Me too. I'm 30, grew up playing these games. And I've played through 7, 8 and 9 numerous times. And I always make sure I unjuction what I need and keep aura lion heart in the holster just to make sure it's a challenge. I'm a total fanboy, I guess it brings me back to my childhood before I knew all the secrets and grinded the bosses out the old fashioned way.

I love this one-and I love that you preserve the original vibe of these songs. In this one, the pronounced drums are a must! I heard another remix that diminished the prominence of the drums and it just wasn't the same. This is the best remake I've heard so far!
Great version, still want to see a version with authentic guitar sounds and not synthesized guitars put through pedal effects. Still, very awesome. I'm sure those versions are out there, I just haven't actively looked. Maybe I should try.
@BitSymphony Have you ever listened to "Awakening" from the Final Fantasy XI OST?' I feel it's one of the greatest pieces I've listened to, though I really am a sucker for string and percussion. If you haven't, I highly recommend having a listen, and possibly trying an arrangement of it.
I love this remake. But I gotta say that I don't get it, why do people love the melody so much? I don't think it's bad but it's a bit boring (the original ), the other battle themes of ff8 are way better

It's like do or die situation. It is the beginning of the end after a long journey. Like the guy wrote earlier. Its like you're being hunted & primal.
