You can only imagine the nostalgic vibes this album brings. Things were so much simpler back them - it really isn’t the same anymore. This aging like Wine.
I’ve been with you guys since TPABF and you guys deserve so much more attention than you get. Great and genuine reactions plus the dynamic is priceless. Keep doing what you’re doing. Mike I really appreciate your ability to truly put yourself into the music and listen to what’s being told.
@@bonesplinter3587I think it was the sample. You can hear the song in the Assassins Creed Revelations trailer. I think something happened with the rights.
just a note on keisha’s song: in SAMIDOT Kendrick raps in the perspective of Keisha’s sister who is mad at Kendrick for “exposing Keisha” by putting out Keisha’s song. It wasn’t Keisha mad at him, as she is dead. Just to clear things up if you were confused👍👍
HiiiPower is a tough listen. Alori Joh was Ab-Souls girlfriend who took her own life mid career by jumping off a radio tower. So her singing on the track with some of the lines like the Kurt Cobain one, really hits you. Then we almost lost Ab-Soul the same way. You guys should cover Control System. Book of Soul explains their history together and is one of the most powerful hip-hop/love songs ever IMO.
Really appreciate you going back to this album. I for sure requested this when I first watched you guys react to Kendricks new Album. Also I thought Overly Dedicated was his first album. I pray you guys give it a reaction, Overly Dedicated that is. Keep up the good work you guys are dope AF 👍
Funny your dad mentions how he could see HiiiPower as a Kanye song, Kendrick's "5 star dishes, food for thought bitches, I mean this shit is" is a refference to Kanye's lyrics off So Appalled from MBDTF. Love this album
Everytime I tear up listening to this album, actually anytime i listen to any of his albums. Your dad put it really well on keisha's song I used to not listen to it because it was hard to go into that space. We're blessed to have him on this earth!
I used to have this album on repeat in highschool the year it dropped. Section 80 Kendrick, Mixtape Cole, and Take Care Drake were the soundtrack to my first two years of highschool
To me, his best albums are Section 80, to Pimp a Butterfly, and Mr. Morale. All are fantastic but these three standout more to me personally, in terms of lyrics, music, and emotional impact.
Not to brag but one of the best nights of my life was seeing Kendrick open for Kanye on the Yeezus tour in Phx in 2013 my 2 favorite hip hop artist all time the same night. Even early Kendrick was ahead of 99% of artist.
It is also noteworthy, that Kendrick referenced Keisha’s Song on his TPAB song ‘U’. Basically how he made a song strictly for his little sister highlighting teenage pregnancy, only for her to become a teen mom to his niece.
Section 80 is probably better than every J. Cole album. I'm saying this becauae is also a conscious rapper but yet in all his albums have never explored topics as deep as Kendrick did in his second project.
Very wrong. Listen to the warm up, sideline story, born sinner, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, 4 Your Eyez Only, all very conscious and explore a variety of topics like this one. They’re the two best ever but because of Section.80 will always put Kendrick a tad above due to the sheer creativity.
51:44 Mike and his son: *talk over ab soul's outro*
51:55 Kendrick: "can you repeat that for em soul?"
You can only imagine the nostalgic vibes this album brings. Things were so much simpler back them - it really isn’t the same anymore. This aging like Wine.
Yeah man. Good times, easier times
Bruh. My senior year 😢
Sing about me was her sister talking to Kendrick, she went down the same road as she did
Literally just smoking vibing with y’all, takes me back to when I first listened to this in 2011!
Have a great day bro glad you could stop in 🫶🏻
Keisha’s song is one of the best Kendrick Lamar songs. I don’t know any other mainstream artists who bring those kind of topics to light
Facts! the song isn't talked about enough
Cole
the change in your dad is literally movie worth, the game survivor worth, what a transformation 🔥
Chapter six & Chapter Ten are two of the most underrated hip hop songs ever, can’t wait to watch this rn !
I’ve been with you guys since TPABF and you guys deserve so much more attention than you get. Great and genuine reactions plus the dynamic is priceless. Keep doing what you’re doing. Mike I really appreciate your ability to truly put yourself into the music and listen to what’s being told.
Appreciate you so much glad you’re still rocking with us!!! 🫶🏻
This tears me up taking me back to 2016 when I first listened to this album. :')
to everybody that wasnt around when this dropped. it was NEVER a mixtape, its Kendricks debut Album on TDE. GKMC is his major Label debut.
Keisha's song is so emotionally impactful...
The reason why Chapter 10 isn' t track 10 is because track 9 "The Spiteful Chant" was removed from streaming
Why was it removed?
@@bonesplinter3587I think it was the sample.

“Chapter 6” samples “Hey” by We Are King. Highly recommend to check out their album r&b/soul for relaxing & driving
Some incredible songs on here. Ronald Reagan Era still holds up as one of his best.

Wow I never knew that that’s tragic.

omgg this is friggin greatness the best ive ever hear holy shit
Yessir!!!
One of the best rap albums imo.

When I heard it in a tiktok I genuinely thought it was a kanye song until I looked at who it was by lol
Kennys energy here is unmatched
44:41 is when I knew your dad was a real 1 👍🏿
That flow on Chapter 10 is forever one of my favs over that slinky ass production.
Can't forget about overly dedicated mixtape that started a lot of kdots progression, ignorance is bliss will always be one of my fav tracks 🔥🔥🔥
Great vid. Dot is Goated!

Albums feels different without spiteful chant on there, OGs know the true LP
Put stop on deployment, caught up on all of your videos 🙏🏽 hopefully yall dive into Lupe soon
Yeah we definitely need a reaction Food & Liquor
And also, my favorite, The Cool 😎
I always forget how great this album is
wow this is friggin fire

I am so jealous wow that must have been incredible
Y’all should check out the Heart series from Kendrick
Section 80 isnt really his debut album. It was a mixtape first and after GKMC came out they decided to start selling it.
Lyrically this his best project imo.
mmatbs
Always forget how many quiet classics are on this tape, F*ck your ethnicity, ADHD, Ronald reagan era, Poe mans dreams, Rigamortus all top tier.
great pick
The warm up, J Cole next please!
Kendrick >
@@user-tq9ed9xz1xj Cole>
You should show him the heart series those are some of Kendricks best songs
They really should.
the fact that kendrick made Keisha's song at the age of 23 in 2010 is just mind blowing
The call back to Keisha’s song on sing about me is from her sisters pov not her own
It is also noteworthy, that Kendrick referenced Keisha’s Song on his TPAB song ‘U’. Basically how he made a song strictly for his little sister highlighting teenage pregnancy, only for her to become a teen mom to his niece.
Never knew this
Yeees
how does it feel trying not to lip sync the majority of these bar for bar i wouldn’t be able to contain myself..
just subscribed to you btw
It’s so hard I have to contain myself on so many albums lmao, thanks for the sub!
Rigamortus is honestly amazing. I never get used to that beat.
Have you ever considered doing a re-reaction to to pimp a butterfly specifically?
Yes we will!
Man I’m still trying to figure out is this my favorite rap album of all time. Every song is fire not forcible fire but all a go.
Red (Taylor’s Version) next!!
You need to do untitled unmastersted
Thank u next pls
Is this album part of his best 3 album run? Section.80, GKMC and TPAB? Or do you guys prefer the run from GKMC to DAMN.?
Probably gkmc to damn for me personally
Kanyeeee nexxtttttt
Spiteful chant is the missing song
I still think this is his second best album behind GKMC.
Literally my personal favorite album
You need to do “untitled un mastered” !!!
Im sad to miss the stream cuz you know, i got bills lol. Great stream though!
Next time ghost! 🫶🏻
You should react to the untitled album btw you guys are great I always suggest you guys to the homies
been here from the beginning. Andre 3000 has best rapper ever, 💯 there is no other option
You should react to the heart series.
