  • I have never used this machine and wanted to make a video of an unboxing, setup and printing with the BN-20 from a "regular guy" perspective. Well, not completely regular, I am familiar with the 4 color printing process or CMYK and proficient with Illustrator. Those two things really help for 1st time users. If you think this will be as easy as a Cricut you are in for a surprise. I have about 20+ years as both a professional and freelance graphic designer so I can already create or manipulate image files pretty well.
    Music Used: Stardust - JayJan & The Island - tubetrackr
    I purchased my BN-20 from Coldesi.com as well as a roll of white and clear 20" vinyl

    On the yard signs, did it hold up in the outdoor weather? I saw where a lot of people said that you have to laminate it.

    In illustrator, use the "paste in front" instead of paste and you won't have to align your cut lines manually 😎

    Quick question what settings did you use for the perforation cut to pop out like that, any info would be great! Thank You! ☺️

    • @zumografx
      @zumografx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The perforation links I adjust based on the size of the sticker but I think a good rule of thumb is the less perforation the better. So for like a 3 inch sticker I would set my preparation length probably at 2 inches, the force at 160 , half cut length at .015 with the half cut force left at 1

    Very, very slow running printing and cutting process. I am curious, how long that printing and cutting takes in order to produce one order in few pieces?

    • @kellytuten3369
      @kellytuten3369 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not the fastest printer and cutter but its much faster than what he had it set to. there is an adjustment you can make to speed up the cutting time. I hope this helps a little'

    Can this technically use a carrier sheet? Rather than print test patterns on rolls, I want to do it on regular paper held in place by a carrier sheet as not to waste my material.

    • @zumografx
      @zumografx  ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably could do that, but I don’t know if the ink would do well on the paper. Because it is like a solvent, it’s very wet when it comes out in the paper may absorb it, and kind of caused it to spread out or something not really sure

    • @zumografx
      @zumografx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Word of mouth and friends. You have to market yourself and let people know you have the capabilities to print these types of materials. You have have to bee your own salesman. Facebook marketplace is another good option, make a few products and list them forsale. Post an add on there saying you can do custom work. Setup a web site, instagram page and or TikTok page.

    2 hours to print two 18x24 signs? That seems incredibly slow. What was the DPI?
    Why not just cut vinyl on your other cutter? If that small text was too small to weed you might have edited the design. Or with 7 signs to make (14 sides) screen print.
    I was considering getting a BN-20 but not if they're that slow.

    • @zumografx
      @zumografx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it’s 34min each on best quality or 12 min on draft. The BN20 has the highest print resolution of the ecosolvent printers but the lowest price. Yes it’s slow but produces 1440 dpi prints.
