When you arrive in the country, you must leave a tip of at least 10 dollars to the shopkeepers, this is a sign of respect, and those who do not are considered very rude
Curious fact, the fes, or fez like it’s called in Italy, is the official hat of the Bersaglieri unit in the army for the fatigue uniform ( not the same fes as described in the video but a version with soft fabric)

None of these laws are crazy. It is especially prohibited to insult Ataturk. Ataturk literally saved Turkey from collapse and destruction. In theory, Turkey's history may offend other countries, but why should the Turks tolerate them, even if the Turks themselves are wrong on many issues? Neither Prohibition nor the law to protect the flag or the country's national heroes is something crazy. It's natural.
The one I find weird is about the Lira, honestly I just want money I can exchange and buy things, lol. I have no care to disrespect the lira which to me is a bit odd.
In Turkey I saw ice cream sellers in fez, but how can it be possible, if the fez is prohibited? (The Turkish style ice-cream is very good, I love it, but in Hungary we accustomed to the italian style ice creams. )
Since foreigners think that Turks wear fes, they wear them to confirm stereotypes and attract tourists. The same goes for touristic places in the Mediterranean region that import camels from other countries just to attract tourists. If only foreigners knew that Anatolia has no native camels or a desert 😂
@ashsgirl There was a time camels existed but after turkmen were settled they became hard to come by, donkeys has been popular in the rural area since. Although nowadays even those who live near mountainous terrain doesn't use donkeys as much. About the desert, yes it doesn't exist but turkey gets its sand from its south in summer. Otherwise north has consistent rainfall, westren and eastren coast is like italy and greece eastren part is like persia which mind you is not a desert but a fertile place where two great rivers start and has dams that feed farms.
@@melinasuu At the end of the IX. century, when Hungarians arrived to the Carpathian basin, they had camels too, but due to Hungary had not desserts, rather swamps, today the Hungarians has not camels. These are all basic rules (except the one with fes), valid almost everywhere in the world. You need to dig deeper to find "crazy" or "funny" laws. Becuase the ones you have stated are not even close 🙄😒
US here: depending on the state, the drinking laws on sales differ, but overall the drinking age is 21. As for the flag, we can use the flag as a cover for tables, they can have it in clothes, but there are very strict rules on respecting our flag in how it’s raised in poles, if it’s damaged. As for the headgear, we don’t have restrictions, and I happen to have a fez that I wear; I got it in Morocco! And because we have freedom of speech, here, we can say whatever we want about our politicians, as everyone has seen all the trash talking that goes on in our country!
Actually it's not supposed to be worn as clothing. It's just not considered an "offense" in society. If you knew the rules of the flag, you will see how much it's being disrespected by our citizens. Especially with changing it and adding the blue line and other such things.
Many countries have similar rules and it saves a lot of hassle. If you think that not beeing required to be able to identify oneself is an advantage think again. If you run into law enforcement they will find out who you are. If it takes a long time to do that, guess who's time gets wasted.
And showing a whiskey bottle on your video is really a cheap way to attract peaople. The only thing that is "seriously quirky", as you mentioned in your statement, is the way you mention this rules and laws with no idea what similar or unusal rules and laws are valid in other countries.
lets say I said something unpolite about your dead mother or grandmother they cant hear me or get offended but you get so its disrespect to peoples symbols like quran or holybible
@@ayhanfedai5013 Well grandma was once alive. The currency never was. The Quran and Holy Bible are religious, so is understandable. But money - I hope! - is NOT an object of religious veneration. Besides, if Turkey wants to be in EU, at some point will have to... offend the Lira by accepting Euro as currency. On this last aspect I can understand why changing one's historical currency with something artificial and alien, can be felt like an offence. As for the rest, no. Personally, I consider the giving respect to the flag is much more important. Because the flag is the nation. So if one "offends" the flag, he knows very well what he is doing and is doing it on purpose. Currency? No. One can take a couple of old coins and turn them into beautiful earrings. If someone feel offended by beauty, art and ingenuity, it means that they are envious. And is their problem and theirs alone.

@@pembebulut2781 First of all, we never came under British mandate, the British occupied Istanbul to use the sultanate. Did they ban the fez so that we remember our history? hahahah. You are working on Sunday and you are going to import something, that day is a holiday in the country you want to import, you cannot even imagine how much work will be disrupted. Why should we wear a fez that doesn't belong to us? Wearing a fez actually distances us from our true self. Being secular is of course a privilege. no i.d. will be fined ???????
US here: depending on the state, the drinking laws on sales differ, but overall the drinking age is 21. As for the flag, we can use the flag as a cover for tables, they can have it in clothes, but there are very strict rules on respecting our flag in how it’s raised in poles, if it’s damaged. As for the headgear, we don’t have restrictions, and I happen to have a fez that I wear; I got it in Morocco! And because we have freedom of speech, here, we can say whatever we want about our politicians, as everyone has seen all the trash talking that goes on in our country!
Taking pictures of a military zone, or burning bills are forbidden in the US as well if I'm not mistaken.
Lol oh yea US got free speech alright 😂😂 Dude kids there get suspended for being patriotic 😂😂
Actually it's not supposed to be worn as clothing. It's just not considered an "offense" in society. If you knew the rules of the flag, you will see how much it's being disrespected by our citizens. Especially with changing it and adding the blue line and other such things.
You can't criticize Israel and Jewish lobbies in USA.
I thought fascism in the USSA was bad....
good video but could you explain why you use the term of „Türkiye“ when speaking english?
It’s the name of her country why would she translate that in English?
About a year ago "Turkey" requested the united nations to change its name to "Türkiye" and it was accepted
Çünkü artık Birleşmiş Milletler'e bildirildiği üzere ülkenin ismi "Türkiye" olarak değiştirildi.
@@gonaldfreecss2743Well, then Romanians should ask everyone to pronounce Romania as "România"... and have fun listening to their attempts.
Because legally it's not Turkey anymore, Turkiye is the official name for a year now. All immigration offices have already updated the name in US
The laws don't sound crazy at all. And this comes to you from an Armenian so you got to count it)
Türkiye*
But all the ice cream men wear that fez thing
Interesting but the case of youtube shows how bulisht law is being still tolerated by the citizens.
For me the weirdest one was having to carry identification at all times.
I's a protection for possible terrorism
@@istanbullubenim5543 No it's not, that's the excuse. It's about controlling the free person under the guise of terrorism
@@markylon Yes, it is, you don't seem to be Turkish, so you have no idea.
Many countries have similar rules and it saves a lot of hassle. If you think that not beeing required to be able to identify oneself is an advantage think again. If you run into law enforcement they will find out who you are. If it takes a long time to do that, guess who's time gets wasted.

I think you're the crazy one . Almost the same laws exist in many countries and you are trying to make it seem like they only exist in Turkey.
Indian laws are almost the same
And showing a whiskey bottle on your video is really a cheap way to attract peaople. The only thing that is "seriously quirky", as you mentioned in your statement, is the way you mention this rules and laws with no idea what similar or unusal rules and laws are valid in other countries.

he destroyed turkey, he was a coward, that's why he was so afraid of being caught, that's why he made it illigal
I don't understand how one could offend a currency.
lets say I said something unpolite about your dead mother or grandmother they cant hear me or get offended but you get so its disrespect to peoples symbols like quran or holybible
You cannot tear it apart , you cannot make insulting jokes physically.

Give us a break with this stupid "Türkiye". In English it's Turkey - whether 'Türkiyeans' and their president like it or not.
As a proud Turkroach i'm happy to to live in the best country ever
But hyperinflation has ruined my life I have no future, my goat (wife) had died in the earthquake
Food is so expensive I eat expired meat that gives me diarrhoea
But I will rebuild my Goattoman empire with Erdogay as our caliph

Behind all the crazy laws, there is 'unofficial' English mandate. After WW1, they've changed our calender to Znst calendar. Half of the months come from there (Nisan- Nisan, Temmuz- Temuz, Agustos- Av, Eylul- Ilul..) . They've changed the scripts so that we cannot read or understand the old official documents. Our offical weekends turned into Saturday and Sunday, where a Christian can go his church or Jew go to Sinagog freely. Our man cannot even take time off for Cuma prayer. They banned Fes so that we don't recall old times. We are under pressure to forget our past, and my brainwashed people think that being secular is being privileged. And there is a president who is trying to remind you who actually you are & you make fun of him and your past. When they invade Turkiye again to finish where they've left from, you'll see what happens to the food. We will be worse than Palestinians! Wake up!
@@pembebulut2781We would have been worse than Palestine, if Atatürk had lost.
(I will report the roach you responded for hate speech)

As much as I believe Mustafa Kemal’s sincerity, I believe in Erdogan’s sincerity as well. They both had to sacrifice. You guys need to stop idealizing people and have some fact checks. You are living in daydream. We are under unofficial British mandate. And we will be invaded again & will have to defeat them again.
jack daniles isnt illegal on turkey, and wearing fas was illegal

@@pembebulut2781 First of all, we never came under British mandate, the British occupied Istanbul to use the sultanate. Did they ban the fez so that we remember our history? hahahah. Türkiye is a secular republic, should we take the whole day off for the noon prayer? The most dominant reason for determining the weekend holiday is to keep up with the global situation. You are working on Sunday and you are going to import something, that day is a holiday in the country you want to import, you cannot even imagine how much work will be disrupted. Why should we wear a fez that doesn't belong to us? Wearing a fez actually distances us from our true self. Being secular is of course a privilege. You can't even imagine what the women who were killed because of their hair in Iran and another woman in Afghanistan who couldn't even see sunlight went through. Even today, religion being included in politics negatively affects the situation of the country, and I cannot even imagine what we would be like if we were a non-secular state. WE REMEMBER WITH RESPECT ATATÜRK.
@@adrichinturan those words belonged to me as brainwashed 20 years a go. Ataturk did his best to stop the bloodshed. They fed us with lots of stupid justifications.
