing, maybe make em show off like lowriders that jump up and down/ extend, some sort of new furfrew Pokemon would be amazing

An idea I immediately had was that like milcream they could have natural variants based off of different car models and the shiny could be an expensive model or make it look like a cybertruck as a joke.

I can definitely see you making a gym leader/contest star with a Crustang as their partner, thinking rough and tumbl, show-offish, and manly. Either way I love that the pokemon exudes "oddball perfectionist" personality.
I also have to say that flitjitter RADIATES rival pokemon that you really want because of how cute it is but it's only available in like one place near the end of the game and is really out of the way, I'm not sure why.

the cafecaracha line feels like it's missing a third stage in my opinion. maybe a more calmed down but still speedy and hyperactive mon that has fully lost the shell it had as a child. I'm just throwing out ideas but without a final evo it looks like the grubbin line without vikavolt, something you'd toss for a stronger mon post 2nd gym.
Either way, this is definitely one of my favourite mazah mons so far, missing final evo or not.

I could see it as a split evolution more so than a middle. Why not have Cafecaracha's split be a Dark/Bug type that is suffering from the crash that comes from too much caffeine. Where all it wants to do is nothing but rest. Make its moves based around status affects and a sleep/Truant style ability that affects all pokemon in battle
Crustang could definitley be a mascot of the whole region ✨ such a dope design

I was thinking a sloth luchador that starts as a prehistoric sloth that becomes a modern day sloth that's smaller and more nimble when it evolves. Or a pufferfish that loses it's poison when it evolves and becomes a fairy type
that's an interesting idea and a hard one for an artist to tackle
Crustang’s pokedex entry reminds me of that one charchabug episode where they make a small cart for them and race them😂
Crustang is one of the best designs in the series, i imagine an episode in the anime where it's like drag racing, maybe some references to chargabug racing, and then desert hijinks ensue
I Could actually imagine Team Rocket having a Crustang! I mean really, headquarters has got to get sick of them wasting millions on crazy inventions that blow up after 5 Seconds, right?!
So now that money is tight they have to get creative with the way they go about chasing those twerps!
So what do they do? They waste all their money on cheaply acquiring a Crustang which has some kind of crazy problem (which is why they got it basically nothing) of course!!!
That problem can be anything from "it has a bad sense of direction" to "it doesn't realize it's not a flying type Pokemon!" XD
flitjitter is SUCH a good design like it realy does convey being extremely high energy all the time
also i like coffee but it never does anything to energize me or wahtever. i just like the taste

I love how in your Crabrawler design, while it is still clearly a crab, you kind of accentuate the desert feel with the pompadour which looks vaguely like the dard of a scorpion (especially with those pincers). Not sure if that was on purpose since you didn't mention it but I quite enjoy it.
OMG I can totaly see an entire part of the game being about the Crustang thing, like the poodle pokemons in the french region but a bit more pushed. That would be great.
Okay for starters I absolutely LOVE all of these designs, they’re all amazing. I like the concept of the Flitjitter the most, it’s a great concept, however the design of Flitjitter itself not so much.. it’s great don’t get me wrong, but it has the opportunity to be so much better in my opinion. For starters the pikachu tail wings could use some work, maybe the reminder of the coffee bean, just change the shape to something else, or you could make it so that it looks like the veins that are in bug wings are like actual lightning, not the cartoony zig-zag shape or something. But I think it’s biggest flaw is that it looks like a 2nd stage evolution and it works great as that! But I feel like it needs one more thing, or you could just re-design it so it looks more grownup/mature. You could do something like the crash you get after having a ton of caffeine, that would be neat. OR I had a great idea, I have Adhd and when I drink caffeine it actually calms me down, and it allows me to focus easier, so you could make it another branching evolution Pokemon, where it has some specific stats like hitmontop needs all even stats to evolve, it could become super calm/focused! It could be physic type bc that’s like the easiest thing to type a focus/calm Pokémon. Or it could become a FIRE type because of the whole debate weather it has the name of lightning bug or fire fly! These are just some of the first ideas I’ve had for Flitjitter bc I absolutely LOVE the concept!

An idea I got based on another comment was a slip evo. Either they had enough energy (with the help of a lightning stone) to evolve or they didn't have enough leading to a bug/dark form. If in an actual game once it hit a a certain level it would require the stone or else in the next few level it would evolve with insufficient energy. This form could have less hp but it would have vampiric abilities, sucking the energy from others that it didn't during evolution.
I was expecting a Huitlacoche split evolution, but the pop corn one is amazing
somehow Blezea's black smoke kinda resembles Huitlacoche, at least that's what i thought when i first saw it.

I was excited to see a crab Pokemon (because that is what I assumed from the silhouettes), because I love crabs so much, and imagine my joy at seeing one of my favourite Pokemon ever get a regional variant.
Edit: and Crustang shares the type combo of my favourite Pokemon. I'm so happy I need this big guy on my team.
The Crabrawler line would be good with a grass type. First, there's a COCONUT crab, and in real life the yeti crab actually grows emergency food on it's arms in the form of algae.
Crustang is perfect customisable ride pokemon and fighting one as well
You could customise their paint job or decal and their shiny would allow exclusive decall on them.
Thank you for doing Crabrawler some justice. I absolutely love Crustang! Blazea is also amazing, and the fact that were getting another fangame alongside the Kaskade region makes me incredibly excited.
I really love Crustang's design and I would probably have it on my team. It reminds me of Darmanitan, Metagross, and Genesect. Also the shiny is great.
i think this video helped me understnad why i love the mazah seiries so much, because you're designing these pokemon as CHARACTERS, a lot of fan made pokemon are held back by the idea that they're just one of a wider species and so a lot of fans tend to shy away from giving their fakemon designs a built in personality or quirks, leading to a lot of kind of plain "real life animal but with an elemental power" designs, but these fakemon are designed from a place of "how would this pokemon act in the anime? what about it makes you want ot be freinds with it? what relatable or interesting personality traits does it embody?"
I wasn't at all sure about your design for Crabrawler initially, but honestly seeing Crustang totally changed my mind. It's such a great concept and I'm absolutely sold on both.
Maybe Cafecaracha and Vikavolt are always found near one another. Cause I definitely would put them on a team together.
Crustang is truly inspired, I love it, and that's saying a lot coming from an "I hate thing-style pokemon, like Vanilish" type player.
Hah, you missed an opportunity to make Flitjitter an almost-literal "lightning bug" while keeping the characteristics from coffee. Love its bug-eyed look, though ;)
As an aspiring entomologist (though my specialty is wasps in the genus Polistes, which i recommend you check out because the variations in color between individuals of the same species r crazy and i am so passionate abt them) flitjitter is absolutely perfect. i wasnt super sure about its pre-evo but honestly? i was sold when i saw that silly little moth.
on the subject of the possible names for the games of the mazah region
lets look at all previous main series pokemon titles:

we can clearly see that every pokemon game falls into one of three categories: it is named after a simple concept, like a color, a letter, or an object, it is one of those things but with an adjective in front (exclusively remakes), or it is named after one of the key pokemon in that game.
the issue is that, in addition to being insanely unmarketable, "prey and predator" and "tradition and progress" are not simple enough concepts to be game titles. the closest comparison would be if pokemon black and pokemon white were instead called pokemon truth and pokemon ideals (switched obviously). its simply too heavy of an idea.
SO, that leads us, of course, to the big question: what to call the games?
a lot of colors are already taken: red, yellow, green, blue, black, white, scarlet, and violet, as well as gold, silver, ruby, sapphire, and emerald, all of which double as precious stones/metals. sun and moon are basically orange and purple, and dont match the mazah region, so we dont want those, and the color space is already pretty crowded (red, ruby, fire red, y, shield, and scarlet are ALL red), so maybe we can take a look at stones again?
a quick google search brings up the following paragraph: This part of the world is famed as the source for an astonishing variety of rare and enchanting precious stones: agate and turquoise; jasper and obsidian; amber from the Chiapas caves and the legendary Mexican fire opal. Many of these stones are unusual and some unique to deposits in the region.
an unofficial rule for every pokemon game is that the name has to have something to do with the box legendaries, something they have done since gen 3. this line of reasoning has led us into a rather fortunate coincidence: the legendary pokemon of the mazah region went on a rampage thousands of years ago as a result of the jewelry that the mazah people placed on them.
hylarmos has blue earrings, while maripome has orange. jasper, amber, and fire opal are all orange, while turqoise is blue, and agate can be many different colors. its important that the names of the games be recongnizable; everyone knows what the moon is, everyone knows what fire is, everyone knows what the color green is.
and so, here are the names ive come up with:
Pokémon Amber, featuring Maripome, and Pokémon Turqoise, featuring Hylarmos.
these seem to be the most recognizable of all the stones listed, and they both double as colors, which the previous 'stone names' have all done.
i am submitting these as the names of the games (potentially (could be (in my opinion (if everyone else is cool with it))))

I agree that I really want a chansey/audino/indeedee/comfrey pokemon centre healer pokemon, but I dont think we need more grass types. Maybe it could be something like Atelangler, Flabebe or Sirfetchd, where it uses the aloe but it isn't actually part of its body
I think if you want him to make one you have to give a concept like what could this Pokémon be based on it should be more than friendly Pokémon trope it should be more basically what I'm saying is GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT IT COULD BE BASEDNON

I really love these designs! I can already see some monster truck/wrestling/car derby going on with Crustang and you popcorn pokemon typing was a suprise but quite a good thing. I thought of fairy or flying because of the fluffyness but this is awesome!
I have a idea for a legendary pokemon making your duo, a trio. I am a microbiologist and love nature overall. You made a carnivore and a herbivore but did you know about decomposers? They are creatures like bacteria and fungi. They feed of waste and dead materials and break them down to energy and minerals that provide sustenance for plants. Seeing that the Mazah region is a place where creatures like Titanatrop that need a lot of nutrients, you can make a biofilm (group of micro organisms that break down stuff, rust is the most common one) pokemon that feeds on waste and gives nutrients to all of the plants and ground in the Mazah region!

I love abstract representation of pokemon types! I think Urshifu's different forms are great examples of abstract type representations we have seen in a official way. Multi-Strike Urshifu has little to do with water in a literal sense, but its flowing strikes moves as such so it adopts the water typing. Single-strike Urshifu isn't really monstrous, evil, or malicious, but it's fighting style is so rough and brutal that it adopts the Dark typing. I hope we get more pokemon similar to that and the ones coming from Subjectively in the future, they are always so fun.
Crustang rocks! Also I’d love to see a redesign of how you think Crabominable could be done right, because I’m in the same boat as you since I love crabrawler but never want to evolve it.
I love these designs, I was on stream when you did the popcorn one, I think that you should make more fakemon based on the Aztec gods, as of now the fire starter is the only one

If this was an actual game, it would be awesome to have a body shop in one of the towns or bigger cities where you could customize your Crustang, if you had one.
Also, it would be fun to have it as a ride pokemon: I have this vision of riding around town on a custom Crustang like a badass :D
Personally, I love cafecaracha. They're cute and I think the electric typing is well shown.
I'm.... conflicted with Crustang, on one hand it's a great design and leagues better than Crabomidable; But on the other hand, it look more like it belongs to a separate pokemon line or its own single stage rather than a Crabrawler evolution.
I agree, but Crabominable doesen't really look like Crabrawler either except for some colors sooo
@@max_punch Well that’s kinda one of the problems that should’ve been addressed, making the improved evo look more like Crabrawler. Also, you could argue this is falling under the same trap as Crabomidable.
EDIT: You can also argue at the very least at least Crabrawler and Crabomidable have similar silhouettes

Blazea looks so friggin' amazing, and I love the Crustang idea and surrounding design possibilities in game from its inclusion as well. When you said Grass / Fire, I was thinking either that or Ghost / Fire, as it being "popped" is kind of like the death for corn, and "ghost" would be more of a loose interpretation of that, similar to energy being a loose interpretation of Electric-- But Dark / Fire works plenty too.
I've had a concept for a Pokemon I would love to see you tackle. Lavacado (Lava Avocado) similar to the earth having a hot core Lavacado would have a hot core and hot temper. When Lavacado used Explosion in battle it evolves into Magamole (Magma Guacamole).
I absolutely LOVE Crustang!!! I adore crabs and my top two favorite Pokémon types are ground, then steel, so this hits every box for me. LOVE IT!!
based on the dex entry for Crustang, it would have been a great opportunity for a pokemon with multiple versions of itself like Alcremie
that would actually be awesome! or maybe you could take your crustang someplace to change its colors and/or design, like furfrou!
Concept: Allow Crustang to learn Genesect's signature move Techno Blast, modified by the type of Drive it's holding. This would allow for functional customization of its appearance, changing at least part of its color scheme for each type of Drive, similar to Arceus with is Plates or Silvally with its Memories.

a pokemon that has split evolutions but the split evolutions will evolve into the same pokemon like a fire and ground type will evolve into A. fire and water then B. ground and steel. then the to split evolutions will evolve into the same pokemon whom will be water and steel

I feel that the Mazda region needs a butterfly based Pokémon. I’ve read a few things about how monarch butterflies always migrate to Mexico around The Day of the Dead maybe you can connect one of your Day of the Dead themed Pokémon with this somehow and make a completely new Pokémon or a regional variant for the caterpie line, or any of the other caterpillar to butterfly lines. I’ve also read that the Aztecs would call monarchs “ the harvester butterflies” because they would migrate back to Mexico when corn was ready to be harvested. You could connect the Zea-Zaya line with it maybe. It is also said that monarch butterflies are represented in the Day of the Dead as the souls of peoples ancestors returning to visit them for the Day of the Dead. This was just a thought I had that might look cool in your region.

To emphasis the fact that it's bevause of the trainer, it could be a move that can only be learned via tm or move tutor, like if it learns the opposite move from return or something like that

After being shown how close crabs look to the front of a car, I've never wanted to see a beach buggy crab hybrid more than I do now.
Yes! I remember asking for a Mexican jumping bean pokemon when you were first making your regional bug pokemon. And the designs look so awesome! Out of all of the fakemon that I've seen, yours have to be the absolute coolest

I know it’s a little niche, but I absolutely love tiny Pokémon, like Joltik or Flabebe. I know you already have a few smaller Pokémon, but just a really tiny god slaying Pokémon is what I’m here for :)

As someone who doesn't really mind Crabominable all that much, I have to say that Crustang is a really cool alternate evolution. It keeps the same towering physique and level of outlandish design of Crabominable, but it exchanges a design inspiration from real-life "crabs" for looking powerful and cool instead of powerful and monstrous.
These concepts and designs are always so amazing.

I absolutely adore the way ninjask is constantly moving, and flitjitter taking that concept to 11 is so amazing that it might be my new favourite pokemon of all time!
Flitterjitter makes a lot of sense because the coffee bean developed caffeine in the first place as a poison for BUGS. After bugs eat the coffee plant, they vibrate and move so fast that their hearts and bodies just give out. It also reminds me of those moths that evolved to look exactly like a hummingbird, which works thematically! Good work.
I must say that this was an interesting video.

As a theater employee it would've been really cool if you made it so the corn husk for shiny Blazea resembled a traditional popcorn bag with red and white.
Love the design of Crustang. Would absolutely be one of my 6. A cool riff on the customization of the shell could be that what you feed your crustang creates the patterns rather than painting it since they're steel typing comes from eating scrap metal

I LOVE crustang so much! I could see a gym leader with one as their ace, and the gym is themed like a car show
I just got an idea! So the in-game way to get blazea is to reach its evolution level but not having a good relationship with them. So if your not caring for it actually and just leveling them up to trade or to just get all of them your not gonna have your happy cornstalk, but some angry popcorn. (Also if blazea were to have a higher chance of not actually doing the move you picked would be chefs kiss, this comment is just a suggestion though!)
I guess Zhusk got a bit too 'heated' in one of their conversations that they they turned into popcorn.
Anyways, jokes aside, I really liked how all of these mon's turned out, especially Crustang!

@@connorschultz6194 It's Hidden Ability could be something like Anger Point but instead of maxing the Attack stat, it instead maxes out Special Attack.

I would love to use Crustang on my team
I just had a big idea and its something to do with the legendaries ok so just imagine this
After the legendary Pokemons wear sealed away they left a little bit of there powers to new Bron babies but when the babies turn 18 the power disappear from them but when they had kids the power transfer to them and that power is the key to awaken the legendary Pokemons but after they awake they kids may or may not die from the amount of power taking from them
For design I imagine the traditional one being more of a traditional woman how wears traditional clothing and her and her family knows that one day she will sacrifice her life to awaken the legendary
For the other one I imagine a mother look to representing change a girl who wears modern clothes and very accepting to change
I also imagine the evil pokemon team (you can call theme what ever you want) will kidnapped the kids into awakening the pokemon so that they could control theme
when the Crustang sketch started coming in and i just kept repeating "car? car????" out loud to myself at half past midnight, i felt i was losing my mind, I LOVE THIS DESIGN

I was totally expecting a ghost grass type for the split evo. The concept I had in my head was completely different from what was shown here, as I was thinking a kinda pun related name, as sometimes a grandfather is called "Pops", so "Pops Corn". I thought that maybe though kinda morbid, and ghost popcorn grandpa would have been kinda neat, but nonetheless I think this design here is very cool.
3:08 this coloring actually reminds me of fighting types a lot. Glad you ended up changing it, because I would’ve assumed it was gonna be a fighting dual type if I encountered it in a game.
I hope you guys make a whole art book with the mazah region! With all your story descriptions and designs, I haven't been this hyped for a pokemon region in awhile , wish it was being made into a cannon pokemon game so badly T.T I love how much love and detail goes into your world!
