Thank you for your honesty and bravery in your opinions. It is so great to see that Cambodian people are appreciated. They are hardworking, friendly, kind, and helpful people that sometime goes unnoticed because Cambodia has gone through war and the is yet to be known to the world.
Happy to hear that Cambodia is getting more notice to the world and how much a small country can provides for the people that visits Cambodia.
*Cambodia welcomes all people from the world with respect and kindness*
I wish you many more happiness, success and love in your journey. ❤

Which region of Vietnam? Vietnamese from North, central/highlands, and south are very different. Central and Highlanders generally will be very friendly especially away from big city because life is much slower and more laid back. Just like being in NYC is different than being in the midwest, US. I really dislike this sort of comparison video because it seems to make it sounds like people in these countries are all the same or doesn't have a different regional culture that influence who how and who they are...

When I lived in Massachusetts for 32yrs I would say 70% of my friends and best friends were Cambodian. I was around them and their culture for 25 yrs and my last place I lived 2yrs ago in MA before I moved it was a Cambodian house I lived in for 7yrs. I moved back to Puerto Rico to be with my family and already had 2 Cambodian friends visit and stay at my place. They loved it! Cambodians are like my 2nd family. 🇰🇭🙏🏽

I am from India 🇮🇳. I disagree with the point that Cambodian people are friendlier than Vietnamese people. In my opinion, in general (not all,) Cambodian people are friendlier towards Caucasian people of darker complexions like me. When I first traveled to VN, I found that people were genuinely nice and friendly. A few sellers I spoke to were happy to know that I am from India 🇮🇳, apparently, people from India have a bad reputation for bargaining down to the last cent ( Doesn’t help me when I look like I am from India) I found that it was much easier making Vietnamese friends Than Cambodian friends. I never got some warm feeling in Cambodia 🇰🇭. So that is one of the main reasons I became a fan of Vietnam and why I keep returning. This is just my personal view.

Vietnamese culture is similar to Chinese so like in China you get similar results, meaning the people aren’t trying to be all smiley and cheerful but I’m sure they’re all good people just it’s the culture there. Same in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan etc very serious looking folks who’s main focus is work and making money. Although in Japan you can escape to the anime world and have some Kawaii moments hehe. In Thailand, Bali and Cambodia the people are very friendly especially those working in hospitality or tourism. Also the way of life is slower I think.

It would be more surprising for you if you understand the native language you can easily find people from street vendors, students or workers discussing about politics, economics or technique at every corner of the nation.

cambodia-thailand-myanmar are predominantly buddhist cultures. buddhist philosophy and mindset are deeply rooted in their behavior and attitude. together with japan and sri lanka and bali, you feel this serenity vibes when you visit but there are darker problems hidden. korea, china and vietnam are more confucian than buddhist, which means their mindset is ruled by status, obligations and reputation. hence they are also more competitive and "aggressive" especially in the cities where confucian concepts of "respect" and "hierarchy" compete with post-modern capitalist pressures to earn money and gain a higher status.

Vietnamese has a pirate period. Some Vietnamese are descendants of pirates so they tends to be more aggressive.
The superiority complex is because it is harder for Vietnamese to migrate to the US than for Cambodia. Moreover, because VN is a communist country, most American-Vietnamese are likely to abandon their VN identity, thinking they are in higher position than the rest.
