wow.... Great Cyprien Katsaris!! Could not agree more..!! Especially with the observation about the remarkable pianists emerging from China, Singapore, etc... (even though I am from Greece). We live in an era with more incredible pianists than ever before, but the audience for classical music is quite narrow. It is extremely difficult for all these talented musicians to find opportunities and establish themselves as concert pianists in today’s world.
The audience is limited because this super fast modern style of playing is tiresome (I'm a whole beater) and the "Werktreue" culture has destroyed improvisation/composition among young classical musicians. I hope to completely erode this modern culture of pianism.
I have a suggestion. Why does this channel not set up and run a competition that has some prize money (with your connections, it should not be too hard to get a prize fund set up), and livestream the competition; each contestant will be given a theme, a few bars of music unknown to them, and asked to improvise a fantasia, or a sonatina or some other musical form. This competition performance would be live streamed. The competition could be for various instruments, as specified, held over several days, and judged using one of your groups of experts in eighteenth century music, who would watch the live streams in real time, or later online.
Great ideas, these are long term projects but very real for the future: a new kind of classical music competition, new kind of graded exams, and so on. By the way, love your channel, long live Latin!
