- The 1980’s and early 90’s were the golden era of Motorsport for me. So many unique cars and engines with the most massive turbos, all sounding glorious. Not to mention, the awesome liveries and body shapes! Unfortunately, this series had to be cancelled as the costs to run a Group C machine managed to supersede the costs of a Formula One. We may not have seen these guys race ever again... So, let’s reunite these old friends on the Circuit de la Sarthe once more! Seriously, this battle was by far one of my all time favourites to watch! You will see why ;)

Group C is by far my favorite era, cars were so damn beautiful.
Group C and the first LMP1 cars like the Toyota TS020 GTOne
4 of those group C cars were the actual winners of 24 hour Le Mans in different years
Jaguar (1988)
Sauber Mercedes (1989 and 1990)
Mazda 787B (1991) 1st japanese car and the only winner that was powered by rotary engine
Peugeot 905 (1992-1993)
I'm sure that the Jaguars won in 1990 as well
Australian Group C Touring Cars were just as awesome.
For anyone asking about the Nissan R89C, I did not include it as there is already a Nissan included in this race and I wanted to give all the different manufacturers a turn to prove themselves. I have nothing against the R89C, if I could, I would add it for sure if GT4 supported a 7 car grid

That stealth R92CP was a nightmare to drive, until I realised giving it the ‘Body refresher plan’ which makes the chassis much more stable. It turned out to be a monster once I fixed it!

I did the 24h of Le mans with Peugeot 905 on GT4 with a friend couple of years ago....
After 318 Laps we were so satisfied ... words cant imagine

it's weird how:
Fastest Group C in GT4: R92CP
Fastest Group C in GT5: Minolta
Fastest Group C in GT6: 905
I'd say the Minolta was the fastest in GT4 as well, R92 can be pretty unstable whereas the Minolta is 50kg less and has a very helpful 6th gear. Having said that I'm so glad the 905 got buffed in gt6!
@@night2vyife The 88cv may be fast but it's not the best race car. The Audi R8, Courage, 787B, and Sauber C9 all get way better fuel economy and tire life and will overwhelm the Toyota and Nissans in many longer races. It's odd though that the 88cv ended up so fast in GT4 and 5 when in reality it wasn't the fastest car in any race nor ever even scored a podium finish. I pin that as an error or the that something about the specs of the car plugged well for over all speed in GT4. The same types of oddities are found in GT1 with the broken op'd performance of the Copperhead Concept LM, the broken physics of the Escudo in GT2, the R390 being too good in GT3(maybe that was on purpose by PD) etc.

I've just realised that Peugeot car looks too far ahead of its time for a Group C racer.
Might even can do the 03 Le Mans against the Bentley Speed 8
Mainly cause it wasn’t really a group C but group C 3.5 which the car had an F1 engine
I like all prototypes but I prefer the Sauber C9 among them all

How did he make this race all Group C cars? Everytime I select a Group C car, the Audi R8 LM Race Car and Bentley Speed 8 joins in everytime.
You can make custom races on gt4 now with emulators and cheat engine, there’s tutorials on TH-cam too

I drove the minolta exclusively as it was a prize car for winning one of the series. But I always wanted the Sauber. It was never for sale in gt4, how do you acquire it?
Unfortunately you gotta do the formula gt championship in extreme events which is quite the pain

The one thing I never got about this game was that the Sauber C8 sounds completely wrong. Needs the Ford GT40 sound file honeslty

In the early to mid 90's the group C class was getting even more expensive to develop which is why it came to an end, as for the source it was on a youtube video that I can't remember so sorry about that :(

I've heard (but can't remeber where) that R18 E-tron quattro 2012 costs 20,000,000 dollars to build, and the 2014 model 30,000,000.
But modern F1 hybrid from 8-10 million.
If that's true, then why not cancel endurance racing 🧐 Just shows how stupid cancelling group c was.

bro i just didnt like the video bc no R89C BRUHHHHH WHY THATS MY FAVOURITE GROUP C CAR! You just didnt race with it bc you dont have it haha its hard to get its on a special mission i think i dont play gt4 like 3 years but i will play again! I got everything and like 500b credits lol i was vicious on gt4 2016-2020 i played it for 4 years man
3 fastest Group cars are Minolta R92 and Sauber even the they have similar top speeds from 232 or 231. For example the R92 is fastest top speed to 233 to 232 mph while Sauber is from 232 and sometimes 233 mph when going on a long enough straight. The Minolta goes from 232 to 231 mph and it doesn't really reach the speeds like Suaber or R92. Handling is great with the Minolta I dont reccomend R92 with handling since its handling is bad The Sauber is between Minolta with great handling and R92 for top speeds however the R92s acceleration is the worst out of the 3. And the Minolta has the worst tires beacuse it wears out fast.
Now for the slowest onees 787b is totally the best although it doesnt has a high top speed it has the best acceleration
