@@tejas.a06 obviously, but it came out almost 10 years ago and in my experience talking about it, a lot of young people have HEARD of it, but they're not FAMILIAR with it. Like they know a couple of the songs but haven't listened to the whole thing through. I just think the whole album is an experience more people should have had.
I know you are an editor and you want to explain the music videos, but the thing with kendrick is that you dont get the meaning of the song in the story if you react to one song because there is a deep story in the album, the "i remember you was conflicted" part is a poem, and that poem builds itself throughout the album, the last line on the part of the poem of the track is foreshadowing the next one. For example, the lines added in this song are "didn't wanna self destruct, the evils of lucy was all around me, so i went running for answers", and in the next song " For sale (interlude)" its talking about Lucifer's temptation. Also the song before alright is "U" which is kendrick blaming himself for everything, making "Alright" a very optimistic song in the album because is after the depression. I know its a long comment and sorry if my english its not perfect, thats because im not a native english speaker. Also keep the good work your videos are pretty good.
Kendrick is presenting to you his world, or the world of people like him that so many try to avoid and ignore. It's a 'slice of life' type of music video. The lyrics are also part of a poem from "To Pimp a Butterfly." Also, the segment where the cops are carrying the car is an homage to Busta Rhymes' "Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check" rap flow that, in turn, plays homage to Sugarhill Gang’s “8th Wonder."
The dancers are Bay areas turf dancers… 12:05 the one on top the building is from the group the Turf Feinz. I love that while Kendrick is from Compton he showed so much love to Oakland.
this was the best breakdown of the video! So much to unpack, so many little details that I could never pick up on before. Truly made me appreciate Kendrick's MVs and artistry only so much more! And the way you explain how the actual filming and each shot could have taken place is truly mindblowing and insightful! Please checkout these from Kendrick as well- We Cry Together & The Hillbillies (first one is one long shot, but amazing again. second one is just kendrick and his cousing having fun, pretty interesting video to check out), Wow Freestyle (techinically a feature but the video direction screams kendrick lamar), ELEMENT. (popular suggestion) & similarly Count Me Out (similar style in that both are stacked with cinematic stills and shots that can be their own music videos)
Kendrick's entire discography is an ongoing commentary on his own religious hypocrisy as he learns and grows over the years while dealing with fame and the idolatry that comes with it. It all culminates with Mr Morale, his 2022 album, where he comes to terms with his past and laments being put on a pedestal that he can't live up to. It's really good stuff! Check out N95 - every scene looks like a work of art and the imagery is full of interesting symbolism
16:19 My mother was a photographer, and was giving that mug for her birthday. My first video here. So glad that I found you. Looking forward to more. Love your genuine reaction and in-depth explanations. New sub! 22:27 You’re saying it right! What’s hot now? Doechii’s Denial is a River.
Shoutout from England. Pharrell Williams produced this song and is on the chorus, Kendrick's music is generational, incredible artist, love the reaction/breakdown!
Honestly, you should probably just react to the entire To Pimp a Butterfly album. I'm not entirely sure if full album reactions are in your wheelhouse, but TPAB is so good that it's absolutely worth it.
I'm so glad I found your channel! As a Day One Kendrick Lamar fan, love that white brothers & sisters are discovering the amazing, hip hop lyricist and creative mastermind that Kendrick is🔥🔥You should react to LOVE from his album, DAMN. There's a reason he won a Pulitzer prize for that album! The first & ONLY rapper ever to win a Pulitzer for rap.. 👏🏾👏🏾
I would suggest the “we cry together” music video, maybe not for a full video because it has almost no effects but it’s one of the best storytelling videos I’ve ever seen and would be very cool for you to react to it, loved the video! 😁
kendrick really deserved his pulitzer. But also big props to dave meyers for being the person to get me interested in the cinematography of music videos.
If you’re interested in a dissection of the lyrics, the Dissect Podcast is a good start. Each song is a compact episode, and they do a great job. Alright is Season 1, Episode 9
I just found out that this song was produced by Pharrell Williams. He's actually on the hook. This is my favorite song by KDot, and I just balled tears outta control when I found this out. The movie Piece by Piece is about Pharrell and how he came to be. And it's done in Lego!
Amazing video. If you want more recommendations for kendrick I'd say ELEMENT and DNA are good options. And I highly recommend Tyler the Creator as well. All of his videos are great, but I'd love to see you react to either Noid or Thought I Was Dead
Yay! More Kendrick videos please! I recommend "All The Stars" ft. SZA Edit: Hell yes we want an extended version for this video! Tell us! Break it down please.
I watched your two reaction to kendrick and, as an kendrick fan, I really enjoyed. I hope you can make another reactions about his other music videos like element, count me out, DNA, not like us. All these music videos are amazin, have a good edition and a lot meaning behind, so it could be a interesting reaction (sorry by my english, im learning)
He has so many great music videos but I have to say count me out video still brings me to tears also we cry together is a amazing ppl say it’s a one take video
Element, N95, Count Me Out and Not Like Us are all great music videos from Kendrick and you should 100% make videos about them! He has some of the most artistic, aesthetically pleasing music videos I’ve seen.
Kendrick is an all around artist and I don't want to take you away from his journey. Snoop and Dr. Dre released a short movie called Missionary. Effects are awesome and it's shot very well.
N95 and Rich Spirit are also amazing videos. Rich Spirit is actually just him in the video. By the way, just subscribed and truly enjoyed your reaction too 🔥🫡
Another 🔥🔥🔥video is Element, also from his album DAMN. Similar to his Alright music video, filled with symbolism and powerful messages from where he came from, Compton.
Not sure if you have seen it, but there is a video explaining the whole album the the song humble is from, the video is on a channel called TennisThom, the video is really good and does a great job at explaining the song and album meanings
7:32 (Partial) Gun nut here. Yeah that’s a blank, looks like a 9MM P.A.K round. I can tell because the tip of the bullet is rounded and not finned like most blanks. Kinda adds to the bullet looking like a real round, more specifically like a hollow point. Which actually are the real rounds police use. Incredible attention to detail in this video with small things like that.
the camera man is not dong the focus, the 1st assistant (akafocus puller) is... the most unsung of heroes ... proven right here by a video editor that also thinks the cameraman pull this own focus on hand held shots on music videos of this production quality ;)
to pivot from kendrick (even tho i could watch an entire series on his vids), im shocked i don't see a lot of requests for Sicko Mode by travis scott. one of the craziest videos of the decade bar none.
the ELEMENT music video is also next level (might be kendrick's best mv), you should for sure check it out too
facts The photo homage to Godon Parks is crazy
fr
It’s certainly the best cinematography of any K Dot video imo
Alright,
Element & count me out are his best imo
That Music video will melt his brain if he has this much good to say about Alright
You really NEED to react to ‘count me out’, that music video is pure art
To pimp a Butterfly is such an incredible album. I wish more people were familiar with it.
Great reaction vid!
Bro its one of the most widely acclaimed albums of all time
@@tejas.a06im sayin 😭

Love when people actually know how to react like this guy, great video
Lets go more kendrick reactions bro 🙏🏻🐐

@@jssikc Thx im learning and trying to improve
Kendrick Lamar - N95; Element; DNA; Count Me Out - sublime music videos you should also react to ;)
Count Me Out is the one I MUST see him react too.
Family ties is a classic too
_Count Me Out_ is such a great video
Element has staggering imagery too.
I'd toss in Rich Spirit. I think he'll enjoy some of the connections with the other MMATBS videos.
Kendrick is next level artist whole round, sonically and visually

Dude, glad I found this. I’m a camera operator and I used to work in post. I’m also a huge Kendrick fan. Definitely looking forward to more reactions!
16:09 Bro that cup tripped me out 😂
ELEMENT is definitely the next music video you need to react to by Kendrick Lamar
Yooo i reccomended this on the humble reaction, sick
16:19 My mother was a photographer, and was giving that mug for her birthday. My first video here. So glad that I found you. Looking forward to more. Love your genuine reaction and in-depth explanations. New sub!

What’s hot now? Doechii’s Denial is a River.
Shoutout from England. Pharrell Williams produced this song and is on the chorus, Kendrick's music is generational, incredible artist, love the reaction/breakdown!
Would love an extended version of this
Maybe you heard it at the end of the Black Panther 2 trailer? The music for that trailer moves from No Woman, No Cry to Alright. 10:42
No need for saying sorry when pausing. Great break down ❤
Please do Doechii denial is a river ❤ she just dropped the mv yesterday and it's really cool and fun
Try N95 on Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers, it’s pretty cool

YESSSSS! i waited for this!
I had a lot of casual Kendrick listening friends. Once I showed TWO videos, they became fanboys immediately.
The sliding is a terminology meaning to attack you opponent. So he brought it to a visual aspect and used it as an Easter egg 😁
love you ❤ thanks for the great reaction
kendrick really deserved his pulitzer. But also big props to dave meyers for being the person to get me interested in the cinematography of music videos.
If you heard it before it might be from his performance at the superbowl. Also count me out is phenominal and deserves a reaction 🙏
One of the best albums ever made imo
this video IS 100! as others have asked, please review more of his videos..., great review...!
I was ready for some grifting reaction slop but man I’m so glad you actually know what you’re talking about and taught me something. A+
If you’re interested in a dissection of the lyrics, the Dissect Podcast is a good start. Each song is a compact episode, and they do a great job. Alright is Season 1, Episode 9
You absolutely have to react to more of Kendrick's music videos, Element for example is a master piece

"Loyalty" ft. Rihanna
"DNA"

The car scene was a ode to Busta Rhymes video /song “Everything Remains Raw”
I love this reaction video, I am glad I found you. New Fan Here :)
The police carrying the car like a coffin, the guy in the back pouring one out for the dead homie
Kendrick is an all around artist and I don't want to take you away from his journey. Snoop and Dr. Dre released a short movie called Missionary. Effects are awesome and it's shot very well.
I would loooove to see your reaction to We Cry Together. It's filmed to look like a single shot and it's crazy intense

Good read! 💯 agree
N95 and Rich Spirit are also amazing videos. Rich Spirit is actually just him in the video.

Gotta do God is Gangsta too, a mixture of 2 songs from the album but the music video is great!
Another 🔥🔥🔥video is Element, also from his album DAMN. Similar to his Alright music video, filled with symbolism and powerful messages from where he came from, Compton.

Element might be the best music video he has.

Imagine a collab with this guy and Knox hill, that soul be legendary
Do check out ELEMENT, and N95 as well. For me, these gotta be one the best MVs by Kendrick
I would give anything to watch this music video for the first time again. You should watch the Family Ties music video next
Till this day I'm waiting for that "on the dead homies freestyle"
the camera man is not dong the focus, the 1st assistant (akafocus puller) is... the most unsung of heroes ... proven right here by a video editor that also thinks the cameraman pull this own focus on hand held shots on music videos of this production quality ;)

I would love to see an extended version
DNA🗣️🗣️
to pivot from kendrick (even tho i could watch an entire series on his vids), im shocked i don't see a lot of requests for Sicko Mode by travis scott. one of the craziest videos of the decade bar none.

I think u gonna like sweatpants by childish gambino, who dat boy by Tyler the creator, and the heart part 5 by Kendrick Lamar i guess 😅
I feel completely vindicated thinking all these years thinking Kendrick was clearly separated from his peers.
Check out N95 too, Count Me Out is also really good
You should react to All The Stars video he did with the amazing SZA🔥🔥🔥 from the Black Panther soundtrack.
next reaction has to be count me out music video
I need the breakdown!!!!
Id recommend the Love music video
Great video, you should react to family ties by him and his cousin Baby Keem. That video goes so hard 🔥
Issues would be a good one
PLEASE Count Me Out Music Video
You need to react to DNA by him 🔥🔥🔥
You should do the King's Dead music video
King Kunta. i. Two tracks to look into. Also, the car sliding made the smoke in the beginning of the video.
