Only problem with your videos is every time after intro you proceeds to explain the TH-cam algorithm which is definitely not why I clicked this video. You need to give value first to make the viewer wanna watch this, Then you can Explain later. New viewers are not gonna wait to watch what they want. You need to make them wanna watch

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my TH-cam channel 4 months ago. Now I have 288 subscribers and a few hundred hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn't have learned without getting started in the 1st place.

Because you simply choose the field that is not very popular or has high views. Look at other channels and see which field has a large audience and try to make videos for this audience.

The shorts algo is wild. It will reward a video with millions of views, then with 80% view rate and 100+% retention it just tanks it. Makes absolutely no sense.

Great video. Shorts are getting really popular now. People don't have attention span for anything longer, so I am recently trying to create expressive content (and after I post it, I use a lot of Famester to help me make them go viral. It is really good for increasing social media presence, especially on brand new channels, accounts, etc...)

I have watched every minute of this video 5 times over the last week, and I still feel like I learn something new every time I watch it! I say cheers to you kind sir 🍻👏 Just started last week and your channel has been very helpful. From niches to early youtuber tips it's all been mint. I got 3k+ views on one of my music videos within the first week of posting just because of a catchy topic that hadn't been probed yet!
Really inspiring video man. I have been doing TH-cam Shorts last six months, and what helped me the most was that I found out you could give all your videos (even the long ones) the initial dose of views and likes (I am mostly using a little bit of famester for this, just because of the fact I never had any problems with it. Really great service imo). This way it also feels like you are one step ahead of the algorithm, which is honestly amazing to me.
Is this paying for views right when you post to boost the algorithm?
Buying views is a bad idea. It contradicts the info of this video that the algorithm has to find your audience. By buying views you don't boost the algo - you confuse it.

It's a shame the algorithm is so slow at learning it takes over 5 months to find the right audience. Surely with tech these days it can do it faster than almost half a year that is glacially slow. Great video buddy.

I have a Shorts channel about Reddit 60k subs and 37M views, and when I check
Channels your audience watches I expect to see other Reddit channels. But there are always irrelevant audiences.
On the other hand, I have a Reddit channel with long-form content and there are always relevant audiences who watch others Reddit channels.
I’ve noticed that with my shorts channel as well

I've been doing this channel for a bit over 3 1/2 months now. I have more than 300 videos - good quality - great reception - good performance. From them I have around 1.5 million views. Generally tho, my videos will stop getting views around 8,000-13,000. It's been discouraging. I hope to get monetized someday but with my views stopping about there, it feels impossible. Now, I don't mean the views stop completely...they slowly keep getting views but not as much outside of the first week or so.
I need to be patient. Thanks for showing this. It's been tiring. My videos aren't AI made and I put a lot of effort into each one...and it seems like an impossible task to try and hit that 3,000,000 view benchmark for monetization. I'll keep going but scale back a little so I don't get burned out and hope that the algo will circle back to some of my videos for a nice push. Fingers crossed.

Send it to a few friends who are interested in the topic. Or a group chat/Discord etc. Gets the ball rolling x

Sometimes we lose our mindset... definitely getting focused and having good content... is the best thing to do. Its like no one wants to watch late night TV when its all commercials and bad shows.

Also yesterday short had some good numbers today and likes and then it slowed down and only dislikes came in. :D Seems like youtube found the wrong group and decided to leave it there instead of returning to the group that liked it.
Ofcourse youtube could return there but from my experience it is just gonna die.
Even tho the retention is 105% and 50% played.

Marcus, I’m struggling to understand the moment where you explain the algorithm because I did 2 shorts a day and I got my first 1k viewers on shorts for animals being rescued 1/2 days ago and it got its first 1k+ views on both in 4hours, I did the same edits but with a different rescue in the same context and it’s been up for over 11hours now and got 5-14views so I don’t understand how it works to get that pop of views, I understand it takes time but I just struggle to understand it 😅
The algorithm decides when and if your video hits the shelf. We have seen some take days or weeks before doing anything.

Niche... whats my niche? 18 years on TH-cam (no joke), 1000+ videos later (on this one channel alone), and 11k+ subs later, I still don't know my niche. I know there's something here, but how do I narrow down what the niche is?

If your video applies to everyone, then that's great. It'll just get sent to all audiences and get positive signals from all of them (assuming it's good)
Been growing my TH-cam channel working hard every week for the last 6 months. Just hit 200 subscribers! I also recently got a new microphone and really have been trying to bring up the quality. I ask my viewers to leave recommendations, and thoughts in the comments, but very rarely they do!

Not to let anyone down, but people need to pay attention to another metric called "unique views". Not every view comes from a different person. If you get a lot of unique views close to the normal views, that means those people kept coming back to that video because they really enjoyed it, but it also means not many new viewers have seen it.
How does that let anyone down?
Is your coaching program also for people over 1000 subs? And is it only for gaming channel?
