Of course Mira Troy wasn't concerned about being arrested, she is Moriarty, after all, Sherlock Holmes archrival and perennial nemesis. I do applaud the creators in having Professor Moriarty be not only a woman, but also a woman of color.
I laughed so hard when he said having three sisters could clue you in and maybe turn you a little bit gay, I woke the freakin dog up.
Brad babe I hope you realised there was a scene after the credits. It’s allows for a lead into movie 3 - Watson is introduced (he was Sherlock’s detective partner) also Mira Troy (Moriaty) is like Sherlock’s arch nemesis!

BRAD, THANK YOU!! I’m so glad you understood the magnitude of this movie in terms of women’s rights. I was lucky enough to grow up in a household that empowered women and learning about important history that they don’t teach in school. And I knew about the Match Stick Girls since I was a little girl so this movie meant THE WORLD to me, finally bringing to life something I heard all my life. Not a lot of reactors really understand the weight this piece of history holds. Thank you for always recognizing the misogyny and injustice in whatever you do.
And I really hope they keep making these Enola Holmes movies. Growing up, there weren’t a lot of movies or tv that really dove into these topics for young girls and my mom really had to dig for stories that empowered girls. I’m insanely grateful and thrilled to see more and more things like this coming out for young girls to watch and be reminded of the power of their voice. Can’t wait to have a family so I can share these with them one day too.

seeing david thewlis in yet another film, after loving him (along with helena bonham-carter) in the harry potter series, made me love this movie even more - and the fact he was an INSPECTOR was the icing on the cake (he has previously played inspector Goole from bbc's an inspector calls, which is one of my faves) :D
The first Enola Holmes also had Petunia Dursley (the headmistress) and Madame Maxime (the grandmother)! When I first watched EH1+2 I was shocked to see so many familiar HP faces lol

That feeling you get watching this movie when you figure the mystery out alongside/before the characters is the epitome of good mystery writing! It's what made the original Sherlock so captivating and addictive too!!! Mysteries should be solveable, if not on your first watch, then when you go back and see the clues the writer left for you. I just think these movies are a good example of this and this aspect is very underrated. Love your reviews and solidarity with women💞
