It did take a little time, cuz I have a LOT of digital games, but it was worth it, and yes, games like Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing still have all of your progress! Thanks for this video! I was worried about losing my progress, but now I have nothing to worry about, and now I have more storage on my Switch! ^^

I did this method and it worked perfectly! :D I formatted a 512GB micro SD card and moved all my data from my smaller 128GB! :) One note: when it came to Rocket League, I merely archived the game data, and once all the other data got moved, I merely re-downloaded the game onto my bigger memory chip! :D No PC needed, at all!!
Just used this method today went from 128 to a 500ish gb card only took an hour at most to move most of my games but my Fortnite,Apex and Overwatch were too fat to go back in my console so i had to individually download but once they downloaded it was like normal. So thank you so much! 😊
Do games too big for system storage have to be fully deleted off of the old micro sd card to be downloaded onto the new one? Haven’t been able to download things onto a new sd card before that I had on the old one

This is very helpful for sure and I have to try this for myself since I ordered another Nintendo Licensed SD card with 1TB data. One thing I have to ask first is this: Do you have to format the new SD card before you start transferring stuff from the old one to the new one if you’re doing this method? Also there are some games that cannot use the Save data cloud for my thing as they aren’t compatible, just an FYI.

@@ninjajar7493 I honestly forgot how to but I’ll try to explain what I know. Go to settings and go to data management. Then scroll down and click manage screen shots and videos. *Also do u want to photos and videos in ur sd card or in system memory?* Click save location. If u want to save in sd card then click the sd option when u tap on save location(if it’s to save in system memory then do the same steps except put in the system memory and not sd card option). After, u see the “copy/delete screenshots and videos” right under the save location part. There u can easily copy all photos/videos. Just read what it says since like I said I forgot. I think it might be in reverse like if u wanna copy pics/vids in sd card it’s gonna say if u want to copy in system memory. If it does then click the system memory one since it should say copy to sd card. If u have over 100 pictures/videos ur gonna have to copy them 1 by 1 in ur gallery(which is in the home page). After u copy 1 by 1 after u can delete the replicas that were saved on ur system memory. There should be a filter option I think is what it’s called in the gallery and u can see what’s saved on sd card and what’s saved on system memory. I had to do 1 by 1 unfortunately cuz I had over 200 pictures/videos lol. If ur still stuck lmk and I’ll do what I can to help.

No, it shouldn’t. The Cloud Saves are just in case a file gets corrupted or accidentally gets deleted due to user error. Anytime you’re moving data there’s a small chance something could go wrong which is why I chose to pay for the ability to Cloud save. But you should be ok as long as you take your time and make sure all transfers are complete and power off the Switch before removing the SD card

I've never seen that happen before. I don't want to give any suggestions that I would try just in case the save data gets lost. But the SAFE route is to call Nintendo's customer service number which can be found on Nintendo's website.

This is by far the easiest method. Yes you can do it with a PC but that takes even longer to do.

But you can always double-check. Animal Crossing seems to be the exception.

In your system settings there's an option for transferring your saved videos and photos that is a separate menu item.

Does it have a limit ?
The card sizes are your limits.
It specifically said “save data cannot be moved”
(Never mind, it says to move it to the system memory if you want your save data to be lost)
Will this work for splatoon 2 and for some reason my animal crossing won't appear in save data cloud in data management any advice?
For animal crossing you need to enable cloud data backup within the game. Then it will start syncing.
