This is a great idea but i would say for testing fresh components and doing bios updates before installing into the case. Agree keep psu at base if standing up as looked weak in stream. By locking down mb, psu gpu its safer than using box especially for rotating and moving to access ports, connect to monitor. Great idea for checking and good price. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath and thanks to Bob and Aurali too! 🐈👍
Great video Mike once again and a useful and versatile product to boot 🥾😇🥳 It’s great to see these coming in at a more consumer friendly price 💪👍😇! I have the Streacom Open Benchtable version and got it for a vg price about 8yrs ago and it’s still going strong 💪. The fact this unit shown here in video comes with a power switch imo is a vg thing as mine open bench unit doesn’t feature one and is weighty 🤯. For pc tinkerers and hobbiests and the family & friends IT support these open bench table are invaluable and make life easier.
Hi, Mike. Interesting little test bench you got there. While watching the video, I got the idea of going down to the hardware store (after my second knee heals) and buying some sheet metal to build and open-air case for my Intel build. It's mainly going to be for playing movies and shows from TH-cam, Hulu, and Peacock. As well as streaming music from Pandora, or mp3s. I'll build it for wall mounting and include a couple radiators for fun. Sounds like a fun project. The physical therapist will be here tomorrow to torture me... I mean make my knee bend a little more. I'll do my best not to cry. LOL
hope you feel better soon! manyt years ago i mounted a AMD FX system to the side of a bedroom cabinet / storage unit for use as a media centre :-) what was i thinking
I have a basic cheap test bench I purchased from Amazon but this one does look a lot better and is more functional, it seems it's out of stock on Amazon currently but if it is usually £30-£40 then I would be very tempted to get it
I do like the idea, I don't think my Eatx board would fit.. Would prefer the steel to be a of a heavier grade.. Other than that it's great open test bench. Great instructional video, Thanks..
I thought I wanted an open-air case like this one. It looks nice. I tend to put things on top of my tower case, so instead I have a modern case that I use without the front bezel or sides. I still have those covers, but they are kept in the original shipping box. ;D
Fantastic video! Love the detail in your instructions. I have heard that the holes might not be aligned correctly for a mATX board, can you confirm. Again, such excellent detailed assembly instructions resulted in my subscribing to your channel!
Mike, this video came at the right time since I received mine from Amazon US. Now to get busy and build it thanks to your help. Take care all. Cheers
Glad I could help hope you like it Rick

yes it is a pretty cool crossover from a testbench to a fully functional open frame PC

This is perfect for a TH-camr 👍
certainly is! used it again today for some bios flash stuff
Looks great, I need to invest in one of those open benches, so can test used components quickly.
It is a pretty cool bit of kit and handy for many uses

hopefully it comes back in stock soon, and maybe cheaper?

Fair enough! thanks for watching and commenting

I don't see any need to have anything different to this tbh. OK you might want a adaptor to hold an aio but this easily fits the bill. Cheers
yeah it covers pretty much all the bases here for a reasonable price

should be okay if you move the pillars, but i actually haven't tried it with a MATX board yet and don't have one here to quickly test and confirm
