Kalyptico pretty much what I was looking for too. Most walkthrough players are so thick and dumb that it frustrates me to watch them. At least this guy went to school before gaming lol.
Brewery base is fantastic. I run 5 hydroponic gardens with compost mods, seed-boosted, producing 30 food per day (7.5 per hydro). 8 survivors eating 1 food each, but when rationed eating 0.5 each (so a net + of 26 food per day). meaning I can use my distilleries to make alcohol, and a hell of a lot of it. Trading post & field hostpial for large slots. I call in traders, sell my batches, then buy literally whatever I need. I use outposts for beds, and heroes give beds too sometimes. Think I've broken the game... haha.
Now I produce 42 food per day (5 boosted hydroponics + large farm + trade outpost) and eat 8 when not rationing and 4 when rationing. I make 1,500 influence per day, or 1,700 including the trade depot income. This means I can buy whatever other resources I might need (materials/fuel etc.) and have loasd of influence left over to buy whatever I want. It's not about needing all the food, it's about convering it to money to be financially free. Thank you Tony Robins, Tim Ferriss, etc.
It's massive fun running an entrepreneurial empire in the zombie apocalypse haha! I leave my game afk whilst it farms batches, but be careful... lost a leader doing that to a bloat hah!

one thing you forgot to mention is that whitney field has a special facility no other base has.. and that is the announcers box which allows you to spawn hordes to your base on purpose (can be used to gain quite a bit of influence as it will also spawn juggernauts and ferals ect) you might ask why you would do this... well after that spawned attack you will be free of all sieges for 1 hour and 30 mins as it drops your siege risk to basically nothing for the entire duration.. making it the safest of all the bases as long as you survive that one attack you are completely attack free for a long time... its one of the more interesting bases IMO and one of the best largest bases for that reason... and if the bleachers actually worked as they were supposed to and people used them during sieges it would also be easily defended... sadly however they do not.

Thank you, great video and a lot of help so not to waste fuel and weapons just to look at/for these bases. Also, you should consider becoming an Apocalypse Real Estate Agent. You would be able to sell some of those places even after the world has ended.
one thing to mention about the Mazzara Farm location that makes it one of the better spots is the "fertile soil" buff for garden/farm for producing a lot more food per day, I believe it's +4
Wow that last base that Turtle shows that he likes, I like to. I hope in the future they let us do options to where we may be able to build on the bases other cool stuff or like mods. That base could be huge and hold a lot of survivors!!! My imagination is running wild :-)
You don't really need to build beds, some heroes have a trait that +2 beds, there is also a normal trait that gives +1 bed. In my current game, I have 3 heroes that give +9 to beds. Also, bases like baseball field are useless cause their built-in defensive structures are not working, in fact, every defensive structure like watchtower or sniper tower does not work right now
I think that's the only base out of the 21 bases where watchtower is working, seems like a pathing issue, hope they fix this asap, cause right now my base is littered with corposes

Just wondering you ever try blocking entrances to a base with cars? Never seen anyone do that for this game. But to me it would make since so you don't get hit from all sides.
The Mazarra farm is constantly under attack ... all the time, even without infestations around. Tried placing vehicles but they jump over the walls, when one of my survivors wants to tell me a story they never finish it because of the constant intrusions. I love that base though.

I might check out the camp ground. They got lots of beds and what not. I got 6 people so far. But i'll probably take over the camp ground today. Also since I don't have a trader the brewery is so so. Also to many doorways in the fence line at the brewery. I used three cars to barricade a few door ways. Also brewery seems to be high traffic for juggernauts. I'd stay at the brewery if I could of recruited a trader. But so far that's no dice.
GRAW2ROBZ Same story pretty much, i've encountered 4 juggernauts in 3-4 hours, and a load of bloaters, the base is good for a warlord which i use, i think you need a armory in the brewery, seeing how loud the base is even with only 2 or 3 passives running, the amount of ammo you need to defend the base makes up for the armory.
Have to agree. I blocked all doors with cars and low walls apart from the one at the parking spots. Run 3 farms(beds in outposts) with a mix of meds and food. Make booze and strong painkillers for unlimited influence. Don't even need to leave the base and it's basically indestructible.

In State of Decay 2 are the maps randomly generated? The TH-camr Cartoonz has an amazing map I want to play in so it would suck if the maps are random. 2. 😲 DO YOU HAVE A SLEDGEHAMMER?! HOW'D YOU GET THAT?!
There are 3 maps it's random which one you start on, but if you get a level 2 command centre you can move to the the other maps, and with weapons you just find them around the map with luck as they are randomly spawned.

Do you know where the claim flag is located in camp Helenqua? I'm looking for it now and it's been almost an hour and I can't find it. And I had to get rid of wave of zombies almost 4 times. I've looked in every room but for some reason I can't claim the base. And nobody is there.
Hey I have a question how do u make your food resources go up? I have 10 characters so -10 food a day but I have 2 hydroponics and a garden 3 so it’s +5 food/day but it doesn’t go up? Am I doing something wrong ?

The police station seems good but you get a negative for moral because of the cells just like if you build beds outside. I have nearly 1500 influence about 5 days of survival and I actually have a happy settlement in the beginner house, however, I want to move but can decide where which is why I'm watching. Looks like the village is for me.
The baseball field is in the top 3 best bases in the game anyway and if your community struggles against zombies sieges place cars you don’t use or want around most entrances/exits but keep at least 2 gates and if you have land mines etc place them down behind your gate so if a zombie horde comes by they’ll blow up and equip a few members on the fortified bleachers with rifles and suppressers and you won’t even have to worry about your base also if you have a lot of zombies in the area and you can’t get anywhere really without them chasing you use the announcer box and draw them in and your community will wipe the floor with them once you followed the instructions before and then enjoy your state of decay 2 adventures 😎
You Dope I wouldn’t think so because of the beds. Outside beds decrease moral. I’d say the camp because the seclusion or the police station because how many slots there are.
I have to say the baseball field is a death trap. I build on it last night, have 8 survivors all top notch and full upgraded. Base gets attacked non stop, already lost one of my guys because of it. Yes, by non stop I mean non stop. The threat level is always high but even when not in a siege zombies won't stop spawning inside it.
rossato i think it actually depends... the area with the highest concentration of zombies is random across the map for everyone... for me the campgrounds were completely overrun with nonstop waves of zombies endlessly roaming into the base... noone died but it was relentless nonstop attacks... i moved into the baseball field and the area was mostly empty of attacks and especially after i used the baseball fields special ability to call in a horde and play white noise the siege risk dropped to none... even with a fully built up base it had a siege risk of none cus of the baseball fields abilities... yes you do have to face a wave of zombies... but after that you are free of all zombie attacks for 1 hour and 30 mins afterwords... of course youll still get stray zombies roaming around and some might follow your car back to the base.. but nothing significant.. and if the bleachers actually worked as watch towers (and watch towers worked at all and people actually manned them... which they dont) then the baseball field would actually be pretty secure... which it has to be with the ability to force zombies to attack it...
camp site has actually more then 6 build-in beds but they get 'active' if you build something in the indoor small slots of those cabins, so you got 8 or 10 build-in beds & the police station i personally don't really like as the armory can't be upgraded or modded and only can craft 2 sets of ammo & flashbang + smoke grenade
Squelones Brewery is the best base by far. It actually has 2 large slots 5 small. Already included is 2 stills, command center, tasting room generally speaking. Lol. For real though, I don’t even want to move to Whitney field because my morale is really high and I have 9 community members.
I hate the fact that several of the spots have to be turned into beds just to support the survivors though, you instantly lose 2 of the small slots that could be used.
I’m a huge fan of the first SoD so that’s why I find this game lacking in so many ways. The only real improvement is the base building and vehicle modifications. There is no storyline/campaign (eliminating plague hearts does not count, it’s a side mission at best). They had three years to come up with something and yet they give us the same layout on a new engine, with even less story and substance. Oh but they added Lilly Ritter who says meaningless shit over the radio every once in a while.
my favorite is the baseball field.... cus i play as a trader and i want to be attacked... i profit off plague cure so the ability to force a siege on my base is nice to have... its also one of 2 bases that have 3 large slots... i like this because i can have a farm my trade depot and the staging area (no more material cost) in those large slots... this makes my base completely self sustaining in every resource except ammo but since im a trader i can just sell plague cure/whiskey to buy ammo as i need it... everything else is in the positive.
Baseball field by far is the best. High walls that they can’t get over. The bleachers act as a watch tower in a way. You can use th 3 large slots to basically become self sustaining. But if you can’t afford it or are only moving for the first time? The brewing company is really solid.
I was at the camp , I managed to block some openings with cars I found, it's a pain in the ass zombies always get in I also built a sniper tower to help but it's more of a chore I'm thinking about moving lol
I dont get why whitney field is so expensive? It's much worse than the camp in all aspects? The Camp has water supply built in, a kitchen, 8 beds and three small slots and two big The trade off with one extra large slot instead of a small is simly not worth it seeing as there is no water supply built in. Simly do not get the price for it, should have another big and another small slot
On the food storage, yeah, a massive 75 food. Doubles as a "decent" watch tower on top that only you could man as the elevated position is not considered by the other survivors. Could be good for trading, never got ovet 20-30 food in the original game.
Dang it though, I was looking all over for the brewry local. Only to find that it's right up the hill from where I settled at the Farm as a "mid-tier" base. Well I was low on meds and food so maybe I can stockpile them both before moving again.
You only have to pick from those pairs and do that linear intro/tutorial the first time you play, after that you can choose whatever survivors you want when you start a new community. Start a new game, skip the tutorial and it brings you to a screen where you get to choose three survivors and you can cycle through each survivor as many times as you want until you like who you have. So you can start a new community with three survivors in hoodies if you want, that is what I did.
what if you play on a map and a enclave moved into the container fort. and i do not get the option to treathen em. and i can use there locker and such. how do i take over that home place?
Um this might be a silly question but how do you get people to actually get into the watch towers? I've equipped my guys with rifles but I can't seem to get anyone to actually man the post.

Oddly enough the AI will use the massive fuel storage some of the bases come with as a defensive structure

Brewery with a trader leader is the best base because you can basically buy anything you want. You have to know what your doing though

It's also really easy to defend with a car over each entrance apart from front.
I don't think it's an optimal setup but i had a sniper tower, workbench, infirmary, hydroponic farm and large farm.

Yes, by non stop I mean non stop. The threat level is always high but even when not in a siege zombies won't stop spawning inside it.
rossato i think it actually depends... the area with the highest concentration of zombies is random across the map for everyone... for me the campgrounds were completely overrun with nonstop waves of zombies endlessly roaming into the base... noone died but it was relentless nonstop attacks...
i moved into the baseball field and the area was mostly empty of attacks and especially after i used the baseball fields special ability to call in a horde and play white noise the siege risk dropped to none... even with a fully built up base it had a siege risk of none cus of the baseball fields abilities...
yes you do have to face a wave of zombies... but after that you are free of all zombie attacks for 1 hour and 30 mins afterwords... of course youll still get stray zombies roaming around and some might follow your car back to the base.. but nothing significant.. and if the bleachers actually worked as watch towers (and watch towers worked at all and people actually manned them... which they dont) then the baseball field would actually be pretty secure... which it has to be with the ability to force zombies to attack it...
camp site has actually more then 6 build-in beds but they get 'active' if you build something in the indoor small slots of those cabins, so you got 8 or 10 build-in beds & the police station i personally don't really like as the armory can't be upgraded or modded and only can craft 2 sets of ammo & flashbang + smoke grenade
Those extra beds aren't registered, I've used it for ages and not once has it gone and counted the extra beds.
just checked & you are right, only 6, didn't knew my workshop provided 2 extra beds

I took the mazzara farm until I have more then enough to take the baseball field base
Squelones Brewery is the best base by far. It actually has 2 large slots 5 small. Already included is 2 stills, command center, tasting room generally speaking. Lol. For real though, I don’t even want to move to Whitney field because my morale is really high and I have 9 community members.
I hate the fact that several of the spots have to be turned into beds just to support the survivors though, you instantly lose 2 of the small slots that could be used.

I’m a huge fan of the first SoD so that’s why I find this game lacking in so many ways. The only real improvement is the base building and vehicle modifications. There is no storyline/campaign (eliminating plague hearts does not count, it’s a side mission at best). They had three years to come up with something and yet they give us the same layout on a new engine, with even less story and substance. Oh but they added Lilly Ritter who says meaningless shit over the radio every once in a while.
So which base would you guys say is the best? Im new to state of decay so any tips?

my favorite is the baseball field.... cus i play as a trader and i want to be attacked... i profit off plague cure so the ability to force a siege on my base is nice to have... its also one of 2 bases that have 3 large slots...
i like this because i can have a farm my trade depot and the staging area (no more material cost) in those large slots...
this makes my base completely self sustaining in every resource except ammo but since im a trader i can just sell plague cure/whiskey to buy ammo as i need it... everything else is in the positive.
Baseball field by far is the best. High walls that they can’t get over. The bleachers act as a watch tower in a way. You can use th 3 large slots to basically become self sustaining. But if you can’t afford it or are only moving for the first time? The brewing company is really solid.
I was at the camp , I managed to block some openings with cars I found, it's a pain in the ass zombies always get in I also built a sniper tower to help but it's more of a chore I'm thinking about moving lol
I dont get why whitney field is so expensive? It's much worse than the camp in all aspects? The Camp has water supply built in, a kitchen, 8 beds and three small slots and two big
The trade off with one extra large slot instead of a small is simly not worth it seeing as there is no water supply built in. Simly do not get the price for it, should have another big and another small slot
The reason why it has so much influence is because it is the *BEST* base in meagher

On the food storage, yeah, a massive 75 food. Doubles as a "decent" watch tower on top that only you could man as the elevated position is not considered by the other survivors. Could be good for trading, never got ovet 20-30 food in the original game.
Dang it though, I was looking all over for the brewry local. Only to find that it's right up the hill from where I settled at the Farm as a "mid-tier" base. Well I was low on meds and food so maybe I can stockpile them both before moving again.

You only have to pick from those pairs and do that linear intro/tutorial the first time you play, after that you can choose whatever survivors you want when you start a new community. Start a new game, skip the tutorial and it brings you to a screen where you get to choose three survivors and you can cycle through each survivor as many times as you want until you like who you have. So you can start a new community with three survivors in hoodies if you want, that is what I did.

what if you play on a map and a enclave moved into the container fort. and i do not get the option to treathen em. and i can use there locker and such. how do i take over that home place?

Um this might be a silly question but how do you get people to actually get into the watch towers? I've equipped my guys with rifles but I can't seem to get anyone to actually man the post.
