I often forget how fortunate I was to be trained to ride in the Military Police. We learned properly; both on and off road skills. You did fine; good on you for getting the training and experience and not thinking you know it all. I would have taken the water crossings standing up on the pegs and perhaps a bit slower to avoid the bow wave. I would also respectfully suggest you rev higher; drop down a gear on those muddy corners (9:59 on) and have it revving higher and more in the zone for a pull out. Bikes are different to cars and you should keep the revs up, or so I was taught. I checked out the Royal Enfield offerings and can see why you chose the Himalayan. It would be my choice, too, for the kind of riding you're doing. I did miss the Num Nums!
Thanks Perry, I was definitely feeling the fatigue after a long day of off-road riding in challenging conditions and it really shows in some of the sloppy riding.
@@motonumnum neither of us are as spry as we once were and riding is tiring.Any riding requires a lot more focus and concentration and with dirt roads, wet weather and river crossings it does take its toll. But bring back the Num Num. I mean that BLAT was a work of art!
Thanks a lot! You really give me confidence in that bike and a good thinking driver! Since january I call a RE Himaliyan (2021) my own. I gave the rest of my money and bought it for my 60th birthday. Fullfilling a dream of my youth, when I drive a BMW 600 Policebike... it is not easy to refresh that old experience in new driving technique, but I am hopefully, that I will go to a Africa-Tour with my "Rosinante" end of the year! By the way, you people in Downunder have a strange method for cleaning a bike... first under with water, than upper with rain... 😊 but it seems you like it! Will follow you! 😀🤗🦋🌻😎
Thanks so much for the comment and the sub! Yes, we do things a little differently here sometimes haha. Hope your adventures with Rosinante are happy and challenging ones
It was a group ride so all I did was follow the leader and didn't look at my map haha! It was a fun couple of days. This was from the second day and we left Gloucester and did a loop to the northeast and back into Gloucester, don't know the exact route but you'll get the gist. The day before we went from Taree, up to Ellenborough, Dingo Tops and into Gloucester. It was a ride with Alex and Shane Cudlin from Aussie Bike or Hike. I think they were planning to do another one of these rides later in the year.
Thanks for the feedback Oscar! Yes, the Himalayan is great for the back roads. It seems to be happiest at about 80-90 km/h when on paved roads, of course it can also handle the 110km/h highway as well (but I don't like it 😆). I have a 'Virtual Test Ride' video if you haven't already seen it, trying to show how it is on a variety of roads. Cheers mate!
Hi Spidey, we don't get the Yezdi here in Australia so I haven't tried one. I hadn't even heard of the brand so I looked it up here on TH-cam for some reviews. They're a nice looking bike and have some good points, I'll stick with the Himalayan though. When I was purchasing, my short list came down to the Himalayan and the Meteor. I thought it best to go with the Himalayan because it is an all-rounder (apart from long days highway cruising) and I'd end up needing an adventure bike to do the riding I wanted to do. I've fitted a stage 2 DNA air filter and that has made a big difference on the road. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment! Happy trails :-)
Absolutely amazing! You do with your Himalayan what most of us just dream of doing. Love this video! Hope you don't mind if I share this one. Wahoo!
Thanks Fuzzy Biker! I could say the same about you 😁
There’s mods for the air box on YT worth looking into. Also check water hasn’t entered engine oil via breather

Cool! What road was the river crossings on? I can't say I've been ridding around there. Cheers 👍

That’s funny I really want a Himalayan but currently have an XR-AG 190 then the first guy in the group has the same one and the same jacket

I gave you a thumbs up because you put a smile on my face
Thanks very much Patrick - that's the goal!
Thanks for this videos!
Thanks for watching Leonardo 😊
Great video and nice scenery! Hows Himalayan doing on the Aussie backroads? Like 80 to 100 km zone.

@@motonumnum Cheers mate! Those back roads are much much better than the highway hey. Will definitely look into it!
Good Content
Thank you for watching Sachin. There's more coming, we've been struck by storms and flooding so just waiting for the weather to clear. Cheers!
@@motonumnum Looking forward to the new content. I wish you well and travel safe..
Which bike will you prefer for on road and off-road ( Yezdi adventure or Royal Enfield Himalayan)
